The most notable thing about the perry class is it's survivablity on may 17 1987 the USS Stark was struck by two iraqi exocent anti-ship missle's
which was proven in test to sink a ship in one hit but the Stark took two and was still floating. After beinng assisted by the Guided Missle Destroyer USS Coontz DDG-40 which provided damge control crews the Stark under tow was taken back to port and repaired

Plank Owner, USS Oliver Hazard Perry FFG-7 December 17th 1977. SR (BMSR) Jerry Caldwell (Conner) USN age; 17. Now age 57. Proud That I did my little part for my country, as we all should be.

I served aboard the USS Reid FFG-30 as a BM3. The ship at 1:05 is not a OHP class.

I was on FFG-40 USS Halyburton from 12-14 -90 till 5 Jan 95, best 5 years I ever spent anywhere.

Actually I want to know about all hull numbers of an Oliver Hazard Perry with current condition, cause I am impresion with her. So I hope some of Oliver Hazard Perry class not disposed as museum or preservation project. I wish my country will purchase this ship.

@Emo666Cali ...I would disagree, dead enemies (when that still meant something) is good...But how do you feel about one of these ships being used to pull 300+ Hatians out of the water after their countrymen ran them into the ocean? I participated in Operation "Support Democracy" in 1992, and we did just that from a frigate of the FFG-7 class.
