I was 23, the year was 1995… bought the CD here in Canada. It’s 2024 now, and in a blink of an eye, I’m now 51 years old… “oh do you remember we were young and just having fun?” And now I have tears streaming down my face as I write this. I miss those days, the music, the fun… it was a different world.
I was born in '88 and I can remember my mom getting this CD in an order she got from Columbia House Record Company back in '96 with about 20 other CD's. I remember listening to this song "How Bizarre" and "On The Run" all the time... Good times when I was young, playing my SNES and listening to this at the same time.
Agree. Like the upbeat feeling it gives you. You forgot to mention they deserved more attention everywhere. I'm from the States and remember them from the 90's and decided to dig on their old music b/c I figured they had to have made more good music than I remember. I ended up landing on this gem. Great stuff.
I will get the views to 1M by the time I die... Best thing to ever come out of NZ and thats from a proud Aussie...RIP March 2021 update 279k+ Come on Right On
I loved OMC from the time they first came out with "How Bizarre", so I bought the album which I still have. The album is an excellent mix of styles which is why I love it so much to this day at age 67, but for me, this song caps them all. Western pop and Polynesian themes mixed together is pure genius. "Right On"!
loved 'how bizarre' so much for so long, really warmed my heart to look more into this band to see they really were a beautiful and unique force of music, tragedy what happened to them. Thank you OMC for some really amazing music, and I haven't even heard all of it. I look forward to doing so!
RIP the two members of OMC Phil Fuemana (January 6, 1964 - February 28, 2005), aged 41 Pauly Fuemana (February 8, 1969 - January 31, 2010), aged 40 You both will always be remembered as legends.
My God, this guy reeked of positive vibes.(In his music, I don't know much outside of it) He should have made it in the States. I am glad New Zealand appreciated him, unfortunately way more than we did.. >:(
I absolutely adore OMC and this happy happy loving song! Even more because both brothers died so young of a rare disease. What I wouldnt give to have those days back again. Kids today have no fun at all, and are afraid to live life.
Like I said on another post, I did not discover this music until about a year ago. I guess getting old has taken its toll with respect to not paying attention. This is dynamite.
Anybody here July 2019?, definitely my favorite OMC song, such a great song, brings many memories, I remember when I was 14 years old in Havana cuba playing drum to this song, I’m 32 now, this song makes me remember when I was young!, thanks for the music!!!!!
I dont know about that one Taylor. He uses the same flow from how bizarre on this though. Very similar songs. How Bizarre wins just for literally how bizarre the lyrics are. lol
Such a positive festive atmosphere with friends, beautiful weather and otherworldly scenery. Looked to be an amazing day followed by an even better evening sitting by the fire and enjoying fellowship. I hope I'm right. Rip pauly; you went too soon but you're not struggling anymore. The world misses your kind spirit.
That album and it's release were underrated because of the immense popularity of "How Bizaar" as a radio hit. It basically got played out here. I read in New Zealand they did pretty well so that's a bit comforting. Just sucks they didn't stay together long enough to make more music and technically ended up breaking up over money. I know Pauly kept the band name. Then with Pauly's passing after the fact that was just sad times.
this is a very cool song.,.,just makes ya think of the bbq at the beach.,the 6 pack.,the steak and prawns.,the acoustic guitar and a bunch of mates and a lot of noise.,.,.,.,.,
I had this song on a CD I got from Chef Boyardee when I was like 12. It was always funny because I knew this song more than How Bizarre. Driving to this song on a beautiful day with the windows down is so uplifting.
Does anyone have full lyrics for this masterpiece? I'm willing to cover it and spread Pauly's heritage as far as i can. This song is so bare yet enormously touching. The fact that it's his own epitaph is utterly heartbreaking. RIP Pauly Fuemana, you're much loved in my tiny Moscow suburb and all over the world
music that ear when i was in middle school ...those days were the best.......how bisarre!!!! uhhhhhhh baby .......everytime i look around !!!!! is in my faceeeeeeee!!!!
