First of all, she has millions of fans and I don't think she can control them. No matter how she sent her fans to stop but some would never listen to her.

even olivia recognized sabrina's talents and artistry so it confuses me when her fans to this day downplay sabrina's success and talk negatively about her songs and talent. i do question how you could look up to someone and not stand up for them, but she was young and probably overwhelmed with everything and might've even been advised not to say anything. both haven't really done anything wrong and seem like nice girls
Totally agree w u. Sabrina has just been slowly gaining fame and attention. That doesnt mean shes a flop just cuz olivia blew up after her 1st single. Like she got lucky that happened. Sabrina didn't have that chance so she has to build it up. But doesnt mean she doesnt have talent. Olivia loved her. And like u said she was young. After a year being attacked, he finally decided to open up about he actually felt abt it. He never even said they laughed together. The interviewer said "Olivia and you laugh at this?" and he said "yeah Olivia is awesome" and avoided the question. This is just sad. Seeing her go from this to not condemning the hate when it all went down is crazy. It took Olivia so long to indirectly mention the hate toward them. I don't hate Olivia, I'm just saddened by the lack of empathy/accountability even to this day. Olivia's fans made Sabrina's life a living hell and still send hate, thankfully less now though. Obviously it's mostly on the fans, not her, but people have platforms for a reason. I hope if anything like this ever happens again, rather than sitting back, something is done about it. They literally could have been besties. They have so much in common. When listening to Sour, I understand how people think she's dissing Sabrina but at the same time, many songwriters take real life experiences as INSPIRATION rather than the truth. Everyone seems to study every word of every song Olivia wrote but in reality most of the lyrics were written for the story and song flow. That being said I wish Olivia, her management or someone clarified to fans that hating and speculation towards Sabrina AND Joshua isn't okay.

I know this is kinda a year late…but whatever to everyone who keeps saying “I hate how Olivia stayed quiet when Sabrina was getting so much hate and death threats” Olivia staying quiet was actually the best thing to do in this situation.
