I agree with your theory. If Omega just add the sword hands and slim down the case, taper the bracelet they will have a big success on their hands. I also think it's important for them to launch a new (SOTM series) or new globemaster. Something in a separate category that can't be compared directly to any Rolex model.
Only time will tell on the theory, and I do hope Omega have this or something similar planned, otherwise all we're getting this year is more Swatch junk, and a white dialled Moonwatch! The Globemaster is a terrific under appreciated model I totally agree 👍
@@TheRandomWatchDude I'm really not worried about Omega! Teddy Baldassarre's interviews with Omega CEO Raimond Aeschlimann showed (IMHO) clearly that Omega is in good hands! My favorite Omega watch is still the (first) Omega Seemaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer in blue with the metal and the rubber braclets! Gorgeous time piece for a really good prize! Unfortunately the Railmaster series might be eliminated because Aeschlimann didn't mention it as the four main series of Omega (any longer)! P.S.: @miabeatz80 I don't know why people always compare Omega to Rolex! I really don't care about Rolex (nor Tudor). For me Omega, Tissot, Longines, Junghans, Oris and A. Lange & Söhne are far more interesting than the boring Rolex (or the more innovative Tudor)! 😛

Hi Mark I think your right but omega aren't going to get their customer base back until they start pricing them at working class as they had done for years.in stead of trying to be Rolex because no one likes to buy a watch which loose half of it's value straight away even if it is a great watch. @@TheRandomWatchDude hi this is why Tudor has done very well in the last few years because they have replaced omega because of omegas new prices have been to high for the working class. the only way back is to lower new watch prices but they are discounting in stead which has had a negative effect with the confidence of the brand.thanks John.
Spot on with the Birdshit reference for the latest Moonswatch thingy and a good talk through the cunning plan for a new Seamaster......especially if it were a new 2254. I'm not sure General Melchett at Omega is ready for a brand new Seamaster this year, I think next but I could see then release a sword hands and 2254 style dial in the current Seamaster model. Whether the MoonSwatches are regarded as "birdshit" or not they sell like crazy (over 3 million watches sold world wide)! It was (and we will see if it still is) a genius marketing move by Swatch Group CEO Nicolas Hayek jun.! 🤔 When I grew up in Switzerland in the 1970s the only two watch brand that were talked about were Tissot and Omega (who worked together)! Although I think Swatch Group (especially Nicolas Hayek sen.) made a big mistake by positioning Tissot as an entry brand among Swatch Group brands we are lucky to be able to buy mostly good quality watches at an amazing prize (see PRX)! (I'm a little sad Tissot is treated that way. But on the other hand they probably wouldn't produce over 3 million watches per year!)
@@MusikPiratCH no doubt that the moons watch has saved Swatch from administration. See my earlier video on that, when I reckoned the overheads on those boutiques was far higher than the revenue to justify them staying open. So yes, it's a good business move, albeit I wouldn't call it genius. It's just a logical commercial decision to take an iconic model and homage the crap out of it, then make it boutique-only, so you get the foot traffic through the door.
I just want a new Seamaster with Peter Blake style hands, indexes and slimness (if possible). I am not sure the current Bond style Seamaster will get them a bigger market share than it already has.
Totally agree re your opinion on the moonswatch and found your comments on it very funny. I currently have the most recent version in black of the SMP, worn mostly on rubber and it’s my favourite watch. Also hoping to add the 36mm quartz electric blue neo vintage at some point. I also thought omega were going to release a new seamaster 300 for around watches and wonders time but now we know that hasn’t happened. What are your thoughts on the release of a new one this year? Seems as enthusiasts we have been waiting a long time for a new SMP and we continue to wait.
Hello, and thanks for watching! Yes the new SMP300 is a massive missed opportunity this summer for Omega. All I can surmise is that they have gotten cold feet due to the massive decline in watch sales this year, and decided to wait until the market improves. The cost of new tooling, marketing etc is into the many millions, so I think they have the new design ready but waiting for the market to stabilise.
@@TheRandomWatchDude I think you may be right. I had also heard a fairly strong rumour about a new seamaster bracelet towards the end of last year but nothing has materialised with that either. Hopefully we will see a new one soon
There is no phonetic sound in the English language for people to pronounce Ομεγα properly. The G is a softer sound that the English tongue isn’t trained to speak.
@@Dr_LK Yes but I am talking about the pronounciation of the whole word. I cut people slack because unless you speak Greek you can’t pronounce the word. Omeega, Omehga we know what what people mean.
@@KK-qi6mt take it from a trusted source. Better to pronounce one of the sounds correctly (the e) rather than both incorrectly. G I understand is difficult for native English speakers.
@@Dr_LK There are actually three sounds that that are pronounced incorrectly. The O, the E and the G. So take it from any Greek speaker that not even the people in the boutiques can pronounce three of the five letters in Omega correctly. So if you can’t pronounce the word correctly then you shouldn’t throw stones at others. I don’t.

Standard pre W & W fare from the big O has been a new release of some form or another , unfortunately any hype will only last up until whatever Rolex chuck out. Lets be honest if Rolex released a DateJust with a crystalised bird shit rehaut it would be game over for Omega . Ok so lets imagine that Omega do release a new re-vamped 300m with sword hands .... it will no doubt still be like wearing a land mine on the wrist unless they manage to shave 2mm off the thickness and god forbid they finally bend over to the anti-helium valve brigade !!.
Many folks complain about the helium escape on the 300m but how is that any different from the screw downs on the Daytona Chrono pushers. It's simply a standout feature that creates an easy to recognize silhouette. I think if they can shrink it down and make it more square like the 90s version it will work better.
Brilliant 😂 ... I dont see the point in these plastic toy watches I would never buy over retail for these Omegaswatches 🫢 If I have to buy something that looks like the bird shit I would rather go for the Seiko Snoopy parachute or surf watch 😂
