Princess Diana also had Indian heritage. Her 8 times great grandmother (maternal lineage) was based in Mumbai, originally was from Surat, Gujarat. And her son William who will inherit the throne will be the first British monarch with Indian heritage. P.S. Some people getting triggered here, i don't know why. It seems they don't know the difference between being an Indian and having an Indian ancestor. People who are not from India are coming to explain what being an Indian means. Strange.
@@hmmlol-yi9kv It's not about hindu blood, it's the type of DNA that is found in indians. And that lady was originally from India, born to indian parents and she then had a daughter with an Englishman.
She is my fav British actress. Her voice, looks, acting... Its amazing to know that she has Indian roots and its wonderful for her to go visit the place where her ancestors lived
feeling so sorry for the Indian mother who had to give up her daughter, and I am pretty sure unwillingly... Lived her later life only with the memories of her little daughter she never saw again!!! Life is unbelievably cruel for some people!!
yup they said she thought it was better for her to live in England but it's more likely she was taken away from her without her will cause her mother in law was English and more influence
I would say father's family was honorable enough to take and support his daughter instead of abandoning his issue with a single mother who would be scorned in society. Makes sense why her name isn't mentioned anywhere in the records probably to maintain her honor. But yes unfortunate for the mother either ways and Harriet who lost both her parents.
The Indian wives that Englishman had were having lesser rights then English women. Even english women had very few rights in 1800s. So most likely Indian woman had no say in that matter, most probably either they forcefully took Harriet or Indian woman didn't involved since child birth. No woman would wants to give her child away especially when there were no idea type of Life her daughter would get in England
@@Krishnazflute no it's highly unlikely that English who were highly racist at that time would want an Indian lady to live in England as their own. Indians were looked down in degraded manner. Even children born out of such marriage were considered lesser than pure blood Englishman.
@@NEO-v7r English government, not English people Most people in England didn't even have rights back then . That's the reason why nobody talks about it.
Very intresting story of a life of madam Colman. Nice to go through it. About 12 years ago in November, 2011, while travelling on a local train on mumbai harbour railway line, one English gentleman named Mr. Mike Stringfellow/Stringfellows, from Brighton ,England, met me . He wanted to visit a cemetery at Shivdi on the same harbour railway line, where his ancestors are buried. He requested me to show him a way to the same cemetery. He also had with him the details about a burial site in the cemetery.
0:40 as a matter of fact those are not your typical Darjeeling tea…you have to travel another 30-40 miles uphill into the foothills of the Himalayas to find the real deal. The ones you see are basically for domestic consumption at a cheaper price and you can really tell the difference when you compare it to tea from say Castleton estate or from Margaret’s hope.
Sadly, not an uncommon story right across the world in the early 19th Century and no less so in India where so many people died at an early age, British and Indian. Thank God there was someone there to want to look after Harriet and the fact that Harriet lived enough of a life to have children. Then on to Olivia, an absolutely amazing actress. BTW, some of my ancestors were equally, if not more, "inconvenienced" by their particular circumstances in India in the late 18th and 19th centuries. The fact that I am here to write this means that they too had successful lives. Most Victorian lives were full of tragedy and displacement and adventure. Dwell on the adventure bit and you feel much better for the lives of your antecedents.
@@DrStrange234 is that what your schools taught you? British caused most of those famines by taking the produce for themselves as reserves for their soldiers. India went from the second richest economy to the poorest in the span of two hundred years under the British looters.
They should teach or expose in detail how much carnage, the East India Co and the British Raj in general caused to India .. how much they stole, raped, pillaged and famin they caused....
So this talent has Bihari roots…Land of oldest universities of world, land of knowledge and awakening, land of greats like Buddha Sita Raama Mahaveer Ashoka Vikramaditya Karna Vatsyayana Kaamsutra Mathematicians like Aryabhatta writers like Kaalidaas..founder of ancient India Chandragupta Maurya and the place from where Independence movement of India started…so many greats !.. No wonder why she got so many prestigious awards!
But that was from her great great great grandfather so imagine how much Indian she must be having in her dna and also the woman is named harriot ,so is it an Indian local or ???? A British born and raised in India like Ruskin bond for example . @@vishal22893
It's not surprising. A large section of British artists and poets in the 17th and 18th centuries were born in Eastern India. Not only just British but French too. Eastern India around Kolkata was home to people from all over the world. US has its second oldest consulate in Kolkata.
As British people came to India in large numbers, there was marriage and mixed race children, who on reaching England melted in British society. Those stayed behind known as Anglo Indian and had a better privileged life till 47. After that they also mixed with local Christian society.
