Old video from my other channel which I've luckily found which has some good pointers to share.
Yeah I talk like a robot, but have improved much over time, and if you didn't know I'm severely dyslexic so makes these kinds of videos challenging... now you can play it at 1.5 speed if you're native English hearing :)
If you're thinking of getting a Bull-Bar for your G-Shock, then watch this as what happened to me, which maybe one in a thousand, but the damage caused on the bezel wasn't great... also how it conflicts with the compass readings was also interesting.
Also I feature a CoolFire solar watch charger and it works brilliantly!
Plus some cool tricks using the GPR-B1000 Rangeman :)
**Don't knock my way of talking in this video, as I do suffer servilely from Dyslexia remember... and in general trying to concentrate not to slap my lips, cough and make many urmmmm noises is at least to the minimal in this video, so think about that before having a hissy fit and play it at x1.5 speed instead, cheers :))

To avoid scratches.. When I bought my gx56 I bought a sample of car paint protection film for £2 off ebay... Took the watch apart and cut ppf to a rough size of screen...applied the PPF with water etc and cut it carefully around the screen using a Wilkinson snap razor blade. I used ppf because its more scratch resistant and heals itself with heat unlike a screen protector.. Theres a reason they use it on ferraris and lambos etc. Put the bezel back together and you can't tell there's a anything on the screen! All the edges of ppf are tucked into the bezel too. I have hit the screen even even with my BULLBARS on and didn't have to worry. Looking at the mineral now it's still brand new! Try it and thank me later.

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman my pleasure! I have scratched watches before including my Hugo Boss and armani ones and I don't wear them because it hurts to see the scratches. Only if I did this before! And screen protectors are horrible.. They also scratch etc. With ppf you can peel and readjust with no problems and water application means no dirt or or finger print marks. I also have vinyl wrapped cars before and have some knowledge on ppf and thought why not try it. You should make a video on it.. And help the world! Lol... Oh and give me credit insta:@beard.inc

It's how you choose to use them, there is no limits to how they should be used, not every sports car is driven around the Swiss alps screaming its nuts off... as sometimes you just want to enjoy the view more :))

I guess you're talking about the GPR... well look on eBay, a few used ones being sold, but not often you'll find a best deal, prices are creeping up and up, could be the last of the best from CASIO after seeing their new GWG-2000 LML :-P

The bullbar is the stupidest mod for a gshock. They already designed it with a raised bezel to protect the crystal. In your case, it ended up damaging your watch instead of protecting it. Ironic isn't it?

Yep... I got sucked into the hype... It's until the most oddest of happenings happens is when you realise that it's just a sticking out piece of cheap wire that's now going to get caught on something else... the times it snagged on threads of my jeans pockets, was the hint to what was to come... Very annoyed with the damage, but more with their uninterested reply.... simple bad eggs! Cheers for your comment my friend :))

Hi :) The olive green is a great choice, sometimes I feel that's the one I should've bought, but went all black :-P As long as you know what the GPR is capable of, then it's a brilliant G-Shock, it's still my favourite watch, not just a G-Shock... it does all you need and more, and the GPS really does work, even without a device connected to it. If you're wanting to navigate more often, and use it more for navigation for hikes and walks, then maybe it's not enough for your needs... it's meant to be used as a survival tool the most, and that's really down to the size of it... but it's also handy to find your way back, or to find where you parked your car for an example, the limitations are down to your imagination the most... they are becoming more collectable now it's discontinued, so if you find a good deal, and you enjoy G-Shock's, then an excellent choice :)) I have the full tutorial plus some other videos on the GPR, and I wouldn't part with it, in fact I could part with every watch and keep just that one, it's that good :)) Cheers and your English is great :))

I blacked out the red lettering"G SHOCK" and "SHOCK RESIST" on my G-100 with a sharpie. Looks exactly the same, and never ever comes off.

I used a sharpie once before, but came off when I swam in a pool... but maybe when used on the whiter print it holds better... I did it over grey with black.

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman Ya, no problems with this one so far. I hand wash it in the sink pretty frequently, as this one is my true do everything beater and it gets funky working around the garden. I got it for next to nothing and liked everything but that extra cheep/cheesy looking red lettering. They Look much better blacked out (IMHO.) Thanks for the video.

Phil great video, informative and humorous. I was wishing you would go back to the id number on the menu, mayme it matches some of the infirmation on the back of the watch as verification or authenticity. Anyway is ther e a way to make sure the GPR-B1000 is original? Thank you?!

