Property Taxes, but yes, the roads not getting fixed from the huge taxes, definitely is a problem, think of it, you're poor, and wheel gets torn off it's hub/axle, or ball-joint pops, due to poor roads. Then that poor person is out hundreds of dollars, while it would've only cost cents to pour in concrete.
@@jamarharrison7895 Riiiight 40th Ave, 33rd, 36th, Miller Park, I could go on and on. LOL As a matter of fact, I didn't see Lothrop Block, Jaynes St. etc
@@jamarharrison7895 or what about 4-8 where the old High Risers were and Boyd Street over there and Sprague. LOL I used to live in the 4-8 High Risers.

@Nicolo Blum Why would I lie about being from Nebraska? I can tell you things about Nebraska that only select few people would know about, if they've been there for awhile.
@Nicolo Blum Here's one; When Omaha annexed a large landmass, just west of Omaha at 168th, because the family at 156th, wouldn't sell, it took years to get the family to sell that section of land, and they made a fortune after Omaha had spread out. What was a few hundred grand to them in the 1980s, was worth tens of millions, per mile.
@Nicolo Blum Here's another. Just years ago, Omaha spread out past 180th street. With the expanse, Omaha shut down the out-skirts' water-wells, to hook that part of Omaha, to Omaha's water system, instead of the water wells. I can tell you the name of the only one neighborhood that demanded that they keep their water-wells.
LMAO, one guy i spoke to in a bar literally imagined that theres a shootout or robbery all day everyday on the north in the literal sense of that phrase. He wouldnt go to some training classes at Metro because he was scared he'd likely get robbed or shot
@@Ti0midwest Its koo, its just old but since youre a mexican, make it down to 24th street between Q and L, thats where your people congregate. Where you from? The city started at downtown and expanded going west so everything east of 72nd and 10-15 miles north or south of dodge is the oldest parts of the city. 24th runs from the south side(mexican) to the north (blacks) but this is just a general rule as theres plenty of blacks on the south side and Hispanics and asians on the north. No one bangs off colors or race in the city so you can go anywhere, violence is opportunistic or personal but mostly personal.
@@maniac50ae14 I'm from the Hawkeye State my boy and thanks for the feedback I appreciate that ...and what a good place that's a must have to eat in Omaha ...??? I wanna grub on something nice and I heard 24 st is where the paisas at ...imma have to check that out
@@Ti0midwest any taco truck on South 24th street is authentic and bomb. La Sole Mio is a great staple of the city. My personal favorite spot in the entire town is this Thai food place called Thai Spice on 108th & Maple
The first scene starts at the Siena Frances House, one of the overpopulated homeless shelters in Omaha. I will never forget the amount of hopelessness, anger, and angst that was there. I stayed there one night in the dead of winter and vowed to never go back.
@@kareemsupremet.v.5189 before I joined the AF at 18, I thought slaves were a part of history. I'm from NY, Buffalo. When I got too Keesler AFB at Biloxi MS and realized there were white people still fighting the civil war I went from amazed to horrified.
Don't get it confused g. I'm born and raised here. And he was sliding through down north omaha. I come from a rough city. Salute to bro for slidin through. And that's just one section. He ain't go through the 40's, Miller park area, Ames Ave, fonttennel Blvd. But he was in the trenches fasho
It's a beautiful and happy place. There is one visible hitch: Obviously, one must have a car there. It's a life hopeless without one, even if a public bus operates on a main street.
If people really want to see how the hood is on a Friday night 30th and Ames & 24th lake are the best times. Make sure it's a hot summer night things usually like to pop off
Your not wrong especially 24th and lake!!! Or Walgreens on what is that 36th and ames or some shit like that hell when I was there Walmart on 50th and ames was getting robbed once a week
Wow! Seeing Nebraska now, makes me miss my family🥴 Used to love roaming the streets back when I was a youngster. I wouldn't do it in today's world but back then we had a lot of GOOD fun🤟 Born and raised, SOB right here👊 Graduated in 86 South High... Boy the memories.. Cheers🤙✌️🤟💨
Man this brought back memories. Moved from the "O" several years ago. But remember hiitting these same streets heading to the lake with a cooler full and meat for the grill
I love watching your videos. It is interesting to see other neighborhoods. I don’t mean this to be rude nor do I want to offend anyone. You have actually have inspired me to record videos in a similar manner; showing others what I see.
