First I think it's fair to realize that these are the Paris Olympics so they have no obligations to anyone other than the Paris scene. What we can criticize tho is that, 1. This was Revlon fest, but they are they ones that got the gig so I'm not shocked there. 2. Your need to be knowledge by the world at large and race towards fame will be the downfall of Ballroom. You are all so eager to see Ballroom in the Olympics forgetting the politics of Olympics and what Ballroom is. Ballroom is a culture created BY and FOR Queer Black and Latino people, we leave space for others but that's who it was created for. Do you think the Olympics will ensure it's integrity? The Kumbaya company that banned Russia but didn't ban Israel even though the meet the same critirias? The same way we have seen Breakdancing being bastardized, expect Vogueing to meet the same downfall once it enters the Olympics. I beg, let's use rational thinking and not the constant need to prove you are something to heteronormative world, who will ABSOLUTELY exclude you from your own creations.
