Hi There were 3 houses, terrace, where Castle Hill car park is today. This is where West St and Castle St meet. There is still the old stone wall with a gateway in the middle today. I think they were demolished in the late 50's early 60's. I have pictures of my mam's wedding reception in the garden.
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for uploading them. My grandparents ran the billiard hall in the late 70s and early 80s until they retired I believe. They were Mr and Mrs Ellis.
Have you got any pictures of the 3 houses on top of castle hill. Now it's the little car park across from lead hill. My Grandma used to live in one. Her garage is now the worksop radio club.
The only picture I have of old buildings at the top of Castle hill can be seen in Old Worksop in Colour - Six, Could your Grandma's house have had a West Street address?
back when worksop wasnt over run by eastern europeans , vape shops , turkish barbers & vape shops ..... makes you wonder how many of the men in the photos fought for britain defending our way of life in ww1 & 2 to then see the state of the town come today , they would be turning in their graves ....
My grandad fought in the Boer war and world war 1 he died during world war 2 and he would indeed have hated his home town turning into the hellhole you describe why did our forefathers bother?
