I never realized the cut stones laying around the garden…..we try to make it once a year……I always find it odd when you read about the tower it does not say who built it……it reminds me off being found and than built the park around it….such a beautiful park….great great video…..did not know much about Enger….

Cool! There was no gate on the ground-level floor back in the day (70’s); you could walk all the way around but had to crawl through on the backside as floor to ceiling clearance diminished (if I remember correctly). That, and rumored to haunted down there or so told by kids my age back then. Cheers

So, there's a chance she's deeper? Apparently, she's at least partially buried. Why would it be designed without full access to all floors unless it wasn't designed and built for the lookout tower we've been told? Thanks for the comment and the insights!

Thank you so much for making this beautiful testament to this place which I Love. I really miss walking to the tower and back to Observation park. Please make a video about Observation Park and Observatory which used to stand there. ❤😢

I used to walk the old stone steps from West Superior Street near the M&H all the way to West 1st Street, up past the old quarry along the rock wall, then mostly trail till you got to 5th st and Skyline parkway where there's still stone steps inset into the mountain up to tower park. There are seemingly ancient and overgrown terraces for gardens all over that neighborhood. There's ruins too. "Cochran castle" and the remains of "Park terrace" among them. Supposedly the northern Italian stone masons who emigrated there in the 1910s where responsible for all the stonework because they built the St.Peters church by hand, hauling the stones from what's now 'Twin Ponds" using sledges drawn by Shire horses in the Winter. My old house at 915 West 4th Street has bluestone foundations over 4ft thick. One boulder in it was the size of a mini fridge! Along 3rd St West by the old Emerson school the road sits atop a rock wall which spans the glen. I walked through the tunnel for Buckingham creek once. I was always so impressed by the shear engineering of it all and I often wondered how a group of stonemasons with only hand tools and horses could have constructed such feats! Truly an ancient place of mystery and wonder if there ever was one here in the Ol' U S-of-A 😮

Great comment. I'm familiar with most of those ruins by M&H, but I didn't connect them to this park and are potentially garden terraces! Wow, you connected some more dots for me. Thanks for the insight!

Always a bunch of stories to appease the book learners. We have a similar hill near Boston called Blue Hill. It has similar towers that sit atop and provide a view of the City. From atop Eliot Tower I can video 20 miles past earths curve. But thats a different subject.

Great show ! such skilled stonework . and by the w.p.a. , the usual suspects. reminds me of ‘mind unveiled‘s chinese tower show , another improbable memorial and also wpa , if I remember . those wpa boys were prodigies

These buildings are so much older. Once your awake to the lie, one can never look at the world the same. Its like the Matrix movie but only reality👍
