Thing with Giroud (I saw him at Arsenal while he was there) his biggest strength was holding the ball up and involving others, guys like Bouanga and Griezmann (if he comes) will feast off of Giroud's knockdowns/hold up play
america used to be the place that good players would go to retire... now ts still the place good players go to retire, but now the saudi league are taking alot more of them
His wife is American so his desire to bring his family to what is, essentially, their second home, makes 100% sense. Bienvenue aux les Etats-Unis, Olivier. ☺️❤️🇫🇷🇺🇸
What people don't understand is that these caliber of players wanting to come to MLS is a compliment to the MLS and it's growth. Those who follow football religiously knows that the ultimate destination for football is Europe. But after a career in Europe, you can go to other leagues around the world but instead, these guys chooses MLS and the United States. That's not a bad thing considering MLS has one of the leagues in the world where the average age of a footballer is 25. And let's be honest, as much as the level of football has gotten better over the years, these guys move to the US because they want to live in the US.
Sunsetting in MLS in his late 30's. And then the anti-NASL crowd forgets we had guys like Peter Beardsley and Trevor Francis in their prime when I first started watching the beautiful game. Giroud can relax and chill in MLS--nobody watches it on AppleTV and relegation ain't happening. Enjoy Olivier!
