Susan Haskell and Roger Howarth are extremely talented actors and were unbelievably good playing these characters. I watched this episode when it originally aired, you couldn't take your eyes off them
Nobody on daytime played "evil" better than RH. He's such a talented actor and very easy on the eyes too lol (no I'm not a man--it just shows up under my husband's name when I post). I loved him and his portrayal of Todd all the way up through the D.I.D storyline. But after he and Tea got married the 2nd time, and she discovered he was faking the D.I.D. and he left town...I thought when they brought him back, Todd had lost his edge. They took away the dangerous, violent villainous character and replaced him with an almost corny, humorous personality that, for me personally, did not work. While I still loved RH even when he returned to OLTL after the D.I.D. storyline, I never cared as much for the character of Todd after that point. Others may disagree with me, and that's fine, we all have our own opinions. But for me, RH worked best as dangerous, scary, violent Todd rather than corny, cheesy, funny Todd.. I missed the edge and danger of the character in the later years of OLTL...And I never liked TSJ in the role. While I don't think he's a bad actor, he never fit the part of Todd for me.. Todd Manning was and always will be associated with RH in my mind.
Todd met Marty at a bar and they had a one-night stand that ended with a lonely Marty asking Todd to stay with her for a little while, but Todd blew her off. A little while later, they ran into each other again at the same bar and this time Marty blew Todd off. They had a couple of other snarky run-ins. Then Todd was failing Calculus and his friends asked Marty to tutor him the night before a big exam. She helped him, but he failed anyway. Todd blamed Marty and plotted revenge. Cont'd.
There was some other stuff, but he saved Marty and some kids from a car crash. The governor pardoned him because of his "heroics". He was released, went to work at the same hospital Marty worked at, found out he was the secret son of Victor Lord and inherited $28 million. He and Marty existed in the same town and kept having intertwining lives for the next several years. Marty left town. She came back years later and her son Cole and Todd's daughter Starr had a baby together. That's the basics.
Todd attacked Marty and threatened to rape her again. Her friend Luna stopped him by hitting him with a pipe. Todd almost died and was left with a huge scar on his face. Powell eventually confessed to the rape on the same night that Marty sneaked into Todd's hospital room and tricked him into confessing to the rape and recorded the confession. Todd, Zack and Powell were sent to prison. Todd escaped and attacked his former attorney and threatened to rape her. Cont'd.
See THIS is the Todd we needed when Mitch Lawrence came back to Llanview and stated harassing Viki and others. This Todd would have stalked and terrorized Mitch out of town.
There was a party at Todd's fraternity house. Marty came to the party as friends with Kevin Buchanan after a fight with her boyfriend. Marty got really drunk and had another confrontation with Todd. Kevin took her to his room to sleep it off and left her there. Todd, Zack and Powell came into the room. Todd raped Marty and then convinced Zack and Powell to rape her, too. Marty prosecuted. There was a mistrial when their attorney turned on them. Powell was eaten up with guilt. Cont'd.
Crazy how Todd calls Marty " the town pump" which is so crude & dispucable than 2 years later max calls Blair the town pump & Todd goes nuts on him. In a way Todd really get " his" for what he did to Marty. He went to save her friend in Ireland when he was finally happy & literally had it all. The day after his wedding when he was in love had a baby on the way 30million dollars a successful paper a new family , literally blood related to viki which pretty much killed her relationship w/ Marty now that Todd was her new beloved baby brother. I always believed Marty purposely put Todd in danger. He was ready to board the jet w/ her back to llainview & she asked him to stay to help Patrick knowing their were guns & terrorists lurking all over that little island ( something she never told him. She just Said her friend was in trouble not that men armed to the teeth were hiding if Todd knew that maybe he'd have been more prepared to play decoy for Patrick) she even looked for absolution to Andrew saying she put Todd in danger b/c she " subconsciously " wanted him to suffer for the gang rape. Andrew of course said " of course not " but Marty is always her most lethal when she's all sweetness. She failed to mention the guilt trip she knew Todd was on was calling him her friend & gave him a Celtic cross " for bravery " Blair even in her grief was on the money about Marty luring Todd into that situation. Yes Todd called her about Paloma but she asked him to stay to help Patrick w/ as I said the cross the pleading w/ him to help her. She knew Todd at that point would do anything she asked. I highly doubt I'd it was Andrew viki or Dylan she'd knowingly put them in that kind of risk w/o warning them how dangerous it was. So imo I thought Todd's " debt " to Marty was paid or very close to paid. His life was never the same or that happy ever again. Neither was Blairs. It was brought up time & again by both tnb that they never could get back to that gold balloon wedding. Todd returned w/ serious ptsd then sees his wife w/ the guy he got shot for plus Blairs pregnant w/ 9 months of hell for Todd. So honestly Todd paid for this for the rest of his life. If Ireland never happened he & Blair would have been together when starr was born added a son in a normal way. Pretty much Blairs dream right b4 she found out Todd " died " was the trajectory they were on. Of course it's a soap so Todd should have called & the one time Blairs banging Patrick, Todd sees it. Not hrs before when she was crying & holding his photo & her wedding dress.
can someone tell me the storyline between marty and todd, ive never watched otl, but since todd,blair,mcbain,and star have been on gh, im really interested in the characters.
They used to be together but something happened. At the party she roasted toad and he blamed her for him not going to college then that is when it happened when she got super drunk
