A few days ago me and my mid gold friends had to play against someone who was a former competitive player 😭 We didn’t score a single goal and I think that’s the most polarizing part of the game. In its current state, beginners get crushed and it discourages people from really getting invested. But when things come together this is by far the best game ever made. The characters, the chaos, and that feeling of “please let anyone score I can’t handle any more pressure” is addicting. I’m super happy people are still talking about omega strikers and I wish that there was a giant resurgence within the community (Btw your cosplay is sick and order of business is one of the best songs I’ve heard)
I definitely think that the huge discrepancy in skill for the matchmaking can be super frustrating, but the only real way to fix that is to have more people play the game. It wasn't such a huge issue in the past when there were more people online, but now that the community has shrunken to the committed few, the likelihood of loading into a norm where you get absolutely stomped is way higher than it should be. Edit: ALSO THANK YOU FOR THE COMPLIMENT
Yeah, spot on. I’m a new player and sure, I’m going to get good. I trust everyone who says it’s fun once you’re good at it. That said, damn this game sucks. Getting better at it is a chore that I don’t imagine the average person would tolerate. But I will do it for Kazan.
I know i'm a month late, but as a former tourney player that just stomped a mid gold because I'm late coming back from the rank reset. it's not fun for us either :( I tried to reach out to the guy but he wasn't in the OS discord (if you guys play it and aren't in it I would strongly recommend joining it!) hope it didn't demoralize him too much. Hopefully I get to play with you on the field soon! and good luck on your journey up the ladder :)
14:19 Whatever it is that Odyssey is cooking for their next game I will fully support, even if I hate playing it. Not only because I've seen firsthand their desire to actually deliver a good *and fun* game, but also because if this next game pops off to next dimension then there's a chance that OS might get a ressurgeance. Also we have almost the same char setup with Finii + Nao, the big difference is that I got Vyce if I need to brawl, but hey Team Rock let's go
Couldn’t agree more with the take that the gameplay is incredibly fun and engaging, moreso than any game I’ve played. The competitive scene is also very good! In North America alone there are 4 distinct competitive leagues and a fantastic community of players. It’s thriving now, and could easily grow more with a new influx of players!
The professional scene isn’t one that I’ve kept up with personally, but I can’t help but think it’s such a cool esport! It’s awesome to hear that there’s so much interest in competitive Omega Strikers!
I absolutely love this game as well, think I started playing a lil too late and didn't manage to enjoy the active community as long as I'd wanted (started a little before finii was released), but the time I did spend on the game was marvelous, I convinced a group of friends to download it and most of us got to around 400 hours each, I even bought a pass. Unusual, seeing that I don't quite like spending money on free games. It saddened me seeing the "no more updates" announcement, cause the game already had like 2k simultaneous active players at peak hours and that meant exactly what u said, around 8 minutes on queue, which is what made me left the game. Not only for the queue time, but for knowing that there were gonna be just around 500 people playing the game apart from me.
It's nice the RU-vid algorithm wanted me to see this video by someone else Omega Strikers has a vice grip on. Game is way too fun for its own good. Wish I could have gotten my friends into it.
Glad to see OS fan content still pumping out! I started playing the game just after the Vyce/Octavia event, and I had a loooooooooong pause from January till around 2 weeks ago as the EU competitive scene was just god awful. I've picked it back up, convinced a couple of mates to have at it and we've been having genuine fun exploring the quirky bugs and overall hype the game offers. My story isn't anything special, I was looking at free games on Steam mindlessly and ended up stumbling on Asher..... needless to say Shield Sister is my favourite, Heart's Whisper being a close second and Long Way from Home being third!
I saw that tournament grand finals I think! There was a Finii goalie and I was so happy about it :). Seems really awesome to go to a LAN event for Omega Strikers
Been playing and quiting a lot of multiplayer games like dota, league and CSGO. But OS is just something I can't giving up. And I'm not going to stop playing it for a foreseeable future
I'm glad I wasn't the only one with those exact opinions on the game. I remember checking in everyday to see if they released a new Ai.Mi skin (my main) and I had my wallet happily open to new skins but it never came. Unfortunately, I don't live in the US or EU, so getting in a game is pretty difficult
So there i was around Christmas listening to my persona music, when an amazing track know as "baroque banditry" appeared. cut to now and my Rasmus still sucks but at least he's prestige 10
Awesome video, i also started playing OS back at the music festival event and it has become one of my favorite game of all times. I still play it to this day even though at this point its almost just nostalgia, but recently i've finally managed to get 2 of my friends into the game and i have never had so much fun. Great work, praying for the Sonii emote !!
Gnarly video! Very good introduction for newer people. I used to be super high elo with pro league in season 1 but dropped off hard after inky's introduction just rending the competitive spirit out of me until now. I can never give up OS entirely since it's where all my friends are at, I love this game and the community especially at the Lan's getting to meet all the beautiful people I listen to over discord calls. Shit's class and I have a blast in OS.
