Olivia Nuzzi, a political correspondent for New York Magazine, has been placed on leave following the revelation of an alleged romantic relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The relationship reportedly began around the start of 2024, after Nuzzi had written a profile on RFK Jr. in late 2023. While Nuzzi admitted to the relationship, she emphasized that it was never physical, though she regretted not disclosing it to her employer earlier.
New York Magazine issued a statement confirming that Nuzzi violated their conflict of interest policies by failing to proactively inform the magazine of her personal relationship with a subject relevant to the 2024 presidential campaign. As a result, the magazine has launched a third-party investigation to ensure full transparency and restore reader trust.
Although the internal review found no inaccuracies or bias in Nuzzi’s previous reporting, the magazine expressed its regret over this breach of trust with its readers. Nuzzi, known for her political reporting during Donald Trump’s presidency, apologized to her colleagues and readers for not addressing the situation sooner.
