It is always great to protect this antique piece,if the same can be revived to the orginal performance and the same is a big deal to accomplish. But from my experience several parts are to be changed and the quality of the cabinet needs important repairs to give shine . I appreciate your interest to give it a new life.
Many people can repair and restore the vintage old radios but very very little people who can clean every inch in the machines and the whole chassis and turn the radio into zero to be shiney and glossy exactly like the china plates or white glasses. Very clean and clear like the zero condition !
I have a similar radio but mine is a Telefunken from around 1957-1962 I think. I have not been able to find any information, no schematic. There is no make, model or number printed on it anywhere. I have spent hours and hours on the web trying to find this model but no such luck, it is really frustrating. I have even gone on to some German radio web sites with no luck. The back cove has no information on it at all other than input hookups. I will keep looking bit I think I have a unicorn! Your radio is very similar. I had some veneer pieces I had to replace so I decided to refinish the wood also. Any info would be appreciated to where I can look online, thanks
