Tips: Dont paint the sliding surfaces, in the engineering world they're called bearings, you dont pour paint into bearings and get a smooth time. Remove the paint from the vice jaws and underside of the base feet, in the welding world they are part of your earth path, paint is not a great insulator but an insulator. Paint on the handle, screw bearing surface washer etc are binding. If you're bound to use an engineers vice as a welding tool, zinc plate it, you can soft wire brush it after several weld events for a fresh finish. Cold black the handle and oil soak to stop splatter adhering . . . Maybe another vid taking this "resoration" and upgrade it for welding. I do see in later vids you cleaned back the jaws as least.
