The persimmon wood performed outstanding. Rewarded for 3 good ball strikes landing on a dime. Best overall dispersion and consistent yardage compared to the newer tech. I would take that kind of dispersion any day over the extra distance. Sure, the extra yard’s gained is effectively gaining a club length, but was dispersion and distance consistency any better? Probably not an objective view by myself as I swing with very heavy shafts as I choose tempo over maxing out my swing speed. Everyone is unique. And the VARIETY of newer tech has certainly helped a large range of players enjoy the game. Thankyou for the video comparison. A very interesting watch

I loved watching him "hit in on the screws" .... the carry was only slightly less with impeccable precision. As someone still carrying ping eye 2s I am also a little biased perhaps lol. I wonder if they'd try out of the rough or holding the green scenarios.....

Fascinating test! It was interesting to see the difference in spin between the 2006 Titleist fairway and the current model. Current year products are much more efficient and user friendly.

Im a beginner and I’m looking to get a used 3 wood titleist 906F4 or a cobra comp hyper steel, both really affordable price points just not sure what’s best as far as performance and quality of the club
