Ole Børud is the Norwegian Steely Dan's Donald Fagen. Absolutely fantastic artist. World class, but then the market for such sofisticated music is not big in 2018. One chord rap/hip hop and infantile babe pop has conquered the world. As Keith Richard in Rolling Stones put it: There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another
I regret I just learned about this group from their cover of Jay Gradon's (composer of After the Love Has Gone) song Nothing You Can Do About It. Great musicality, they songs, vocals, the whole band. Phenomenal!

I can't believe this guy has a Progressive Metal influence (I am a huge fan of Prog). This guy converted me to love this kind of music not just Metal and Rock music. This guy is diverse! Love his Keep Movin' album! One of the albums that changed my life as well!

Started as a 5 year old kid singing and making records in a christian context with his parents. Still does some of those things, and is a strong believer. Great guy, and a huge musician.
This song is harmonically more complex than a Coltrane's tune, surely it has more tonal/modal centers and... It's just so beautiful, love it!! Ole is a terrific singer/songwriter/guitarist, he's just amazing! :))

All fantastic musicians playing progressive, timeless pop inspired by the most symbolic figures and styles of the genre. Ole Børud is top class and I dig him. However, if there’s a hope that this music, in the present context, should travel much wider than Norway, it could perhaps stand a better chance if it is packaged with some visual concept and interest beyond musos with great chops. Musicianship alone counts for almost nothing in the world where this music sits. Sadly, musicianship alone doesn’t sell music, but stars do. And that goes for just about every genre of music. So, how to make a musician a star... P. S. Visualise Jamiroquai, circa mid-90s, performing with the stage presence of Ole Børud here - great as they were, they’d have been dead in the water.
