This classic 1975 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Station Wagon comfortably seats 9, and looks awesome doing it. Come along for a tour of this "land yacht" before I pass it along to the next lucky owner.
I never thought a station wagon would be "cool" until I got behind the wheel of this. Immediately I fell in love with the comfortability, the huge vantage point, and obviously the space to haul things....mostly kids.

I was 14 when my dad had a 74 custom cruiser, got my drivers Lic. in it at 16. Raced the neighbours Pontiac wagon on the 1/4 mile and won by feet. It was like racing in slow motion! Thanks for the memories!

I brought a used 1981 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Fully Sized Beach 🏖 🏝 Wagon Station 🚉 Wagon. It came Fully Equipped, Fully Loaded Fully Powered, it had a 350 4BBL Power Plant under the Hood. It had all the exterior trim work with spoke locking hub caps. It was one of the best BW/SW’s that I ever owned. I enjoyed the back round music you had playing as well. Sincerely Yours Truly Ivan I J🤵🏾🧔🏾🎩🧢💼🎒👓🕶👔👖👞👟👏🏾👍🏾

I learned how to drive in this car!! One of my favorite cars my parents ever owned -- The 1975 custom cruiser, with the 455 cu in rocket V8. Ours was in colonial cream color with faux-wood on the sides and tailgate. brown interior, and power everything. It sure was fun to get a car full of my high school friends and head out of town to a basketball game. This video brings back a flood of memories of my youth, and it's great seeing the clamshell tailgate again. I've always had a hard time explaining that to anyone because it was such a neat feature of the GM wagons of that vintage. Mom and Dad eventually traded it in for a 1981 Olds Royale Brougham. Dad would only drive Oldsmobiles. My dad's cousin owned an Olds dealership, so I suppose it was only natural dad only owned Oldsmobiles.

We had a green one. A few years earlier in model, a 73 I think. We called it "the beast", pass anything but a gas station. I took my drivers test in it. The guy made me parellel park it!!!! Needless to say, I passed first time. My brother and I both miss that car!

Growing up in central NY, our Mom drove an amber wood grain 76 custom cruiser, decked out w/ every olds-GM option package, whilst my Dad drove a 76 98 Regency sedan, in red w/ the tufted padded interior. He’d trade them out every 4 yrs…. Given that by 1980, my 6 older siblings were all driving and or away at university, this was pretty much our last wagon…I do recall the many annual Nov/March snow tire change-over rituals that I had to lend a hand w/…. Dad kept a set of mounted studded snow tires for each vehicle so that all we needed to do was schlep them over to the neighbor’s Sinclair branded service station…

I owned a '75 in perfect condition for ten years, a lovely motor could pull a house down. I used it as a gig wagon. and won several awards at American car shows. Keep rockin' Gus. x UK.

Love it, looks great, shift on the column, standard in those days. Electric drop down tailgate, but no power windows, go figga? Power windows were generally an option in the 70’s, I remember begging my father for power windows, first in our ‘68 Plymouth Fury, then the 70’s Dodge “something,” but no, he never relented, “they’ll break, he said.”

Our family had a 1974 Oldsmobile 98 Custom Cruiser wagon, a lot like this one but with woodgrain siding, a different front end, and a white exterior (maroon interior). It was enormous. Unfortunately, it was also a lemon, but I know a lot of people had 98 Custom Cruisers and loved them. The 1975 Custom Cruisers were still based on the Oldsmobile 98 (as was the case from 1971 to 1976) but with round headlights instead of 1975's squares and retaining the taillights and 1950s-style tailfins of the 1974s instead of moving to the new finless taillights of the '75s. The Custom Cruiser would continue to retain the 1974 taillights through 1976, the last year the Custom Cruiser would be based on the 98. After '76, Custom Cruisers would be based on the Oldsmobile Delta 88.

Our Oldsmobiles were trouble free until the last one a 84 98 Brougham, the c converter went out and the transmission wasn't up to par with the others we owned.

Best car our family ever owned was the 1974 Chevy Caprice Estate wagon with the 455 cu. in. big block. Idled at 30-35 mph. Rocket on wheels. Would love to own one myself someday. Also, apparently, these ‘71-‘76 clam shell wagons from GM are the BEST vehicles to use in a demolition derby. But what a waste of a classic vehicle!

Heyy! Nice car man! I got the exact same car too, its a 1975 but with the 1976 facelift front end! I really love it and will be posting some videos of it on my channel next summer when I get it out of the barn. I live in Finland and I am pretty sure mine is the only one in the country. Mine is in pretty rough condition but it's drivable and I'm planning on restoring it!

Great wagon! One question: where is it illegal to ride 3 abreast in the front seat? 3 in the *back* seat, maybe, since it's meant for only 2, but, front seat? 🤔

I'm not sure why Ninety Eight script is on the front fender. "Custon Cruiser" script goes there. No 98 had crank windows in that time anyway.
