Okay Oprah’s questions are so much worse considering she knows what it’s like to be publicly ridiculed for her weight.

It sucks because I think Ashley and Mary-Kate will take their trauma to the grave. We might never know what happened.

Society didn’t fail them, their parents did. I was a child performer, my mom was momma bear.

Never liked Oprah. How dare she ask about their size when she was ridiculed about hers when she started her talk show.

I was honestly so disgusted by the way that on the first episode of Fuller House they said something like “oh Michelle’s too busy building her fashion empire in New York” and then they all stared at the camera all condescendingly. It just seemed so disrespectful after all the trauma the twins endured for so many years and the fact they have been open about not feeling comfortable acting in anything.

The countdown to their 18th birthday was the most disgusting thing in the world and it was the first time I saw that because they are only a few years older than me. Truly disgusting and the fact the countdowns like that still exist for young performers like Billy Eilish, Bhad Bahbie and Disney stars! So repulsive for people to look at a child and think “oh they’re almost old enough to eff without going to jail!” It’s still a child, 18 and 19 are still teenagers and if someone is thinking about having sex with a teen=child there is something wrong with them!

Oprah has a long history of problematic comments and behavior. I’m shocked she’s gotten away with it for so long

The 2000’s were brutal it was the age of bullying.

Poor girls. When oprah asked about her size I would have said “what size are you?” What a rude inconsiderate question.

I grew up with them in the 90s and I just never realized how deprived of a childhood they were. They never experienced childhood they just played make believe at it while filming. 😭

I believe they were being sexually, mentally, emotionally, and verbally abused. I loved them when I was a child. I pray that they get the healing and peace they deserve by God's grace.

They were robbed of their privacy as kids and they're taking it back as adults.

Asking about young stars' virginty was very common until recently. Britney faced that constantly, Jessica Simpson. The 1st time I ever heard any young celebrity say that's a weird and gross question was Harry Styles when he was abt 16.

She shoulda said “and what size are you, Oprah?”

While everyone calls them weird they aren’t they just want to be left alone because the world did them dirty 😞 ugh that is so sad I absolutely love them and miss watching them always will be a true fan of them

To me the most disturbing part is being in relationships with men 30+ years older. I'm not saying there can't be a love story like that but when it's a type, there are psychological reasons behind that and the implications are pretty... bad.

It’s the parents that disgust me. Using kids as cash cows at any cost. The children suffer indefinitely.

I’m glad they didn’t do fuller house, even though the cast threw major shade in the show itself (breaking the fourth wall). They were babies when they were in their lives and now they wana play family for $ again? Hell naw, glad to see them not be sell outs and stay true to what they want in life.

It’s interesting that Ashley was the one who hated being on camera AND she would cry and was “disruptive” as a baby on set.

Why do all these people roast Mary Kate and Ashley? They literally did nothing wrong. Except live their life.And they were being roasted for years which is probably the reason why they shut down. Imagine that. Having being made fun of in a sexual way. And Hollywood media seem all accepting of it. Would be worse if someone made sexual inappropriate jokes about their mother or children. Not funny right ?

I remember when the twins were turning 18, a bunch of media outlets had men talking about how excited they were that the twins would "finally be legal". It was so gross.

Elizabeth Olsen made the right choice when she decided to join the entrainement buisness once she finished college and was already grown

I feel so bad for thinking they got so weird when got older. I was young though and I never considered the things these girls have been through. I’m glad at least they had each other.

As someone who has been educating myself on trauma and child development the most disturbing part of the video was when you talked about how much they cried on set when they were babies. A crying baby needs to be comforted by her mother and if baby's cries are not answered, that is very traumatizing. It seems like everyone on set was more concerned about the production rather than the wellbeing of those babies. And that was just the beginning for them...

I think your instincts are on point about Saget. I recently saw a video online of him telling the most disgusting story I have ever heard about child R and he was thoroughly enjoying telling it in so much nasty detail. It would not surprise me at all if he was actually murdered by someone he abused.

If Bob Saget did anything to the girls, I feel like that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Cory Feldman said pedophilia is the biggest secret in Hollywood, so there were probably producers, directors, agents, tons of people we don’t know who victimized them in some way. But sexual assault/harassment isn’t the only horrible thing that can happen to a kid. They had very little autonomy over their lives. Their childhood was bought and sold. That, alone, traumatizes a kid.

You forgot that when they turned like 16 someone started a countdown for their 18th b-day saying they would finally be legal cause they were hot. This is the most disturbing thing I ever heard that happened to them.

This remind me of Britney Spears. In fact, their parents should be held accountable for this. Nobody can ever give them their childhood back. I'm so sorry for these girls...

Something occurred to me watching this. The girls started working at 9 months old & their job was to be a family baby. That "family" showed the baby physical affection, kissed the baby, held the baby, etc. That may have been no big deal for the adult cast & may have felt "natural" to show affection. I imagine the cast had no idea they were forming two future adults' realitiea the way we understand they did now. Ultimately, the babies grew into children & teenagers with *zero* bodily autonomy that entire time. They were allowed to be kissed & handled by non-familial strangers for short bursts of time their entire babyhood & beyond. I suspect the girls started to understand that, which absolutely supports MK's ED because it may have been her only mechanism of controlling her body. I grew up under a MSBP mother & learned my entire life under her was a lie. I feel like they started to grow up & realize, "We've been working our whole lives, but most kids just go to school & play sports." It probably started to feel to the young ladies like they were really getting the short end of the stick. A lot of horrible behavior towards MK & Ashley was treated as okay because the ladies were really rich. *They weren't allowed to have their own feelings.* Society really did fail these now women. I understand why MK & Ashley don't want the public to know anything about their lives. They've never had control until they took it. What an incredibly creepy, horrible childhood growing up as community property on a TV show.

