Oliver Cheatham delivered us an absolute gem in 1983 when he dropped ‘Get Down Saturday Night’. It’s one of the definitive Disco classics that still inspire me today and I just had to give it the Friday Funk Jam treatment. 🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻

Une original song used a SCI Prophet 5 and a Linn LM1, but its even better with the combo OB/DMX ! nice work, i just discover your channel and i like the way you blend all differents styles of synth !

I am not a musician, but I would like to ask a question: I notice that the guy playing this song on his keyboards has an Oberheim 'DX' drum machine. I am in the media - I am primarily a journalist and a camera operator, and, to a lesser extent, I work as an editor. A number of years ago, I was given the opportunity to buy an Oberheim 'DX' drum machine that was owned by a Los Angeles rock group called _'Huey Lewis and the News'._ Because I am not a musician, I don't need a drum machine, so I did not buy it. After that, a musician told me, "You should always buy something that has a musical history." What do you all think about this? If I am not mistaken, the Oberheim DX was a 'budget version' of the more-sophisticated Oberheim DMX drum machine, so I am not sure why Huey Lewis didn't have the DMX instead. Your comments are welcome. Thanks.

musical instruments are firstly meant to be played -- if you didn't want or need it, that's fine! and speaking to the "budget" nature of it, that is true, but at this point, so far out from its original release date, the sounds it can make and the way it's played is pretty unique, and can have a wonderful place in someone's studio. the added provenance of it being from heuy lewis is cool, but...i can imagine the price tag was kind of hefty! if you were a producer and really wanted to add it to your collection, that'd be one thing, but don't feel like you made the wrong choice or are missing out on something

It's a pretty great day when your left hand is on a Multimoog, and your right is on an OB-8. Random question for folks who know the Emulator: I notice that the hard drive seems to be accessing a lot while Luke is playing. What the heck is it doing?
