I have all three, the OLED is now my primary system for handheld and portable play. I miss the portability of the Lite, but that screen on the OLED is just beautiful and I can't go back to the Lite anymore as a result. I'll be selling my OG, but the Lite is the Pokemon S/S version, so I'm keeping it for collection purposes.

I was considering getting the OLED Nintendo Switch, but purchased the Lite instead. Firstly because I only game handheld and felt that the bigger switch would cause my hands to fatigue quicker since it is heavier. Second the internal specs are literally identical which means all the games I want to play will be the same and run the same as the OLED model. Third the built and the lightness felt better (I went to a store to compare to the two) it felt more solid and has less moving parts. Fourth, Pixel density - it is definitely clearer than the bigger models but of course the OLED would be much brighter and more vibrant. Both are great Consoles and its awesome you have the option to choose which one would fit your needs more.

For the switch lite for all the same reasons you mentioned. IF oled model was smaller and didn’t have the wobbly joycons I’d get that instead. But the lite just feels way better on the handsZ

I have the lite and have had the clumsy dockable version before. The switch is a portable console and the lite is far more convenient. The normal switch is a comprise console both docked and portable. Those looking for a lot of docked gameplay should consider a proper home console, such as an Xbos or Playstation. I love my switch lite and will never go back to the original model.

Have been going back and forth between which Switch to buy and I think I've finally decided on the lite. Having the worst time finding the grey color though. I would get the OLED but based on Nintendo history they are actually due for a new console very soon. They may say otherwise...but I would expect them to announce something before we know it.

Exactly. My only interests in getting a switch were playing games on the go, mario maker 2 and playing through monster hunter rise with a friend. It should serve well until the next console releases which is presumably 2024, and by then I could prob easily choose to upgrade

i play mostly alone, upgraded from a 3DS and got the lite. If i had bought the OG or the OLED i would play it much more in handheld mode anyway, so i got what made sense to me.

OLED Switch w/ Screen Protector HORI Split Pad Pro Case to fit both. Perfect way to go. You'll never have to worry about joycon drift, best way to play on the go and at home. I've played my OLED Switch in handheld way more than I ever did on my V2 Switch. The Split Pad Pro is cheaper than joycons also and feels very comfortable when gaming

Have you done a video on how to move between having 2 consoles? I have a switch lite but feeling i also want to get the OLED sometime soon however I don’t know how to go between the two. How do i keep my progress on one so i can pick right up on the other. Ive heard there was issues with this and that’s why others ether stay OLED or just lite but not both?

got a switch lite last year (picked the yellow because 1st game I was going to get was pokemon sword....so pikachu yellow). reason I got it vs a regular switch (and probably would apply to today with OLED) is....price. plus brother was buying it for me christmas (his say....but said didnt really care as he was paying). Even before I knew was getting it, was leaning towards the lite to save money. plus didnt want another device hooked up to my tv. I like the portability of the lite. I like I can sit on my chair, or bed and play while still watching tv (live in a studio), I dont need to dock. or undock. if Im leaving, just pick up and leave. all I care about is price and being to play my games

I already have an oled myself but share with brother and sometimes when i want get on it he using it. I decided to get another switch but i didint want play the $300 and $350 price of regular and oled switch. I figured to get the lite switch since its cheaper and from what coworkers and friends told me it works just as well as the switch but smaller. I just hope a switch lite oled or switch lite 2.0 dont come out when i get this next year. Only two things i wish they should have done when designing this was to extend the thumbsticks up a little and make the screen a little bigger. It looks like the screen could been bigger when looking at it but other than those two things i like it.

