I think the arguments about the size and whether or not the diamonds are wearable (honestly, just wear what makes you feel good) are missing the point - this is a heavy push into luxury for Omega. They see the money to be made in the "iced-out influencer" bracket that Rolex and the trinity are making, and they want a slice.
I'd wear the 38mm sized Speedy for sure. However, maybe if it didn't have a full diamond bezel. I don't mind diamonds at all. I own and wear a DJ36 palm motif dial with diamond markers. However, I think Omega is stretching it a bit to say this is also directed towards the male clients.
So, would you go for, say, diamond indices but no diamonds on the bezel? For a sans-diamond 38 in steel, you should definitely check out this: www.omegawatches.com/en-au/watch-omega-speedmaster-38-co-axial-chronometer-chronograph-38-mm-32430385001001
I think its an error from omega to do the same than rolex...if you can buy a mercedes for the price of an opel what do you buy? Omega is opel, rolex merceds,so i think omega will give more for less, with price realy under rolex they will have more sucess...if they follow copying rolex they will loose.just my opinion
Another watch no one wants. Thanks Omega. Anything to avoid redoing the Seamaster I guess… The watch people buy. Also, for the price I’d buy a Patek or Vacheron.
What The?! 🤩💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎🤩 In this economy; yes! The widening gap between the classes with this inflation is Screaming for Diamonds! Another blantant example as to how this Swiss industry is segregated from the reality of mainstream society. AKA - Mr Valjoux
Will this clasp find its way to less flashy steel models? I can handle the big pilot so don’t really need a 38. Smaller Tudors are more necessary to compensate for the slab of their design. Omega cases are more ergonomic than Tudor’s.
I owned the 38. Is a great watch for small wrists, but the black dial is the only means watch. The date aperture is different on the black dial. The women’s focused models have oval date windows. It’s really the only speedy for women, so the gems make sense, but I’d still go for the aqua terra for a lady.
I’m a Speedy fan, but this isn’t a gentleman’s style, which should be understated luxury, in essence not appearing vulgar. This might appeal to younger men and probably many women, but as for sartorial dress, no this just will not do. Not for me.