Amazing video man. I feel your passion, and it's the same passion I have for this game. And I'll keep playing corestrike and I don't plan on quiting anytime soon
Jesus I told a good 2 weeks to watch because I wanted to be in a os mood to watch and see how you did the video, first off love the video it is really well made and second off you are entertaining as hell I've been a launch player and have been playing a lot it's nice seeing a good overview I love this game a lot and somehow made a name for myself in this silly community it's nice how small this community is and everyone knows each other you are great and keep being amazing love your cosplay a lot ❤️ (Also I love Juliette a lot she is so silly same thing to her best friend hamster dubu)
When I got into the game I immediately flocked to Drekar when I had enough striker credits then eventually I got Rasmus because I thought he looked cool but as soon as I found out who voices him that was the deal breaker on him becoming my 2nd main but the final main I got was definitely Octavia after seeing her gameplay and absolutely enjoying her speedy gameplay during her release, then when the MV released for her theme that was what sealed the deal with Octavia Genuinely miss this game and I'm happy to call it my favorite game of 2023 though my best friends and I are planning to play it again soon sooo GO STRIKE!
THANK YOU BRU. She got the worst dang theme in the whole game. From such a cute character the least you'd expect for her theme would be to sound cute. Not to sound like some NCS typa shit. Same thing for Dubu, these really gotta be the most random tracks in the game.
I did! He showed me a Finii commission that he got and I couldn’t let myself not have one too! He pointed me towards where he got it and I commissioned some artwork of Finii that I’m going to frame soon! It was surreal to meet someone so good at Omega Strikers
I played Ai Mi mostly and got to gold playing solo queue. Stopped playing after reaching gold cause I didn't have anyone to play it with (and the long wait times).
You may have remotivated me. For me my time on Omega Strikers has been rough. Last two season I've been trapped between Bronze and Silver. Then in the next season rank reset I haven't gotten a single match. I paused for most of season 3 from A levels. Coming back I see why I left. I'm low elo on Eu Comp and it is not a fun time.
Getting better at a game with a small dedicated fan base is always super difficult. Many of the players still present in the community are experienced veterans. I’d recommend trying one of the discords or trying to queue with friends, it’s a lot more fun that way!
@@ondururagittandeska2004 there are some coaching ones too! I had no clue about them until someone walked up to me in person at AX and invited me to them
I love Omega Strikers, the characters design feels fresh, the air hockey concept felt almost new, the music and how it made you get more into the match when your characters theme starts to play its such a great detail...but no, a gatekeeped game is a dead game and Omega strikers does deserve to die and hopefully...be relaunched once everything that is wrong gets fixed. The way you explayed things is the exact way as anyone who loves the game would have do it but its not how the game really is. The game SHOULD be fun but it wasnt and thats why people started to leave, you also said that LoL does have tutorials that doesnt explain things but thats a lie and thats one of the main things why people left Omega Strikers, the game may tell you how to hit the ball and use skills but doesnt explain the importance of the roles, nor how to improve and position yourself. If your are good you can have fun but if you are bad then you just feel like wasted your time. Unlike LoL when you can run and farm to try a comeback, in Omega strikers if you start losing then you get penalized by being knocked out faster, not being able to pick useful awakenings and you get behind in level and thats it, you lose unless you are carried. The game just can't be attractive for new players on its own like the time when they pulled the animated video from studio trigger. I love the game so I hope that in the future they decide to take into account all the feedback they ignored in order to focus really hard on the competitive aspect and then relaunch it.
With any other game I might start to get impatient after more than a minute of pairing, but this game makes me more upset than impatient after more than 5 minutes of pairing, this game needs to be seen by more people
One of the biggest complaints I hear about the game from new players is that it’s super slow. As a fellow Finii goalie with 250 hours on the game, I understand their gripes… for the first 10 or so hours of gameplay. After you start really understanding the mechanics and learn to build your awakenings, the speed ramps up to the point where sometimes even I can’t keep up. It’s easily in my top 5 games of all time.
The speed of Omega Strikers is definitely something that accelerates as you get better at the game. I can barely keep up when I'm just watching top level play
There's been so much good Omega Strikers content on YT lately! Well, a lot comparatively speaking. Between this, Nurru's goalie video, and Ironcladlion's documentary there's a lot going on! Is OS back?!?
Hooooooolly shit. This video takes everything I want to say abo8ut the game and more. Omega Strikers ain't going anywhere for a while, as long as we exist as a community, the game will continue to exist!
Skill floor is to high and can matches can feel extremely one sided. I’ve showed the game to 10+ people and only 4 stayed for a bit longer everyone else gave up.
A joke arguement a few friends and I have been having for a long while is how to pronounce AI.MI s name. Is it A.I -me , eye-me , or Amy? I just call her Amy because imo, it's just a pun on ai and the typical name.
I copy what the characters say in their voice lines. Finii has a ton of them where she’s making fun of Ai.Mi and she def pronounces it as “eye-me” but I’m not about to stop you
@@Alyte_ simple, take EB, build cooldown reduction, and, this one is as important as it sounds troll, do NOT take dash range. dash+strike is your friend. ult counters core flip and ranged poke. he’s weaker into brawlers like rasmus and kazan, but he can be good into asher or juli, and best into full ranged comps.
