just a walk through of my 4runner i swapped from a 22rte to a om617 from a 1986 300sd.
using doomsday diesel wiring harness, his adapter plate and fly wheel.
using stock 4.10 gears, with w56. sees around 10-12 boost while on highway. and around 29mpg.
swap i did on my own in my garage took 4 months from 22rte removed till i was on the road driving again. i had to fabricate up alot of little brackets and source a bunch of hardware from my local ACE.
i would do this swap again.

Nice man! I just picked up a hokey setup, 1998 Ranger sitting on a 1954 ford Chassis with a 617 bolted in, traded a 22 rifle for it couldn't pass it up, trying to get some ideas...

Late comment here, but what ball compass do you have behind your steering wheel? Additionally, what surface is it mounted to?

Is this the SUM-380645 radiator from Summit that is recommended by Joe @ Doomsday? Very clean job! I was expecting to see another hacked rad support and everything on toggles again.. but I'm pleasantly surprised. Very clean work!

MrJrakk Thanks for the support, I watched joes videos a bunch and used some of his products(altho I did have problems with some of them I tried to use) i didn't use the same radiator as I didn't want to cut my radiator support.

@@sorcererharmon1322 Do you know the radiator part # you used?? The one he recommended is very small - the dimensions given on SummitRacing are 23.875" Wide x 16" High x 1.75" Thick.

Hmm, I just checked and I used a very simular if not the same, www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-380645 So far so good temps stay about the same as the 22rte I had.

Yeah same one, space is so limited in the front that it seems this is the only rad I could get to fit even with some trimming on the sides. Radiator then needed 45° ports put on it to attach hoses. I have no room for any a.c. condenser

I think I just saw you driving in fox lake IL!? I have a jeep comanche with an om617

Lol nope. Live in michigan, and this thing sits in the barn the minute temps go below freezing. Originally bought in Idaho this thing will hopefully never see road salt.

Can confirm. My 94 4rumner with a 617 has a hard time getting to 60 lol. I think I'm gonna go with built injection pump and turbo to give it some more power needed.

Not true at all... my om617 pushes my 6,000 lb Ford pickup and pulls my 22 foot bayliner as well on weekends.. 26mpg average, runs on used motor oil and cruises 75mph on the highway no problem.. here’s mine.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FZtC8sWapGY.html