The best way to know it's original is post it on a G-Shock watch group, and if fake it'll be ripped apart! The biggest part and the most easiest, is seeing if it connects to G-Shock Connected, if fake it wont connect. Some fakes can catch you out, but everything especially with the fonts and sharpness of print, needs to be perfect. If there is a different tone of colour, for example oranges and reds can have a difference on certain materials, but G-Shock maintain this level being that it matches. In the hand, it'll have a weight, the buttons will feel good, but ask yourself, if it doesn't feel premium then it's more likely fake. Send me a photo of the front, back and sides, including the strap, and I would just know from experience. If in doubt ask someone who knows or owns one, don't take a gamble. I know there's a company called WISH that are getting away with fakes, and I've seen a few on Aliexpress, but they're very obvious, as the negative display has a tint of green. Connecting to the App is the 100% knowing it's real if the outside all looks the same. Cheers :)

The watch that I am interested on is being sold on a buy & sell stuff site here in Russia and the watch is in another city, unfortunately i cant see it and feel it but I can start by providing proof that conects tobthe app. I would buy it new but I havent seen neither the green norbthe black model sold anymore in Official stores ((. @@gustavtarankov3899 I would say look for a good used one, but prices are still strong on them, so that tells you enough how great they are. Happy to look at some screen shots for you and give my judgement, and won't share them elsewhere. A really good group is G-Shock Collectors WORLDWIDE and I know a few of the admins well... I don't post often, but am a regular on the group poking some fun lines LML :-P Really nice group, with some really serious collectors that know more than me, but I'm passionate with my G-Shocks in another way :)) My email is found on my website if you want me to gaze over them... cheers buddy :))

Hello, Excellent video, I really liked the idea of the flashlight, I have an Ecodrive Citizen and when I put it near sunlight, it does not even have contact with the light, the watch warms up, once I forgot 3 hrs, and the watch was very hot, without having received direct light, is the flashlight emitting cold light? regards

Hey... these CoolFire solar watch chargers are perfect if you don't want to cook your watch in sunlight... hardly any warmth from them, so very safe to use... I did a solar video and featured this charger in that video, so maybe have a look in the playlist for that video, and it will show what light does what... but the CoolFire is the one I use the most especially kick starting dead solar watches. Thanks for returning my good friend :)) You are in luck, that video is saved... but lost the 3 Mudman's video :( I've got a few videos before hand to make, but will post that after... trying to spread them over between the new ones I film... it's not so easy to film as the house is filled during the day with family, then in the evening it's the gamers.... and I'm also out on my walks and hikes... hopefully things go back to normal and the house is once more my empty studio during the day :))

oh ya and i put some Turtle wax ceramic spray coating on my gshocks they are made form the same stuff as cars. the shine and water phobic properties is crazy shiny. i think it add some mild scratch resistant coat too. the water beads right off when it gets wet the watch feels slick and nothing sticks to it now. .

Sounds like some Nano technology... I guess there's a film over the resin so there's no micro-pours... has the same property as sapphire. I've heard of that carbon waxing, but how long it lasts I have no idea, but with a protection film it'll prevent it from drying out, so should last a very long time.

It'll ruin the bezel, it makes it worse in my opinion, and I've gone completely off them, make the watch look like a replica from WISH. Also they had no interest with my issues, so to me they can leave the G-Shock world with their over priced junk. Buddy, leave it original unless you really want that look, but I see less and less on watch groups, so guess many have had enough of them?

I feel you need to ask on G-Shock Collectors WORLDWIDE getting real feedback... I hear stories that adapters can break lugs, as the main support is removed when an adaptor is used... not sure which G-Shocks are effected the most, but the GPR-B1000 is one of them.

I guess if you have a taller display case. You could mount the carge light a distance above and just have it on constantly / on a timer. so when ever your watch sits in its case.. it charges

I guess you could use micro switches so it knows when a watch is sitting under the light :) So many possibilities, but for me, using the CoolFire when needed is enough... my Citizen Eco-Drives are power hungry, but G-Shocks seem to last way way longer. Cheers :)

Hi Mate Not really sure how effective using an led light is on charging the gprb1000. I've been shining an led onto the solar panel for 24 hrs now to try and move it from 3 to 4 bars with no effect. In the other hand the gw9400 charged within 5 hours from medium to high

Hey buddy... I've covered this in another video, but will tell you here now it all works. The GPR-B1000 uses a much bigger battery than on other solar G-Shocks. So when the GPR-B1000 is on 2 cells, this is equivalent to a standard ABC watch... cells 3 and 4 are used for the GPS side, and this part of the battery is the largest for power consumption. This is why it comes with wireless charging, so you can really charge it fully in a few hours, the solar just maintains the battery level, and to fully charge with a LED lamp on the GPR-B1000 could take a month. The battery on your GW-9400 is smaller, and so will therefore charge quicker to H, but if the GPR-B1000 was on 1 cell, it wouldn't take long till it hits 2 cells. Sunshine and the lighting from outside is the best. I hope that helps to explain, and just think of the 2 cells as a standard ABC G-Shock in the GPR-B1000. From 2 cells to full using the wireless charger, should take about 2hours just to add, and from a flat battery about 5hrs. Cheers