I have both of them, switch lite and oled (just upgraded from v1). I like both of them, but i prefer switch lite because it is small and lightweight, i can bring it everywhere with my small bag. i also play some single player title (pokemon and zelda) with my switch lite. But i need og/oled switch too to play local multiplayer games with my friend and family. For home use, i prefer og/oled because it is dock able and has a joycon (its so fun because you can play some good local mutliplayer title with joycon, like 12switch, just dance 2022, ring fit adventure, etc). But for high mobility and solo single player title i prefer switch lite 😃

here in the philippines the switch oled costs $460.. and a lot of people who bought it here are experiencing the green tint issue.. some people who ordered online were unfortunate to get a green tint upon opening their package.. some people are reporting the green tint on their oled appear after a week or two of using it.. some people who got their unit replaced are still experiencing the green tint issue on their oled unit.. so for now i'm sticking with my blue switch lite until nintendo acknowledge the issue and try to fix it which i think is kind of a long shot.. i really like to get the oled model.. i used to own a v2 and got tired of it so i switch to the switch lite.. but i realized i really need a bigger display because the fonts on the switch lite are too damn small.. so again if nintendo will not fix the issue i might settle on buying a V2 instead.. or just stick with the switch lite since i like how legit portable it is despite how small the fonts appear on the screen..

The lite has more ppi cause it's smaller screen and both run 720p in handheld, So my question is: Does this mean the lite looks slightly sharper Vs larger more vivid oled? Are the jaggies more noticeable in the OLED 7" at lower pixels per inch? Please reply. 1080p is rough on anything 27" + Imho Rules out most people's TVs lol I including mine

They say OLED is crisper. I have the lite but it is so damn small that doesn’t matter. Buy lite if you are under 25. At some certain age you need a bigger screen because of eyes :)

Especially when you have both right in front of you compared to looking at a RU-vid video. The difference between the lite and OLED screen is night and day. As soon as I upgraded from the lite and powered on the OLED, I saw the difference right away before even putting the two side by side.

i have a switch lite and recently upgraded to the original switch due to drift and wanting to play games with joy cons. Im worried that soon Nintendo would be getting rid of the og switch due to the oled coming out is this a concern i should have, im very happy with my new switch atm but am concerned and wondering if i made a mistake buying the switch. for some context im a stereotypical "female" gamer aka i only play about a couple games stardew, animal crossing, and mario kart so i didn't think this could be an issues but im worried

Oled is not next gen is the og switch with some few changes mostly this changes are for portable play on t.v display is the exact same thing plus the direct E thernet cable in the new oled dock

You're fine, OLED switch is like the "new nintendo 3ds" they released entering the last stage of the 3ds lifespan. Good buy for a first time switch buyer, otherwise you're paying $350 for a slightly larger 720p screen, not worth it imo

I have both OLED and lite. Currently deciding which to keep or just use the most. I’m not a big gamer so it wouldn’t really matter. I must say I took the life away with me last weekend and it felt so nice and comfortable in my hands while playing. However, I do like the experience of playing on the tv. Since I’ve bought multiple joy cons and the pro controller. Still not sure which switch is for me yet. As I said, I loved playing handheld on the lite but I also enjoy the big screen for bigger games example; Breath of the wild and some Mario games.

So all in all id say the original switch as its smaller than the oled by the looks of it so not as big as the oled to carry around out and about, plays as good as the lite, plus if u want it docked u can or just played in handheld.

Switch Lite is more for portability and cheaper to get for kids. Reminds me of the original GBA. I almost got one, but battery life, no rumble, and the drift issue with no easy way to fix held me back. OLED is like a premium version with the better construction and superior kickstand. I just bought one and love it. I use it exclusively in handheld mode.

Once you play handheld on the switch lite, with the correct hand grip you will never go back to the regular switch in handheld mode. It's so heavy.

I think you’ll get more out of the Switch OLED and 1 game vs. the Switch Lite and 3. The OLED has many more features, longer battery and a better screen in handheld mode. The Switch Lite is great too but I say OLED is the way to go

The switch lite feels WAY better in the hands. The buttons feel better too, they feel way less binary clicky, more soft to the touch. If they could somehow marry the lite and OLED… we’d be in business. Source: I own all three models

In canada the oled one is 450 and the lite is 250. I soley want handheld so I'm not forking up an extra 150 plus tax for a larger screen can't afford it

I was so excited to NOT get the OLED switch 🤣 (fyi if you already own an OLED television you are wasting money buying the OLED Switch) I respect it and Nintendo and anyone that went out and bought one but honestly I’m excited for the Switch successor and it hasn’t even been announced yet smhlmao