Is there anyone in here looking at Olivia and going," OMG, she's giving off strong Emilia Clarke vibes?" Olivia's eyes light up just like our Khaleesi's, and she's got the same infectious energy that makes you want to be besties with her! OMG Olivia and Emilia are my fave Brit ladies.😁
You know I felt nothing about knowing that she has an Indian heritage but cursed britishers even more knowing how casually they talked about there colonial atrocities....
She most probably doesn't know because it is widely not taught in britain. Also I don't think there's anything proud to be of part Indian heritage especially given that times weren't so good and the child could be a product of illegitimate birth.
@@nebula669at some point of time we are all children of illegitimate ancestors. Like era when no clothes was invented they all were breeding the way see breeding happens in dogs, pigs etc.
Princess diana directly shares indian mtdna of her indian 5th great grandmother ,Studies says ,the mitochondrial DNA, or mtDNA, which is passed down from mother to child, the daiana directly shared and linked the mtdna of her indian 5th great grandmother, and its very rare mtdna predominantly found in india, also news claims that her family used to celebrate her Indian heritage ,🇮🇳✌️apart from her beauty ,Daina is such a Gem of Pure Soul...😊 Source : BritishDna offical website, and Dr jim wilson generic expert university of Edinburgh in his youtube video

Bihar was a legendary location, they had the greatest kings, leaders, religions originated from bihar....until it got trapped in the clutches of marxists, socialists and islamists. It's pity. I hope someday bihar will regain its lost glory.
HMMMM AN ANGLO-INDIAN . THERE WERE ALL OVER INDIA. A SMALL COMMUNITY. AND GOT SMALLER AS THE YEARS MARCHED ON ! I AM AN ANGLO -- INDIAN FROM CHENNIA (MADRAS). ANGLO -- INDIANS ALL OVER THE WORLD FROM U.K. (2024).
But this her great great great something, I think she barely had any Indian genes left in her plus an confused as they said the person was named harriot
@@andreamessiasgomes7118 it is perfectly possible and normal for someone who is 100% Indian to have a name like that. Indians who are Christian tend to have names you would associate with a white European
@@Anna-pm3fq who are 100 percent Indians? You mean nationality wise? Cause only some tribals are 💯 percent indigenously Indians otherwise all are just mixed or migrants from ancient times.
Dear Olivia you have roots to bihar which is greatest land on this world . Just don't get scared of planned poverty and backwardness . Also you are now invincible you will just win win and win in life.
Didn't you hear what the woman said. Her ancestor was Indian because there was no record of their marriage. English women weren't allowed to travel to the hinterland of India, so the men had to find partners from India.
Its better that Hatriot was taken to England, yes she was seperated from mother. But children of these relationships were not treated well in India. Lots of this times they were sold/forced into prostitution because of their looks. There are some old movies about it.
Technical, ALL Europeans are Indians because the speakers of Indo European language migrated from India to what is now europe and bought civilization there. So your welcome.
Its bound to be. Britishers rule india for 190 years obviously the administrators got married to local women. There is book by william dalrymple white mughals talking about these alliances.
You already are of no value, doesn't matter whether a nobody lives or dies.....same thing. Fortunate are those who can associate themselves with this great historic land, capital of this Civilization and you clearly are not one of those gifted ones. Not your fault though, not everyone's capable of differentiating coal and diamond. Btw don't worry, Bihar won't even invite xyz's like you.
@@PradhanmantriBruhh Oh really ! Bihar is over represented in almost all government services beginning from the elite Civil Service of India. It gets more foreign tourists then Goa. In Agriculture and food grain production it is self sufficient. It is not industrialized mainly because it is earth quake prone, and is land locked so no export oriented plant will be set up here. Even Biharis like to invest outside since India is a common market. In crime and violence ( political or otherwise) it is better then neighboring Bengal or even Delhi. It's GDP is low because Most Biharis migrate outside to places like Delhi and Mumbai
They (BRITHERS) were foreigners they have the tendency to loot us but BRAHMINS had looted it's own INDIA way before BRITISHERS. What you have to say about that?
Western people used to seek ancestry in the biblical zoo a 100 year back. Then it was the Aryan craze. Now just something a little exotic will do. Can you really feel something (not like Kipling😅) for this land ?
Olivia is a lovely actress and I like her work. But anyone feeling sorry about the poverty in India should remember that the East India Company and later British government made this country poor. Of course the rulers in India are responsible too for the state. But after such a great loot, at least don’t pity the people and consider helping them as charity. Its payback.
According to genetics every person living in west of india has indian genes. Its because that how human migration happened. Thats why aryan invasion theory is false. Aryans did not come to india from outside india but aryans were indians who migrated from india to outside world. Yes indians are aryans. One of the ancient name of india is aryavrat, it means land of aryans. The first satellite which india sent in space was called 'Aryabhatt'. Note the world arya which is aryan. Aryabhatt was a great mathematician.
