Thank you so much for these videos! I was having trouble with Meiosis in class so I watched this video- it made it so easy, and also fun! In fact, I am not evening learning about viruses but because you make your videos so interesting and fun, I just watched it anyway. Cool. I was expecting to know a lot of this, but i didn't know the distinction between a normal virus and a retrovirus (I'd heard of the term though), and i also didn't know about the lytic and the lytogenic cycle.

I'm only half way through this amazing vid and loving it! but I have a question. If the virus is not really alive....or at the bacterial level.....why does it behave as though it is trying to procreate and thus perpetuate itself? why does it care? how can it be picky about what it infects if it has no desires or none of the same needs as 'alive ' matter? am I missing something?