Hey buddy.... well using this CoolFire to fully charge your GPR would be a longer time over using the wireless charger, unless you've lost your charger??? It would charge it, but might take a good few days, it's not something I've tested as using the wireless is just a lot less hassle. If you're wondering about fully charging it in the sunshine, again, gonna take a while, the reason is that Lithium battery is bigger than all regular and ABC solar G-Shocks just to add. I did post on the community page about the type of battery used.. cheers :)

who has tried to put clear coat paint in a spray can on a gshock?

As long as you prepare the surface and it has a bond, then it should be good. There are some bonding agents that help with keying the surface, but you need that paint used on plastic car bumpers, as that has flex. You can also try those Jelly bezels that can be dyed, but it doesn't have that gloss paint finish.

LML well since this video that paint has worn off, along with the print on the strap :-P If done correctly it does have good results, just don't use gloss paint, as it'll start looking like a piece of furniture LML :-P

how long it takes to charge full from 3 bar in solar …. I kept more than 15 mins under direct sunlight but stayed in 3rd bar

Hey buddy... if you’re after the 4th cell on the battery using solar, then this will take a long long time, possibly 2 weeks? The reason being is the battery used in the GPR is much bigger than most other solar G-Shocks because of the GPS side. When the GPR is on 2 cells this is equivalent to an ABC GW-9400... the wireless charger is there to top up this bigger battery, as sun power is more for maintenance on the 3 cells side... I’ve managed to get another two hours from my GPS when it hit 2 cells just by leaving it in a sunny place for 3hrs... but getting it on 4 cells only happed once, and I would say because it was almost on 4 cells anyway. Use the wireless charger if you need full GPS battery, otherwise don’t worry about it, mine is mostly on 3 cells and if I need all day GPS then wireless charging for sure... hope that helps buddy ;)

@@streetxlens Very welcome... a few get tangled with trying to get the 4th cell using solar, but once it's explained they feel much better, as broken is sure flowing in their thoughts. Not so long ago I replaced a rechargeable lithium battery in a Citizen Eco-Drive... it took 78hrs using my CoolFire solar watch charger to get it on full, and even then it wasn't at the fullest... takes a lot to get them full, so when the GPR is on 2 cells this is like full on other solar watches... if you need GPS then wireless charge, if not, then don't bother, it'll last :)

Just been to the place where Churchill lived and where he was laid to rest, in a place called Woodstock... he live at the Blenheim Palace. Just had a walk around the estate which was about 8.5km's... lovely park with some very old oak trees :))

I think it is a very nice stealthy look! Did your shed door survive your G-Shock attack? 🤭 Such a nasty bull bar. I would not use such ever again, if I was you.

It's just for fun, and easy to do :) The shed lock was put on by myself so is there to last.. the Bull-Bars are a curse and makes an unnecessary edge to even catch a thread on a jeans pocket... they look cool, but what you're doing is basically putting a huge wing on the back of a car that's front wheel drive... if CASIO thought it needs it they would have added it... also made their own. When it went in the bin it never came out... never again, that's lessen learnt... but did sort the scratch out... video to follow :))

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman Bull bars on watches were all the rage in some distant past. Especially with the fashion conscious fragile brittle Swatch.😄 G-Shock protective rubber bezels look so much better. Far more practical too. Yet I feel the best watch protection are those nylon watch protectors. You must have installed G-Shock mother of a lock? 👊🏻

@@Daud76 My first G-Shock G-3110 had factory bull-bars as seen in this video... and they are hugged to the bezel... I bought that watch in 2000/2001 and used it everyday for everything... the end link broke over the years of abuse and has been sitting in a box for a very long time, about a year ago I placed it on a resin strap which isn't original for the model, but it got it worn again ... and now I have found a replacement part it lives back on the original bracelet :)) Nylon watch protectors, now the only nylon I look at are stockings LML :-P

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman Anglo Saxons wore pure white nylon stockings to hide and protect their pure white legs! 😄 Yes certainty if it a factory built and installed Casio bull bar, then it will be perfect for purpose it intended. 😉 ..and I am happy you got your G-3110 back on your wrist again. Funny how a wrist is missed! Tra la la? 🤭
