Join Ollie Schwerin in the cozy lounge of Vermilion’s Own, a new series where artists share their original music, their love of music already in our world, and a little about themselves. Ollie’s cover of Laufey’s ‘From the Start’ maintains the original jazzy tones, with a twist of Ollie’s indie folk influences and the harmonies of bandmate Hati. He is also joined by Samichoux (bass) and Jarvis Hill (drums).
Ollie Schwerin is a captivating singer-songwriter, producer and instrumentalist known for blending bedroom-pop, acoustic jazz and indie folk. Inspired by a variety of artists such as Rex Orange County, grentperez, and Bon Iver, his soulful music and wholehearted lyrics resonates with a wide range of audiences. At the end of 2023, Ollie released his debut EP, ‘from the room downstairs’, which he recorded from his home studio in his family homes outdoor storage room.
Although he didn’t have the musical training or professional studio, he aimed to create a body of work that could still express a raw, unfiltered emotion, and relate to a wide range of people. After the release of his EP, Ollie is now working with Vermilion Records to transform his demos of indie bedroom-pop, into ready to release songs. Keep an eye out for his upcoming singles...
