Nobody gonna mention him being one of the most dynamic and interesting characters on House? Dude held his own with one of the best and most decorated actors on a great series
I'm always surprised that role isn't mentioned that much...he was a vital cog on that show and played off his dynamic opposite Hugh Laurie like a pro for years..I still re-watch that show every now and then...so good.
His mother was my principal through my elementary and what an Amazing Academic Experience. She changed the dynamic of our school to something great being in a very rough neighborhood. Love you Bonnie Epps💙
Love Omar. He's so deep, introspective, and articulate. His ideas and thoughts are so well formed and connected. He seems to have it figured out. Dope interview.
I already loved his acting and his looks now I'm going to read his book and I'm sure, after hearing this interview with the TBC, I will love his words (mind) too
I definitely went to 183 when his mom, MsEpps was principle! Omar came to visit us students right after Juice hit. I didn’t know him but I loved Ms. Epps. She was an amazing educator! I was one of her favs. Loved this interview!
Omar Epps is officially on my list of top 10 favorite interviewees. He could have talked for another 5hrs... I would continue to sit in my car and listen.
2pac trying to live out the character of bishop in real life is one of the biggest lies that ever spread about him. Bishop started to prey on his own homies. 2pac never turned on Digital Underground, he never turned on Thug Life or the Outlawz. But 2pac had no problem attacking those who he felt turned on him.
That's not what people are saying genius 🙄 they mean his attitude like his gang affiliating and his antics on deathrow not that he became the character and was following the damn character arch and alot of people who was around him pre deathrow did say he changed once he got with them so maybe it wasn't so much the movie but what he later went on to surround himself by
Pac was a Gemini! You never knew which personality you were getting. The thug(social aware) or the more tone down apporach or in the Middle. Power to the people.
@@jayant1314 genius did somebody curse you out whats the dang problem instead of just responding in a respectful way, grown men wanna wait til they on they periods to start responding to standard comments, with attitude, i would to hear all of the names of the PAC haters who said he took the role as Bishop literal because thats what these haters have been saying
This dudes resume is impressive. Hood legend but also did one of the best TV series of all time, House as Dr Foreman. Now he's in one of the best shows on Netflix, Shooter as Isaac.
Got to give it up to Omar Epps and Larenz Tate. True young legends still putting it down with their craft. Glad we got more authentic, intelligent, and strong black actors can diversify any role.
This interview is personal to me because my oldest son is 12 and we lost his mother roughly 2 years ago so I understand wholeheartedly everything he speaks on. Salute Omar ✊🏽✊🏽
@killa mike, both their catalogs are deep. It's tough but I agree. Let's not forget Tate was in Menace II Society, Dead Presidents, Love Jones, The Inkwell, Why Do Fools Fall In Love
One of the best interviews I've seen..His MOM is truly the MVP! When we Mothers do it right, this is the instilled mentality of our children. I have that much more respect for this King.
I think everyone in my generation should watch this. This interview was full of gems & reminders that I think we could all benefit from. A lot of us tend to gage our value & success based on social media, like Omar said. He said a lot of things I didn’t know I needed to hear. Interviews like this are my absolute favorite. So much knowledge was dropped.
I love interviews like these Omar Epps is a great actor and has put in the work. Not only does his work speak for him but the fact that his mother instilled in him what greatness is supposed be in spite of circumstances. She kept speaking King qualities in him...big ups Omar keep this going!!!
Q from juice, malik from higher learning, quincy mccall from love & basketball, jeff cole AKA “ you aint no cop j reid” from in too deep, mike or “big mike” as stacy would call him from the wood... just a couple of classic characters played by this man!
You always have a picture in your mind about celebrities who you like but Omar really impressed me humble well spoken and you can tell he's got some street in him, salute my brother!✊
I got mad respect for Omar Epps as a phenomenal actor and he taking on this mantle of responsible fatherhood. Responsible Black fatherhood is a salient issue that need to be discuss in the Black father. Being devoid of a father have a significant impact on a male and female psyche. Many of this young Black men are lost and need guidance from a mature father of Black man. And- definitely the adverse affect of not having a father have severely affected our young Black girls and ladies. Many are seeking male attention with no regards for moral or ethical standards. Sex, body image, and needy emotional attention compel women to settle for trifling immature men. I will purchase the book.
“I’m big Mike from the wood. Nah nah it’s not what you think. Inglewood, CA, it’s where i grew up. just me & my boys Roland & Slim” Lmao that’s my favorite movie
I don't understand how that 29 year old didn't know who Omar Epps is lol. I'm 23 about to be 24 and I've seen just about all of Omar Epps's movies. Very underrated actor
Chiiiiilllllldddd I clicked on this with no intention of watching the whole thing! He was droppin gems ! Very underestimated interview! And his shirt and hat crispy as shit lol he still fine!
I named my first son Quincy because of his Character in juice 💯 people be like aw cool you named your son after Quincy Jones and i be like hell naw i named him after Dj GQ 😂 #HipHop Forever
This has to be my Most Favorite interview, from any guest on the Show!!! This Man is definitely a King.....and I Love the fact that he's Intelligent and Humble. The way he speaks about his Mom's Life and influence. And how he speaks in forgiveness. My Sister Lives this Guy, and says my Oldest Son Favors him a lot. I have Mad Respect for him and his Craft!!!!!!!
Your comment reminds me of Chris Rocks "Bigger & Blacker" when he speaks about White folks saying to a young Black child, "You speak so well." Chris Rocks reply,"what he had a stroke the other day?"😀😀😀
This was a great interview that just flowed naturally. You see the growth in him as a man... As a young black father it’s so important to stress these points to our kids... letting them know what truly being successful really means. Staying grounded, surrounding ourselves with genuinely great people that support you but still holds you accountable and vice versa. It touched on a lot of great points.
This interview has soooo many lessons. I find Omar Epps to be such an inspiration and a vault of wisdom to success, being of service and healing. Can't wait to read his book!
"The Wood" is my favorite because I grew up and currently live in Inglewood. It brought back so many childhood memories for me. I can watch that movie over and over again to the point someone had to tell me to not watch it for a while. Lol. But I liked him in "House" too.
Its really important how you raise your child. Who you surround your child with. They need love and guidance (protection) to help them have a fighting chance to survive in this world. It shows that Omar Epps' mom was a great example!!!
Omar is the man much respect this dude don’t get enough credit ! He so talented and very intelligent cool guy much respect to him. He got that mad real juice!
The oldest one out of the 4 cast was Raheem, Raheem was 19 everyone else I believe were all 17 or 18. They would always make fun of Raheem for being the oldest.
This fine ass brotha has been acting since a young child; therefore, in the mess and microcosm of sinful Hollywood and maintained a sense of balance. You can see the positive influence from his mom and others in how he represents himself. This fine ass Black man is well-rounded and has not been isolated from his community. He is aware of current events and a force in our community. Good chocolate. Proud of his career success and his personal connection to his community.
Black don't crack. Omar looks great (only 45 years) & is well spoken. He's been in some classics but my favorite role was Jeff Cole (undercover cop) in In Too Deep with LL Cool J. Great interview !