Man I been waiting so long for you to come here, and you only drove through one small area. You didn't even hit 16th and you was right there! Why not Ames,30th,48th,42nd,Redman,Miller Park,Spencer Projects, all the towers, sooo many other hoods. You didn't drive anywhere near where everyone, and everything is at. It looks like you just got off of the interstate and drove in a small circle and left. I watch and appreciate all of your work brotha, I really do. Seeing all of those different hoods, in all those different cities. But you had to know there was much more to see here. Why couldn't Omaha get the coverage you give to all of the other cities? I would really like to know mane.
@@getithowyoulive2. Yeah it's funny how the movie was supposed to be based on drug dealers in New York and Omaha but actually Hype Williams did not come to Omaha to film anything on top of that he had that one dude with the perm and bifocals eating a banana lol so he did us dirty
@@shortbus1127 bruh your name really fits. I find it easy to believe you rode the short bus. Chop it up however you want. South Bend Indiana is 5x smaller but worse than Omaha. Omaha is like pre school in comparison. Bro what a fucking ignorant reply Lmao omfg yall Nebraska dudes are clowns
shit he only drove through the bottoms and didnt go to spencer projects or south projects....he missed more than half the hoods in north omaha he aint know where to go
I'm born and raised in da hood of Omaha and still live in da hood. You missed a lot of "hood" territory. I just knew you would at least ride through Redman or the Spencer projects "Spencer".
Honestly, there's days things look tidy and picked up. It can look good with gardens and home-improvements. It's a shame the property taxes are hell, though, that would help people if we could lower the taxes so that poor people can rise up and build out their neighborhoods, fixing roads, building playgrounds, building pools.
That's because there's No Hood in Omaha!!! That's Why he went to that one Street... Because that's probably the Hoodiest Hood he could find in No Hood Omaha, Lol 😂😂😆😆😂😂🤣🤣
There is a gang that roams these streets called The Mutuals. They will insure you against attacks from rival gangs. The Mutuals of Omaha. This is real.
@@kingfatty_sea5885 it’s more midwestern but it’s just like every hood... I did a video on north Omaha hoods check it out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_93fZHelnus.html
People clowning Nebraska but let's be clear every state has lower income areas. I'm from Watts I've been to a lot of states ain't nothing sweet anywhere you go
This shit looks like WW3 is happening in it especially the roads might as well go back to horse and carriages because your tires get blown or fucked up at least 2 or 3 times a year living in this area and the crackheads are out in troops in the night time.
I use to live in North O an South O. I don't don't miss a bit. The country life is were it's at. Not going to lie it took me awhile to get over not hearing gunshots every night. But now what I hear out here is if I hear gunshots that's freedom seeds being let go of an good people have good fun
Thats the whole idea..be FROM Nebraska now someplace else. Within 3 days of finishing school and I was gone. Lots of fond memories and great people but not enough to hold me. Nebraska...A good place to grow up and a great place to leave.
Another person shot and killed last night on north 30th. It woke my son up. It’s becoming a daily occurrence. This video doesn’t show the majority of the hood. Clean it up Omaha, we can’t lose any more children.
Random streets don't make a 'hood'. I moved back to Memphis from there in 1994 after one year so I don't remember where everything was but there are some straight up creepy hoods there and they weren't even hard for me to find, and I never had a car when I lived there, all foot and bus travel. I will admit I had an uncanny instinct for finding the hoods in any town, no matter how spread out they are.
Hey their Charlie I see you are on you're way back to Detroit 🚗............you heading east but in the mean time you stopping in some interesting hoods along the way keep it up brotha! 👍
I'm from Dallas but I think you should have put the names of the neighborhoods you was driving through like the neighborhood I say in and Omaha is Camden
Dang you drove by my old church -St Benedict. My old apartment- Kellom Knolls. Lol, most annoying part about the hood is people don't know how to walk on the damn sidewalks and walk down the middle of the street 🤣
If you want to kill a lot of time on a mystery from Omaha, Google "Jason Jolkowski." Usually with mysteries there's a likely explanation that for one reason or another can't be proven, but in this case there's no explanation that makes the remotest bit of sense.
fix the roads and paint some of those buildings, and put in a computer tech company to provide jobs for untrained locals and this neighborhood will look like any middle class part of the country just with some soul
