Can you do this during the early chapters especially before elusia?

I'm usually not into seed manips because hitting the perfect frame (in Pokemon RNG) is just too much of a hassle. This seems VERY doable though. Thanks a million for that - I was going to just ignore Olwen S. Also, not being a game dev, it's fascinating to look behind the curtain and see how they tie things together to simulate randomization.

Tip: you actually do not need to count how many rolls you did. Just jot down the total rings summon before you mass roll. Then mass summon until u run out or find Olwen. If u didnt find olwen, just do the current total minus previous total rings summon. If you do find olwen, jot the position shes in the 10 pull bundle. Do current total-prev total-10+olwen’s pos. Prevent you from messing up with counting

TYSM! Still works, just had to do this 3 times, i used leif's paralogue as it has 40 enemies, it made things quicker tbh, im trying to use citrinne but the bad thing is that I think its too late for her, im already on chapter 23 and havent used her for a while

Thanks man! Can confirm this still works 3 months later! I created an initial save after getting Leif back so i had the most fragments possible before trying this. I luckily had like 16,000+ fragments and it took me rolling 10 rings at a time for 15 rolls (15,000 fragments) to get Olwen. I did not like wasting this many fragments and decided to create a save on Sigurd's paralogue which had 31 enemies. Tired your method of entering and backing out 4 times for 124 ring advancement just to be safe so I don't reset too many times, and boom after the third 10-ring pull I got S rank Olwen with only 3000 fragments! Like you said, you could be more precise but I'm too lazy lol. You got my like sir!

Another thing to help is that the rings you pull are always in the same position according to the list no matter which character you are on. So if you were trying to get Claude and Olwen at teh same time, and you were trying using Leif to get Olwen and got an S rank Mareeta (who is spot 7 on the list), you could reset, pull on Byleth and it'd be Claude who is also position 7 on the list.

in jean's paralogue you have to count 21 enemies... the allies also count

I wish I knew about this sooner, literally got Owen in 2 tries after save scrubbing for hours.

What if I went into a map that had 34 enemies, made 30 rings and Owen was on the 28 spot? What do I do then?

does this work on paralogues only? do story battles work as well?

Hi! I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I loaded into Lyn’s Prologue which had 24 enemies, saved, went to Somniel; 10 pulls 7 Times = 70 Olwen S Ring = 9th ring of 7th Pull 69th Ring? (I’m crazy untalented so my math could be off) Now no matter how many times I enter the Prologue again, or if I restart the whole process I still have to spend the 7000 Frags to get Olwen S Am I misunderstanding the process or instructions? This could be likely, I also revisited the Prologue, left and saved again as the starting point and still the same outcome. EDIT: I’m a doofus; it can’t just be revisited Prologues it has to be new (I think) I just got it to work by selecting the new story chapter. It was the dark Cathedral one so, fun

Great video! The excel visualization made your explaination very clear. I think the reason enemies advance the ring positions is because enemies have slightly randomized stats and they might use the same rng seed, advancing the rng values and giving you new rng values for the rings. You’d need to look into the game’s code to confirm that but in practice this is how it works so I think it’s a solid theory we could test.

Tip for those who want to do this early: Anna's paralogue has exactly 20 enemies on it and therefore makes this just about perfect.

So I was all set to try this method but then I pulled Olwen S in the second group. Will give it a go when I unlock Byleth.

I've done the Ike Paralogue already, i assume it works with any paralogue? And if so, anywhere that says how many enemies there are in them? Update: I did it with Eirika's Paralogue, found a Finn S, tried to get it for less bond fragments, it poofed away and turned into an Olwen S. Hooray?

In the early part of the game I didn't know you could get S rings with skills on them. Now I can't get Olewn's 💀

Even a year later this video helped me~ using your trick, I got the olwen S ring after ch 8 in 20 minutes (including load time✨️). I wanted dire thunder for my maddening run So thank you for saving me 21,000 bond fragments and a lot of time/chapters.

does this work with the final chapter of the game? I've already beaten all the other maps and paralogues including the dlc ones.

ok im on a map with 34 enemies spin 200 times didnt get it reset went in 7 times. Respin didnt get in total 436. Then get it after 14 ten rolls at about 161 it being at 160 (596) total now would i need to reset 15 times to be as close as possible and get owlen S like i did at 595

This is very helpful. If you could enlighten much more we can grasp it 100%, would try it later i already have some of the rings albeit painstakingly hours to get. The idea kinda correlates to the per 10 rolls if not then quit game load > paralogue> wolrd map save. Now if i can ask Whats the reason again for diving twice into the dialogue and making a new starting point? And in the visual graph why minus 8 ?

Idk about engage, but I know older FE's had some stat variance on enemy units. I would guess if that is in this game, then the rn that determines the variance is linked to the same rn as the Gacha.

Cruising through Maddening and while I do genuinely appreciate this guide (I really do) I’m hundreds of rolls deep into this haha. Fortunately there’s like 44-45 enemies on Eirikas prologue and Leif’s never had rings made so I do batches of 90. But shiiiiiiiit it don’t want me to have it lol. I really find Lindon’s ability fascinating too…

You should have reset three times instead of only twice. Overshooting has no statistically penalty, where undershooting means you’re wasting those first 8 ring pulls.

Bro I only remembered that achievements or whatever they are led to Bond Fragments. I just checked for like the 1st time around chapter 14 and pulled out like 26k. I always thought they were rare!

WOW! This is a great video, thank you so much! Olwen S popped up after 5 10-ring spins (she was the 42nd) and after entering & leaving Soren’s paralogue which has 37 enemies, I was able to get her after 5 1-ring spins
