Natalie came into town trying to hurt viki. Viki had to always overcompensate with insecure needy natalie & never got mad at her even when she did terrible things like defrauding the buchanans bc she was banging jared a tipoff of Tina with david too. I always thought natalie should have played Tina's daughter sarah. But someone at abc was in love with melissa archer she got the biggest propping treatment I've ever seen. She immediately was tied to not one but two legacy characters. That was ballsy having her originally be clint & vikis kid & jess some stranger . That's a child thss grew up on screen like starr. The fans went ape so they compromised making her vikis but mitch's. Did someone also hate the character of Jessica? Then natalie got the immediate bad childhood story. I don't like when a show tells me I must love this character. Like tina cord & todd were popular & earned their spots before being tied to families. Cord all along & we found out soon I gather from clips but cord was great in his very first scene u knew he was a keeper. Tina was on for many years b4 she was vikis sister & todd literally got bigger than the whole show in his first couple years. Also these characters were tied to one family. Natalie was also a villain but we were told she was a " good guy " she defrauded the bukes as I mentioned & at least bo & clint were mad at her but viki kissed her butt. Also cord never called clint dad or paw until many years later. He & todd also kept their adopted dads names. Natalie right away was calling viki mom & bo uncle bo & changed her name to Buchanan.
