@@DistanceNsVeterans I'm up for engine school next year but most of the motors given to my engineer are sd70s, sd40-2s, sometimes foreign units (other railroad's units)
@@armageddon1981 cool it be à good time for u if UP let u drive excreison trains like the E unit or 844 and big boy but thats going take long time to learn the basics of à steam locomotive tho i think UP had them both runing oil cuz they dont have coal if im right
I wish it were possible to travel like that now Over half a century ago on May 1st 1971 commercial passenger trains such as this were removed from service
@murjax-- I think Amtrak did offer that type of service at one point or another during their early years of operation, and then again off and on since then.
they offered the Desert Wind from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City and had two through cars that were transferred to the California Zephyr to continue on to Chicago. The service was discontinued in 1997 with Amtrak cutting back services on their long-distance routes.
It's crazy I bought a Lionel polar express on amazon for just about 270.00 to 254.00 and I love it Lionel does a great job if you are considering buying a Lionel big boy eBay is just about the only place you can buy them but you would have to pay a couple grand just to get one of course the only way to do so is to use a gift card for it if eBay even has them
