Wow I just bought this watch 3 days ago, and I can certainly see interest in this piece rising. It’s just so handsome, and for the price point it currently sits in (not for too long I think) it truly is a good buy. I personally think this watch is so much more interesting than the many speed masters you see- even if it does have far less of a historical significance. I think funnily enough many of the ways in which omega made this watch an “entry level” piece in 1997 only add to its charm today- no date, a thick modular movement and oddly shaped pushers all complete the military watch feel. The natural fade of the patina is even replicated in many of today’s military inspired watches. Excellent vid on the watch just subbed there.

for the longest time i saw the omega speedmaster as THE watch to have until i realized how big it was relative to my 7in wrist. although this watch shares few design elements i can see it as a great replacement. thx for the great video and the always interesting history lesson

I won an Omega Dynamic Chronograph in 1998 at Birks during the Swiss watch week contest in Montreal. I had my Omega Speedmaster Professional checked for free and filled out a coupon. I have the original model with the dark brown suede strap. I tried a few years later to buy the metal bracelet, but it was almost $1000 CA. I like this watch. It is compact, functional, discreet and stylish. I have a small wrist so it fits me perfectly. Unlike other brands of automatic watches (e.g. Breitling) it does not require much maintenance. My Breitling Chronomat 42mm and especially my Speedmaster are more imposing. So much so that I don't tend to wear them as often. The Omega Dynamic Chronograph is by far my favorite watch.

Thank you for your great video, I was considering this and the speedy reduced and after seeing both on hands at a local dealer, I finally pulled the trigger on the dynamic. This piece speaks to me more and I don’t see many people wearing this makes it even better.

I would recommend having both. The rare Dynamic III Chrono and a classic 1970s Speedmaster. Bought myself the Dynamic when it was new and waited for my dads Speedmaster. Just had them serviced by my Omega certified watchmaker and they are such a pleasure on the wrist. The Dynamic worked nicely about 20 years, earned a full service.

I love that park and took many pictures of it from the water but never I got to go into it but saw it when I visited my friend in Tacoma from the water. You see I took the "Duck Tour" amphibious bus from Downtown that went into Lake Union. This was back in 2012 when I visit it my friend and I can't wait to get back and explore the rest of Seattle. I agree with others in that the Moon Watch is a great piece for a collection but as far as looks go I don't have much love for them. This Dynamic is in its own class and certainly looks great. Thanks for the video.

OMEGA DYNAMIC Chronograph III, 5 stars rare bird... during the span of 3 short years of production, Omega only sold 8000 of this discontinued magnificent military style timepiece worldwide, definitely a collector item if you can still find one in good shape. The 44 jewels movement is super accurate, chronograph runs smooth as silk. For a vintage watch that is over 20 years old, mine is still ticking like an energizer bunny, I like it better than Speedmaster reduced, they are both about the same size, but the black face and yellow hand of the Omega Dynamic 3 chronograph makes it more standout and eyes catching

Both versions are in my collection. Bought them almost 15 years ago. The 3 hander is a bit small for today but the chrono is a gem. Avoid the bracelet with these watches for the shake of heritage asthetic.

6:58 that Targa Florio looks so cool, I hope they re-introduce another generation of the Dynamic, might not be as accessible or as thin as the modular chrono in this one but a 9900 equipped Dynamic would still look really cool..or maybe they could shave off an MM or two by making it a manual wind variant of the 9900. I got a 3-hander in a great eBay deal years ago simply because of the looks. The font, color match, and design is like nothing else. You are right- these are seriously underrated Omegas. They wear great and the movement is a bulletproof workhorse. (and easily serviced). Mine is from 2001 and its lume is better than some watches from a few years ago. Check these out- you won't be sorry.

I love the c.1997 chrono font and color scheme... I was hoping you'd cover the 2 different chrono dials of this generation. Anyhow, my choice is to own both. Speedy Pro first, then add Dynamic. I will never sell my Speedmaster, so I'd prob sell my Breitling if I had to, to buy the Dynamic.

I don't like the breguet dial, those stylised numbers are not for me but apart from that it's a stunning watch and I'd get one before a speedy reduced. I do like the speedy reduced but the DD module scare stories have kept me from buying one and also all the bell ends saying " It's not the Moonwatch man" would piss me off. Great vid Max yet again

Yes the breguet numerals are controversial for sure. But up close, the whole package is a peach. I almost can't explain why I love this watch. The heart wants what it wants

This is more special than the moon watch just because it’s a rare bird. It’s my new grail watch. It gets you in the club without the price tag of the moon watch. Such a classic. Think they will ever reissue this? Also, some places say it’s 36mm some say 38mm. Which is it?

But every time someone says “I’m wearing the watch that went to the moon!” I just say “allegedly” 🙃

There were two slightly different dials designs and the later models used luminova on both the dial and hands. I have one of the earlier tritium dial Dynamic Chronographs, which has a different design for the chronograph minutes counter. The tritium aged very quickly and before the watch needed servicing, the tritium was noticeably darker than luminova on the hands and looked nothing like the adverts which showed the later dial. My watch left the factory that way and ironically, if a handset matches the colour of the darker tritium lume, the hands are likely to be stained or to have been repainted. If a watch has the dial varient shown in this video (with the revised minute counter), and the lume on the hands matches the colour of the lume on the dial, and it's a whitish colour, it's likely to luminova on both.
