Old Warden Aerodrome by Burning Blue Design review flight in Tiger Moth Microsoft Flight Simulator 

I have the privilege of living on the doorstep of the Shuttleworth Estate and the detail in this addition to the BBD library is outstanding. the level of detail is nuts. Even the Airshow posters and signs on the canteen counter are just like the real thing. Cant wait to add it into my collection and watch virtual air displays here. As others have said. if you haven't been you really are missing a wonder if your into aviation, pre war nostalgia this is the place to come and visit and eat cake...

Great video. Used to watch the flying displays from my back garden when we lived in Biggleswade. Old warden is a lovely village👍 Joy to have this in the sim which I use often.

I've never had the pleasure of flying in, in real life but after several visits over the years, Old Warden has a very special place in my heart - our hearts! I'm having so much fun at BBD's virtual airfields because of, as you said, the immersion factor. Now planning my flight from Tatenhill to this absolute gem. Please visit, there's nowhere else quite like it!!

I've been lucky enough to have flown in to Old Warden a number of times in Harvard, Chipmunk and Super Cub, most the time with Trustee Tony Haig-Thomas amongst others and can say just one word 'wow'. Burning Blue do such a good job and this can be seen in their latest rendition. Nothing is missed and just watching this video reminds of the good old days of flying there in the 80s and 90s.

Rob, a lovely Easter video to watch with Lady Brown and myself with a handful of chocolate to nibble. BBD have made an excellent rendition of our favourite airshow museum. We did though have to stop the video for a moment when you said you had never visited Old Warden! You are in for a treat!! Its fabulous (in our opinion far better than Duxford for shows) but it is a different atmosphere. We've IRL flown in about 5 times, mostly on air show days, but one occasion on a quiet 2020 after COVID restrictions were briefly reduced. A highlight of my personal flying was being on final with the red Comet running up waiting for us to land. On exit we had an apology from Dodge Bailey 'sorry my Hurricane is parked a bit close to you, can you get out ok?' Not something you get at big events.... Using the Tiger is ideal for Old Warden, its tight for faster stuff, but perfectly manageable. It is in reality pretty bumpy in places. A great location for a future Discord fly in? Great to see the go-around, great airmanship and realistic. Keep up the good work! 👍

Having been to Old Warden on several occasions I am happy to say this looks very much like its real counterpart. It’s one I will purchase very soon.

You are right. I never fly to generic Asobo airports. The beauty of MSFS is VFR flying and a good made airport is part of a full immersion for me, like when I fly in real life. Lot of free and pay airports in msfs. This make the difference for me. More than having dozen of aircrafts. Ant's Tiger Moth is a wonderful made aircraft. A must have.

BBD have nailed it yet again! An airfield and airshow unlike no other, it has a "garden party" atmosphere that no other airshow in my experience can match. You owe it to yourseld to get there at least once during the 2024 season 🙂

Fantastic! I live not too far from here and have been many times, i'm amazed to see the detail of the park my kids play in behind the hangers. I was extremely lucky last year to have been bought a hands on flight in a tigermoth from here and can thoroughly recomend it as well as the museum. Excellent video showing it off 🙂

Great video, really enjoyed the feature and to see you in the Moth. A real treat to have this truly special airfield so expertly recreated in the sim by Burning Blue. Its a wonderful place and this really captures the place. Visited IRL a few years back and hope to fly in there this summer. Its a favourite and in many ways even more unique than Duxford. What a lovely way to spend a Friday morning! More details in the cafe than my own room! So many young folks, where are all the old blokes with an above average interest in even older aircraft and oily rags! Kidding aside, would be wonderful to see the volunteers and ground crew in their white overalls in a later update. Stunning all around. I've been there once with Eirik and now I miss it very much.

i dropped parachute display teams there for quite a few years at their airshows and have been happy with the orbx version however this looks much better, burning blue really do a great job on the UK airfields

You have to go. It's a beautiful place. It's set in the grounds of an agricultural college. You drive through a Miss Marple film set of a village and when I took my 2 girls who were at primary school, they saw an air display of Royal Navy warbirds including the Sea Vixen, got to talk to a mainly female aircrew of a Merlin which they saw land there. There were 1940,'s period musicians, music and army types. We were always lucky with hot sunny weather. Next stop Duxford which blew their minds. But it was Old Warden which lit the blue touch paper ❤

This is the 100th comment. This is an airfield that i'd love to go in real life this is an airfield i'm definitely going to get and what a magnificent video.

Wow. Been waiting on Old Warden & had no idea this was coming. Thought Orbx might've done one considering they had a decent version for FSX but i've pretty much given up on Orbx these days. This is a definite purchase for me.

True story: my mother was dating a young pilot in the 1950s who was training in a Tiger Moth. He took her up flying in it. My mother "moved on" as they say but that young Tiger Moth pilot ended up as a Senior Qantas 747 Captain and retired having been one of the chief training pilots including....running the new-fangled Qantas simulator amongst other things!

Finally seeing Old Warden... So excited, from burning blue design hinting this on instagram a little while back, i was jumping with excitement. "We finally have an accurate old warden coming to the sim!" I've been to the airshows on so many occassions and nothing gets better than the grand opening of UK air displays at old warden around may. I hope one day you get an opportunity to go there as you will not be disappointed. Flight replica's MKV spitfire will be ideal for this scenery soon, are you looking to fly that in the near future? I live in Essex - which is *very* well covered by Burning Blue airfields. But I'm personally bored with all the 'usual suspects' in the south being covered by BB. I want to fly further afield between BB airfields. Will you ever create airfields that are outside of the south of England? As good as Old Warden looks, I feel I already have too many airfields in the south. I hope you will consider some northern airfields, so I can start collecting your beautiful work again.

Thanks for this. I have spent many a day there and walked around the peaceful Swiss Garden. I will be buying it. It looks just as I remember it, but what is wrong with some of the trees (at the top)? They don't look right. Also, do you have any more information on the ground tile issues you mention, and the possible limit on installed airfields causing it? Thanks once again.

Got this download and was disappointed because the grass is far too high . They have an airshow option but no explanation of what it is. Not easy to install because it's not automatic . Very hard to contact them.

Another southern field. Come on Burning Blue - you're getting very predictable. What about all the beautiful GA fields in the north of England? Do you have some sort of strategic policy to inly cover the south and north-east midlands?
