How to load a flight plan in the ONS:
1. Create your flight plan with Flight simulator (the values like flight level, type VFR or IFR... of your choice) The important is the file name, use this format:
[FromID]-[ToID]-[FLTnumber].PLN
For example, from Kennedy airport (KJFK) to Madrid (LEMD). I want the flight number 1009, so the file must be named KJFK-LEMD-1009.PLN
2. Now in the PEDESTAL panel, on right/up position, you have a console. Press the key FLT NO, and use the display to select your flight number (1009 in this example) and press ENT key for validate changes, DO THIS ALWAYS YOU CHANGE A FIELD IN THE DISPLAY TO SAVE THE CHANGES, then press in DEPT STA and move the display again to match with your departure station (KJFK in this example) and press ENT key. Now the same for destiny station in DEST STA key, enter ICAO name and press ENT key.
3. Start OMEGA and press enter to accept the coordinates and wait for route load.
NOTE: I know this flight KJFK - LEMD its too long for this aircraft hehehe its only for the example.

@FsFlightTV Use the CU to enter Departing, Destination and flight number as the video shows. Then, open the CDU (Control Display Unit) and turn it on. Accept the coordinates and wait just a seconds. Then you will see two options below, use the right one RTE (Route) and you will see your route loaded. Now use the EXE key to activate it. Now you will can fly your route with the NAV key in the autopilot.

@duglasdc932 Make sure you can export your FsCommand flightplan to the Flight Simulator 2004 format. The MD80 always try to search the flight plan in My Documents\Flight Simulator Files, so check you have this folder in or create it for the MD80 FlightPlans.

@TheBadameco If you can export it to FS2004 format, yes. The OMEGA read the Fs2004 format only. For example, you can use FSNavigator to create it, using the export feature to FS2004. Make sure the file name its the correct one, thats all. ([ICAO departure]-[ICAO-arrival]-[flight number].PLN Save that exported file in c:\My Documents \Flight Simulator Files folder.

Saludos!

Good video, a question. In my MD80 do everything as like you samples but I never load the flight plan, I get that there is a connection error and not load the flight plan, my flight plans I make with fscommand, but keep the formatting as is, I'm trying to make a flight to MMMZ MMMX with the flight number 305, the flight plan file called MMMX-MMMZ-305, any ideas?

Not sure in FSX, im with FS2004 (FS9). Using FsPlanner of Flight Simulator, and save it as (ICAO depart)-(ICAO arrive)-(flight number up 4 digits).FPL in your My Documents/Flight Simulator Files folder. On ACARS, set the flight number, depart and arriving airports, then turn on your ONS and thats all... Note if you are using another language of game, maybe you need to create the folder in english and try saving .FPL there.

@mcgalcri Ok, I'm fixed and say, I burned the eyes from reading the manual and did not find the answer. Do you speak Spanish? Where are you? ¿Hablas español? ¿De donde eres?

@mcgalcri Using this format, dep-arr-flight # but if I do it in the simulator or the FS COMMANDER, anyway do not charge it, I think it's because my fs is in Spanish, and the folder of the FLP also is in Spanish. What is the folder name in English?, Maybe if I think the name in English and copy files to it, maybe it will work

this acars is horrible, its much more complicated to operate it than in real life... ACARS= automatic coardination and route system (correct me if iam wrong) this thing= create a flight plan using the default FSX flight planner, save it in a corresponding name(dont screw up with that) and than try to load it using the instructions that were given in the built in tutorial. sometimes loading up the route fails and all of the hard work went for nothing.
