Great comparison! I vote for the old nano speedy vs the new. I'm so glad I got the old one. It would have been ideal to keep the old nano size and just add the detachable strap and treated Vachetta. Oh well
@@chanellvlover how is your old speedy wearing? I have had mine for about 3 weeks. I bought it new from LV. 2 of my back vachetta chaps are wearing on the edge. I noticed that there is hardly any glazing on the chaps at all. The edges (the pointy part) are lifting on the back, I guess from rubbing on my body when worn. Have you noticed this? I dropped mine off for repair at the atelier shop in Costa Mesa CA. They will replace all chaps but I'm wondering if it will happen again. I'm thankful they took it in as within 1 week of owning it I removed my strap! Lol. So I took it in with no strap. They will still do the repair as the strap removal has nothing to do with my chaps.

@@chanellvlover I will but guess what? I was told it may be 6 to 8 MONTHS before I get it back!!! JUST FOR CHAPS! AND IT WILL BE DONE LOCALLY AT THAT! I told my SA. He thinks that is ridiculous as it should be expedited as I have only owned it for 3 weeks. Also just for chaps replacement it shouldn't take that long. He knows some of the managers there so he will try his best to get it done much sooner. I will feel like I have a new bag again! Lol. I will update you hopefully a lot sooner then 6 to 8 months! That's almost 1 year!
So glad you followed up with this comparison of the old Nano to the new Nano. Personally, I prefer the older version…it will fit more, the smaller hardware is not an issue for me, and the leather zipper pull on the original versions of the minis always had extreme wear and tear, so i preferred the metal pull. Also, the fact that they covered the LV monogram on the sides of the new version with the leather chaps is a telltale sign of the quality and lack of attention we are seeing!
Thank you for creating such a detailed comparison which really helps me decide whether to get the new version too or not. I think overall I like the old version better . I only like the removable strap from the new version. but the old version is perfectly fine for me crossbody so removable strap is not necessary.

Great video. I’m new to your channel and I love your vibe. And, I can’t tell the difference in the two Bottega bags and the LYXBAG is close enough and it’s cute so that’s good enough for me.
IMO the larger tabs/chaps give the illusion of a larger looking bag on the new Nano Speedy. Maybe so you won't notice or care so much that the overall size has shrunk compared to the older version. That being said, your video is just what is needed so those who want to see a comparison can make up their minds. Personally I will stay with my original nano.

I think the new nano's proportions are better! I've always thought the height of the Speedy bag line was too tall. The new nano looks cuter and more modern! But both cute, regardless. :)
I really hope they will have the vachetta leather strap for the speedy b20, then it’ll be perfect. I felt like LV purposely design bags not for what we want, so we could keep buying and try to find one that we will forever love….🙈🙈🙈
I returned the Nano Speedy when I first got it because it was too small. I repurchased it and love it now. I can't imagine having a smaller one. I prefer the old version 😍
I am so happy I purchased a brand new one old nano speedy from someone less than current retail price! I was debating to buy the new nano to but after I have seen your 2 videos I will keep the old nano and not buy the new one! ☺️

They should have adjusted the leather tabs on the side of the new nano speedy so that the LV logo is not partially covered. Btw, lovely review! Love that you also included the mod shots of speedy 20. 😊

I appreciate this video! I pre ordered this bag and waiting for it to ship. I had purchased and quickly returned the original nano bc of the strap...I recently got the speedy 20 and feel that size is so much different from the new Nano! To me, it looks much cuter than the old nano..I heard it has the upgraded shiny hardware too.. Also, I like the bigger shiny gold clasp.. Makes it look so nice..I'm IN LOVE! Especially with the strap. . The strap on the original nano seemed very flimsy to me...I would have to cut that off 🙈 I just hope mine ships soon 🥰🥰🥰
What a missed opportunity with LV. There is something very off about this new version. I’m so bothered by the side tab piping separation, the old nano is way cleaner and doesn’t have the same gap. There are improvements the nano needed, but this version misses the mark. I’ll continue to wait. Great comparison.

I like the old much better!!! After watching some videos I decided I wanted the old and so glad I was able to find it from someone for a great price. Not paying more for a small bag and I also like the look of the old much more.

Great review! I have the old Nano and was vacillating over whether I should sell it and get the new one. I’m keeping the one I have. It’s already a small enough purse, I don’t want or need it to be even small just cuz it has a detachable strap.

IMHO the new Nano is the almost exact size of the vintage Speedy HL without a removable strap. I do believe at one time Louis Vuitton created the vintage mini HL with a non removable strap. The new Nano appears to be a reissue with a new name. They will probably come out with a larger version of the new Nano with a removable strap and the price will be more expensive than the original Nano Speedy.

Very informative video! LV just doesn’t care anymore. As consumers we need to put our money where our mouth is, stop buying this garbage until they make real improvements without charging a ton to do so. Quality has gone way down. They don’t care because demand is higher than ever

Thank you for the video. I had an opportunity to purchase the old version but passed. Had the strap been removable but not treated leather I would’ve gotten it. Had it not been removable but treated leather I’d have gotten it. Since it was not removable and not treated I passed. I’m planning to get the new one when I can mostly based on the treated leather. I do wish LV would’ve kept the size and shape the same and just changed up the straps and treated the leather.

I don’t mind that the strap isn’t removable on the original Nano Speedy, I LOVE mine. I know people were excited for the removable strap, but this isn’t even a revamped Nano… this is the Mini HL resurrected! I’ve got a vintage one of those (no long strap) and it looks way more like the new Nano than the old Nano does. So small. Not practical (but adorable).

And the new one is $200 more 🤯 Im glad I got my (old) nano speedy in the summer of 2021 & im in love with it. Although im a curvy girl & it hits me above my hips 😆 I still thinks it’s so cute I couldn’t imagine the nano being any smaller than what the old one is 🙂

Does new version vachetta change colour slower? I believe LV revised their vachetta leather on the new version (now called “aged” natural cowhide) to have a head start patina but changes colour slower than the old version.

Hi,i bought second hand old version speedy nano, and received today! Have date code ,but the only one thing really concerns me is both handles so so light,I don’t think LV handles can be so so light, they meant to be durable and solid, anyway what do u think abt handles! I am so scare that I bought replica
Hello! Nowadays it’s hard to buy an authentic piece unless it’s a very reputable place. The only way to know is to see the pictures or bring it for authentication. The handle should have patina of the natural leather based on usage and the age of the bag. If you have an IG, sent me photos @chanellvlover so I can compare to mine.
