This song is my all time favorite of hers. It brought me through some tough times. She had no idea what an inspiration her music brought to so many lives.
MULTI TALENTED GENIUS! The recent and unfortunate loss of Olivia Newton John was so very sad. But John Farrar not only is a great singer/writer he wrote and produced for the most part her entire collective songs. I give him much unnoticed credit for her great success. He had ta knack for selecting/writing songs for her he KNEW would be huge hits. This song he had her put on "Physical", its almost identical But, Olivia as usual kicks it out of the ball park. Also, I never realized that in "Grease", the producers/directors were coming up short on the films running time. He then wrote the BEAUTIFUL
I remember buying the Physical Album way back in the 80's and I couldn't stop playing it. I really loved Olivia Newton John back then. I had the video of all the songs from the Physical Album. I must have watched that video every single day. I was a teenager back then. 💖
At the time, this record was a guilty pleasure for me. I even dragged my first wife to her concert tour after this album came out. But damned if this album hasn’t stood the test of time.
I had a very big crush on Olivia when I was in my teens. I think she has one of the most beautiful faces I've ever seen and I absolutely love her voice.
Wasn't it great back in the day hiding away in your bedroom spinning all your favourite vinyls over and over singing away. It was the best therapy come to think of it. Olivia..such an angel. The planet's huge loss😢💕💕💕💕
I listened to a bunch of Olivia last night and I thought it couldn't get any better. I thought about this song today, played it and it is Fantastic. Such a talent, so many treats, so much happiness Olivia has given. There can only be one!
I love Olivia, I’m so grateful to have been alive at the same time as she… my life was enriched by her voice, her music, she brought joy to my childhood and beyond. RIP my queen! 🌹
RIP Dame Olivia Newton John ❤ I was a teenager when I first watched you in the movie Grease, and ever since you been my one and only best vocalist & singer, actress, & dancer, you’re the whole package complete ❤ I’m in my 60s now and I still feel the same. Truly the world lost a great true performer🥺 I pray your soul rest in peace 🙏🏻
I was 6 years old when this album came out. I remember my older sister listening to it and this song caught my interest. I remember being a very little boy listening to this track over and over. I guess it was my very first favorite song. I didn't remember this song until now and just looked it up and found it again for the first time since I was 6. Olivia
I love this song, and it's still relevant to me today, after all these years. When the Physical album was released, it was completely and fantastically unique - nothing else sounded like it, thanks to the genius of the producer John Farrar, and Olivia's vocals. Although she was hugely successful, I can't help but feel that Olivia Newton-John is underrated as an artist. A bit like Abba, who nobody dared admit they liked, until they it became fashionable to do so, then all the closet fans piped up! And aside from her talent and beauty, Olivia is truly a special human being.
I thought this one should've definitely been a single release. Great music, lyrics and video which actually has a twist ending. Love ❤️ it, Love Olivia always!
True, I grew up amidst some of the greatest Pop singers in the 80's, I listen to them still over the junk on they play now. Pop back then had meaningful lyrics, great instrumentation that made you want to get up and dance. I'm glad this album remade Olivia and brought on board a lot of new fans. As you said, it's funny but back then, I was the "odd" one, because of my pick of groups. Funny, Now they are some of the most widely remembered and 40 years later given their credit due. The Carpenters, ABBA Olivia. True artists with well arranged songs and vocals. TAKE ME BACK TO THE 80's!
the physical lp was olivia's thriller-not in sales but, like jackson's epic this lp had different moods and sounds and every song is great.! and before madonna there was olivia.just my opinion ...peace.
Olivia was better and is better than Madonna. ONJ is Classy. The so called Artist of today in 2021 can't sing and don't sing music like this anymore. Best era for music 70s-80s. Today, its lip-syncing even when its live with tattoos plastered all over today's female bodies. Big turn off for me. I miss those past days of music. Its never coming back..
I love this song. My favorite song from her physical album. I was 14 years old when this came out and played it over and over! Care free days. Rip Olivia.
hahaha omg.. I never knew there was a video for this song.. lol wow.. I used to love this song so much.. such a great album.. she's absolutely stunning!!!!!!!
Definitely a personal favorite of mine - not just from the "Physical" album, but from Olivia's overall repertoire. What a classic melody, and the lyrics are just so evocative, especially in the verses - you immediately get mental pictures of what she's singing about.
ONJ was a pioneer , at the time, she was a fashion icon and voice for pop culture after Grease. We will always have a special place in our hearts for her.
John Farrar was the unsung hero songwriter of many ONJ's best songs. He knew how to write for Olivia, understood her vocal strengths and weaknesses. Not enough credit goes to John. Here's just some of his greatest songs for ONJ: Hopelessly Devoted to You, You're the One I Want, Have You Never Been Mellow, Magic.
I am big fan of Olivia's and this album is my favorite. Truly the best of all of them. You rule Olivia! This is one of my favorite songs from the whole album 😍 it has that funky Australian vibe to it plus sexy looking guys. Olivia Newton John so totally rocks 🎵🎶🎼🕊️💖🌎🌈🌹🕯️😎🌞🌻🌄
I remember this TV special too! Yeah, I was about 14 and like all of my friends had a huge crush on her. Funny, I actually live near her now, but have yet to see her.

Please release this video album in a special deluxe edition of Physical. A few unheard songs are probably languishing in a vault somewhere. I followed her from Banks of the Ohio but this era was just something else. Daring, provocative, and sooooo damn sexy. Deserves to be celebrated all over again. Peace in 2020 everyone....xoxo
Hah! I was 10 and I remember that show vividly. And yeah, the video for Landslide is of course on youtube. That violin guy gave me nightmares! Heh. God I love the 21st century. I've been wishing I could find Recovery for a while now, and here it is!
I remember this TV special! I actually had this on VHS. Hope it gets re-released on DVD format! The sound is a bit low in volume when it was converted/uploaded
when i was a little kid this song was representing for me the summer period i remember translating the lyrics and for me it still get the sense now i am adult summer is a period where you make a point .. a state of recovery .. front yourself maybe .. travelling in another place .. being on my own .. or with other people .. :-)
