This video is about Old Vs New (combine)im out checking out the new stuff and its really not that different.so here you go i like the new holland combines and how well they run.there good damn good combines.
I absolutely love these types of video when Wes shows us new equipment and explains how they work and the difference between different models and different brands. Thank you for the informative and educational Video, Wes.
This was a great video. Your knowledge of your industry is huge, and I for one, really appreciate it. You are an inspiration in that case. I hope you decide to do more of these types of videos.Again,Thank You.
Fun fact The new CR series combines use the same gearbox on the back of the engine as the tr96 The box was a major over engineer for the TR, its rated to 1000hp I dout its identical but the basic internals and design are a match The bin extensions are electric folded.of theyre a proper closed bin If they dont fully seal then they're a manual close amd open That what we run in Australia We only close them for cleaning We're running an older 9070 (older version of this one videoed) And a new 9.90
Big M's only go 40km/h, yea maybe 1 or 2 more but that is it. 400 and 420 are the same as Big M2, same problems and a few updates. For the big win take a 450, it is completely redesigned, more power, less fuel consumption roadspeed at 1200rpm/ mowing at 1600rpm, up to 25km/h mow speed, mow drivetrain with propshafts, easyer controls etc. The downside of the Big M's still are the weight, width, height and the bad driveability on the roads. Well my opinion by running the machines in the holiday period of my fellow worker s. Test them before buying, try at least 100 to 150 acres of mowing.
Saw for sale 2019 KRONE BIG M 450CR roller conditioners. 266 Engine hours. 192 Cutting Hours. Krone factory extended warranty runs until May of 2022. $395,000
Guy down the way is running a couple of Claas Lexions, buddy out back of me just bought a Gleaner S97...if I had the money they have in combines I would never have to work another day in my life.
There is a youtuber who farms in Canada and he has an army of new combines. Think he farms something like 50,000 acres. Air compreser is used for blowing off the machine mainly so they don't catch on fire.
Can you make a video about what you put on your hay fields? Lime, fertilizer, manure, compost.... You always make an awesome crop of hay and I'm interested in how you do it exactly, how many tons you put on per acre and stuff like that. Thanks for the awesome video's!
It would be really nice if Messick's would send that up and allow you to demo it. I'm a John Deere guy but they do make nice combine. Jeff Reymond can really fill you in. Have a great day
@Jeff Reymond ELM's opinion of a piece of machinery is by how good it looks. He knows very little about the mechanic nature of the machine. I will say I do like the twin rotors on the NH. Been waiting for years for deere to build one. Deere's bullet rotor are great in beans but leave a little to be desired in corn.
I like your no nonsense analysis of the machines in this video. The makers of these machines would do well to actually ask you what they need to do, as I don't think you would compromise yourself and tell them what they want to hear. Not that they will do that, I think your robust style would scare them away. LoL.
There is a dairy farm up the road from me. He bought a used big M and he only does a fraction of hay you do. Yes I think it's time to finally consider owning one.
10.90 model is the combine with the most capacity in the world, after 5 years of soild results, jd is starting to copy and experiment with their design
The only thing that scares me about those newer machines is all the added electronic stuff..... I think the combines from the early to late 2000s are probably the best combine era, with New Holland's CRs being awesome. There is a nice balance between electronic and mechanical with failsafes. Even from your TR to the newer machines they do have very similar characteristics.
Crop doesn't change quickly, every part in the 7.90 is different in material, design, forging technology or simply position but everything in the machine outside of the DEF tank and the fart-proof seat cushion performs the exact same jobs as on a TR75.
I've put 17000 acres on a Big M 420 and about 4000 on a Big M 450. I've also run a Big M 1 and 2. The 420 and 450 have a nicer cab and monitor. I love the redesign of the 450 but the 420 will out mow the 450. I don't know why but in heavy crop the 420 can go faster. Also they all only go 25mph on the road.
How much hay you have to produce and sell to get that value bay? When will be machine payed off and start making depreciation found for next new one? Great video and introduction.
