Frankly, the “deep breath, look at the clouds” was worth posting this 😂 Good to see the pups and thanks for sharing the beautiful beach with us!

I can just imagine all over the world this interaction taking place in all different languages and identical dog reactions of blissful ignorance.

Great training those dogs have done on you. Got you twisted round their paws beautifully. Well done Olive and Mabel.

I love how Mabel’s wagging her tail the entire time. She clearly enjoys defying her human. 😄

My dog is so well trained that it only takes one word from me ... and he does as he likes.

Certainly true: seeing dogs enjoying a beautiful beach and seeing them challenging their master's voice with a cheeky look on their face makes everyone smile!

But “leave it” flies in the face of a Lab’s instinctive drive to hold something in her mouth at all times - second only to actual retrieving! (Or maybe eating.) You and the girls appear to be well, which makes my day. Your viewers warmly welcome any and all clips from Olive and Mabel land. Thanks for this sweet, atmospheric escape, Andrew. All my best wishes to you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Missed you guys and was hoping everything was ok. You never have to put on a show for us Andrew. We fell in love with you and the girls because you were being yourselves. The simple joy of you interacting with your dogs is what makes these videos so special and heartwarming. Also, at least Olive and Mable retrieve. Our Golden won't give up the ball either and if you throw it, she'll look at you because she wants you to go get it and then throw it a wee tad closer for her to get. The Labrador will give it freely, but has no idea what you want him to do when you throw it and is just happy to be there next to you ;P

"Leave it, leave it, leave it" The sight of a beach just before dawn and two happy dogs just leave me that memory! Thank you so much. Oh, and Mabel and Olive just ignoring the "drop it" it's just part of being a dog owner (the best retrieve and drop was from my cat not my three spaniels. Go figure)!!

You provided so many people an occasion to laugh and feel joy during a period of terrible loss and stress--ANYTHING you post as an update on your life with your dogs (and in beautiful nature) will be greeted with appreciation. As someone who has trained dogs most of my life, after a morning of calling my dogs and them not listening or returning to me, I am learning more and more how beautiful the horizon can be. Breathe deep, exhale, look at the amazing things around me. Stay calm and love your dogs.

Ah yes, instant obedience. Well done Andrew! What amazes me about Olive and Mabel is that they know which ball is theirs and only pursue their own. When I had two dogs, you could throw things for them but Harry used to grab both items thrown (he was the faster of the two) and would then run off with them into the distance. Meg would get furious (short legs). Mind you, Fetch was a one-throw game.

Hilarious, the looks they give are like they are saying 'Dad are you mad, drop my ball!'😂 💛 💛

It is good to see that my 3y.o. Yellow Lab is not the only one that likes to ignore the ‘leave it’ or ‘drop it’ command! I, too, have looked to the clouds and engaged in slow breaths. I have enjoyed seeing Mabel and Olive over the years. Thank you for posting!

We're all happy to just see anything with you and the girls. Doesn't need to be elaborate. Just their sweet faces brings joy to us all. Glad to see my bulldog isn't the only dog that has selective hearing loss.

Don't know if you have seen the erratic ball that Chuckit offers but it is a good turn of the table on those belligerent buggers. Our yellow lab retrieves very well, sometimes loses and often relocates a day or two later. He has been known to drop it within 2 to 15 feet as well🌞 Thank you Andrew, Olive and Mabel

The retrieving bit is the easy bit. “Drop”, “drop”,”drop”… the tireder they are the more “drop”s are required because they know you may throw again and they are hardwired to retrieve. Disobeying buys them breathing space.

What a joy to see you & the girls again. My hubby got our lab to drop the ball at our feet, and if we threw a stick, she’d bring it to our hand! I don’t know how he did it, beyond lots of patience. She loved to run on the beach. This made my day. 💕 Thank you!

What a wonderful day to mark the start of Dogs Allowed Back on the town Beaches Day.....here in Sidmouth, we will assemble at 2pm with as many paw footed friends as possible to celebrate, with much chasing, retrieving and holding on to that ball/stick/rubbery thing as long as possible......thanks Andrew for another wonderful video about the best relationship many of us can have.

Lovely Andrew, you could give us a few more videos of walks with Olive and Mabel and we would be happy. And not even amazing sunsets on beaches or mountain walks if you’re too busy to go there. We just enjoy dropping in and spending time in the company of the three of you.

Thanks for sharing. My dog will drop everything on command except her orange rubber ball! The only way we can convince her to drop it is by pulling another orange ball out of our pocket. Oh well at least she retrieves it. Our last Golden would only retrieve a ball twice or maybe three times. After that if we wanted the ball we had to get it ourselves. Looks like you are going to have a beautiful day. We are all fogged in on the west coast of 🇨🇦