"The infant can only work..." stop right there. The answer is zero.

No relationship is flawless, but they seem to have a beautiful sisterly bond.

Elizabeth and James is their very iconic high fashion brand. It's super high quality and amazing, they named the brand after their siblings. They are very invisibly famous in the high fashion world... they are doing perfectly fine.

Most disturbing part of the video is probably watching the twins in interviews where you could tell how uncomfortable they were when asked questions about when they become "legal" or kissing, etc. Breaks my heart to see their faces yet they fake laugh through it and to know they must have dreaded interviews because of the questions these adults ask them =(

I think there's tragedy with ever child star, but ESPECIALLY Mary-Kate and Ashley, because if you go into acting as an adult or at least as a teenager then you have a will of your own - you do it because it's your dream, it's something you feel curious about and want to pursue, etc. But these girls had no choice or say in it, their parents put them up to it before they could talk or understand what was said to them. How were they suppose to be developing and figure out who they are when they spent their entire childhood and adolescent years pretending to be someone else

full house used to be my favorite show, watching it back as an adult, i get so skeeved out by how the girls were treated. moreso than any of the other characters, they had to kiss their adult co-stars on the lips, be held, tickled, etc. by all these adult men who were strangers to these little girls. i don't have children, and i know it's "acting" but i look at some scenes and i think i'd never, ever be comfortable with my baby/little one being "handled" the way the girls were by the adult men on the show. even if things were innocent, the girls had no choice or say in the matter. even if nothing nafarious happened on set, i am sure there is trauma there, and that's something they could probably recognize as they got older - just how not okay their childhoods were. it's probably why the two of them seemingly are so close only to each other. all they had was each other. i adored their shows and movies and books and everything MK and Ashely back in the day. i still love them so, so much and it just breaks my heart to think about everything. we're all adults now, and yet i feel so, so, so protective of them. it seems like too many people failed these girls

my parents are listening to this with me and they’re telling me about how a radio show called doc and johnny had a countdown until the olsen twins turned 18 because a bunch of old guys wanted them and couldn’t wait for them to turn 18

These poor girls never had a life or chance to just be human. So sad. It’s no surprise they seem so depressed now.

That whole comment Bob Saget made about "doing inappropriate acts" also found it weird how the interviewer paid noooo mind to what he had just said!

What is sad is that you can tell they are very sweet. I wouldn’t have handle all of this as well as they did. I can only imagine they kept it together because they were together. I wish them the best.

I seriously cannot stand why E.D.'s are treated as behavioral issues as though the individual has complete control. They are genuine psychiatric conditions that are not controlled by behavior modification. It takes intense multi-level facets of treatment in order for someone to reach full recovery. That would be like grounding someone who have schizophrenia that had a flare-up psychotic break. It is completely ineffective and also horribly inhumane. Drives me nuts

I saw an interview on set of Full House where Bob Saget took a baby doll that was sitting on the bed in Michelle's room, turned it over, and pretended to have relations with the doll, laughing and joking. I saw this with my own eyes and it changed my view of him forever. Who jokes about doing it to an infant, in any context? It was sick. Sickening, nothing more needs to be said.

They still look very sad and distance. As a mom, all I see is they need protection and help with opening up and trusting. Unfortunately, their MANY negative experiences is tough to do this. Love and light to them and hopefully sometime soon they are engulfed with true happiness that it 100% shows💜

I've always loved and respected the twins. I'm happy they took control when Hollywood was closing in on them to completely take control of them like Hollywood has done to so many child celebrities.

I was 100% the dad’s fault. The mom wanted to take them off the show after the first season. She thought it was too much. In fact she never had any plans of putting them in show business. A friend asked their mom to go for an interview for a show looking for twins.

It’s sad that during the time Mary Kate was struggling with her ED, how her parents handled it seemed “normal”. The media didn’t question it and having seen so many other young people going to rehab, it seemed like that was how everything was “treated”. Thank God we’ve come a long way and now most of these issues have been de stigmatized. It’s just so sad to see how much the media hounded them. I’ve been a fan for a really long time and honestly I’m glad they are doing what’s best for them.

When you think about it, most child actors are way older then the Olsen twins when they started out and normally WANT to be actor's and land jobs/get famous. These girls were kinda thrown into it wayyy before they knew what they wanted to do with their life's. And in the height of their careers/fame they had absolutely NO privacy and couldn't trust anyone or just be 'normal' teens. Maybe they just decided that the famous life wasn't for them and could've forced them to shelter themselves from the world to regain their privacy and live 'normal' life's...

The thing about the Oprah interview that really bothers me is that she KNOWS. She KNOWS what it’s like to struggle with weight, and to have the media absolutely trash her for gaining or losing weight. I’m pretty sure she dealt with it her whole career. So what in her right mind made her think it was okay to interview teenagers that way? You’d think knowing how body struggles feel, she’d have been more compassionate. I’m so disappointed.

I wanna say that as someone who has struggled with an ed since I was 13 for 15 years, the things their parents did dont usually work. But I also want to say that they’re not therapists and arent trained to know how to deal with a situation like that. Panicked parents do things that arent helpful. The issue isnt with them, but with the people who took charge of her treatment.

I feel like if you’re a child star you basically have zero chance of growing up with any semblance of normalcy. It’s a sad truth about Hollywood.

It's so hard with Bob Saget, because I was sexually abused by my father from a young, YOUNG baby, to 7 years old, when my mother found out and they got divorced, but you're not wrong. I always had an eerie, weird feeling that something was going on there. I always thought it was just me. And now he's dead, and all everyone's always said that he was a courteous, happy, extremely nice man. So, idk?