Hey Wes, what’s the ballpark MPG you’re getting on your new pickup? I drive similar conditions as you. Kicking around buying a new pickup and I don’t want or need another diesel. Thanks for the videos.
@@f0rumrr triple mowers turn a tractor into self propelled mower with wing mowers hooked to 3 point so same as big m but can drop mowers off and utilize tractor elsewhere. However if can't use an existing tractor than the big m is more feasible. It does look like the big m can merge when cutting which would work good if used in corn stalks.
How long would it take you to go down the road 30 mile and cut 200 acres on your wind rower how and the big m and the new big m . Would an oshcosh be any youse on a farm or just fun
Maybe someone will chime in about "steel" rollers in comparison to rubber rollers, and impellers? I certainly agree with you about impellers over rubber rollers. Jury is still out on steel rollers?
Flails are better any way. Compression rollers are nice until you run something through them that you didn't see... cost of repairs is way too much. Price wise on those machines, depends on your operation if it's too much or not. Get yourself a lowboy trailer or 2 and do your own hauling, that would help you with travel speed. Now, with those mowers, you're still going to have an issue of looking behind you on both your right and left sides. Now days, everyone is after comfort. Great video, cheers :) P.S. NH should've just stayed in haying equipment but, it is what it is. Never cared for NH once they bought out Ford.
They just sell their engines to equipment manufactures. Mercedes used to build tractors (MB-trac) but they stopped with that in 1991. I think Claas, Ropa, Grimme and Krone. Use or used their engines.
Wes they are all Awesome till you get the price... then many dont think they need a new one. caseInternational hasn't changed much either since the 1980s nor did Deere... Deere really has been last to innovate except for the soundgard cab... just saying... US EPA screwed up Mercedes engines which is why you dont see them in diameter trucks anymore...
How much does the New Holland chew up the straw? We had trouble making small square bales of straw that went through a rotary combine because they would grind the straw to much.
@Jeff Reymond I have never ran a rotary. Maybe one of the reasons Deere was later to switching. There is still a lot of straw baled in my area for bedding.
We have a convential deere just for that purpose... way better straw... the deere rotaries are just as bad as any rotary combine for straw... depends on the condition of the straw to.
For corn new Holland may be ok but for cereals and canola and the like they threw way to many bushels over the top and the fuel usage compared to a CLAAS of same size is astronomical
Depending on area, operator. I have seen a Deere 9860 walk away from a claas and give a better sample. They all are so close to each other it doesn't really matter what color. If you have the dealer support and had luck with it run it.
Chad Justice yeah the jd walked away from the claas because the grain went over the top. We done the tests with a drop pan time and time again this fall .plus if your dealing with a lot of straw like we are the the Jd doesn’t even come close to chopping it as good as the claas . It’s not just about grain loss it’s also about straw management for the next years seeding ,and yes operator and such do play a role but not as much as you may think
Is that combine the same machine as a red one? I now case new holland uses the same hay equipment with different paint jobs for case ih or new holland but I don't know about combines?
They are similar chassis (NH) but the threshing is very different and the Case IH flagship series combines use the long, high lifting feederhouse design, though there could be two different lines of New Holland combines too. 🤷♂️
If only you had an extra 200k to spend. Only problem with a big m, is could you trust anyone else to drive it. And complex and expensive i can imagine they are to maintain.
lots of them here and mostly being driven by employees .........somebody with their wits about them will do fine in one .............large stones hidden in the grass crops will be a different story ........local contractor got one 2nd hand and after the first day he reckoned the ...m... stood for mistake .........garage took it back and he got a fresher one from them and it went well till it burnt ......
Instead of buying a big m why don’t you buy a newer tractor and run a triple mower set up on it? Yeah it will cost more forsure but wouldn’t it be benifical to have an extra tractor in the yard for those just incase moments
@@chadjustice8560 Actually fiat bought out both of them... thats why you have CNH. They are not compleatly different.... they share the same cabs and engine I know for sure...
