Old WMATA Metrorail Door Chime

In this entry I upload 1980s Breda Car #3100 with the old Door Chime, This is a rarity to find since 2006 the 1k-6k railcars have the current door chime. But from time to time some of these trains will roll around with the classic door chime.

I actually miss the chime that the Breda 3000 series cars had before this one and the NY Subway chime the 1000’s has

"George Clooney **peeng pung** " The pitch is a bit higher than I remember from childhood, and I also remember when they didn't use Sandy Carroll's vocals at all back in the 80s!

There were two versions of that chime. You're probably thinking of the original version, which was at a lower pitch. That was used on the Rohr and Breda cars. The one on this video is the later version, which was used on the CAF cars, and the Breda 2000 and 3000-Series cars following their rehabilitation.
