An absolutely exceptional organist with the "memory of an elephant". I love to see and- of course- hear him playing.His calm posture without show effects, which Widor already demanded. His technical perfection and his outstanding musicality..WOW 😊😊

Yes, the organist posture must be dignified, without exuberance, his function requires it. It seems that too many organists forget that principle, and it is too bad.

@@willygermond7605 Les Nord-américains en tournée ont l'habitude des shows dans les auditoriums, et oublient les bonnes habitudes. Latry semble issu de l'ancienne génération à la Dupré. Bon, Cochereau et Guillou étaient déjà critiqués à l'époque pour les mêmes raisons, et le clergé n'aimait guère cette starisation des organistes...

Joué avec une telle intensité expressive, le premier mouvement préfigure toute l’œuvre et la vie de Vierne ! Drames et recherche de la lumière, poignant !

Très belle image, en effet ! Un chef-d'œuvre ! Et cet orgue sonne merveilleusement bien, trop peu souvent cité comme l'un des meilleurs Cavaillé-Coll. Je le préfère à Saint-Sernin de Toulouse, par exemple. Et Latry impérial, comme à son habitude.

Anyone who thinks they have to make a name for themselves on RU-vid through a comment should first do some careful research. There is no Scherzo in the 1st Symphony!
