This is the very song that I dedicated to my fiancée after she passed away from leukemia. Now every time I hear it, she's with me once more. Thank you both for doing this. God bless! 😇😥
Sorry for your loss, I know your pain I lost my husband 5 years ago and I play this song on our anniversary! I hope everybody has a great weekend and God bless everybody
Her name is Amy Lee, Best female vocalist in my opinion. The song is not actually about a breakup, its about the death of a loved one. The music video is an artwork... Notice in the video how her feet never touch the ground and she’s in all white with bandages all over her. She’s representing that she’s a spirit and the one who has died. The guy is left behind with all their memories and dressed looking like he just got back from a funeral.
I played this at my daughter's funeral. She passed from Fentanyl almost 6 years ago. I'm STILL trying to figure out (6 years later) how to live the rest of my life without her in it. I have 3 sons, and I adore them, but I want to be with my daughter so badly. Death no longer scares me because I KNOW we'll meet again. My faith is all I have left. I've given all of my pain over to my God. I have to....to maintain my sanity..😢💔
Hey God is good he is never going to give you more than you can take i never use fentanyl or heroin but i meet people with a bright future as your daughter and this evil drug just taken away but i hope God is healing your heart and now your guardian angel 😇 is taking care of you and your family peace 🕊️ blessings 🙏 love ❤️ God loves you
I lost my bf to suicide in May 2002. Everytime I hear this I cry even now. She portrays perfectly the haunting sorrow with her voice, the rage with the rock portion, the angst and inability to escape with her lyrics. I'm glad you reacted to this.
This song means so much to me. Everytime I hear it I think about Alex, he passed away in 2010, he was an amazing man. I'm happy we had 7 amazing years together. He is my guardian angel now.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Your story got to me that I had to reply. I too know loss. It's so strange, bittersweet and yet so beautiful that in loss we feel a deep sadness and yet we also still feel a happiness and love that they still make us feel and their memories bring up the warm life that can never be matched more than the cold after. Continue on
This song is simply glorious, her greatest, and that is saying a lot because all her songs are amazing. Going Under, Lithium, Call Me When You're Sober, Everybody's Fool...react to them all.
Nobody does it quite like our Amy. She is absolutely amazing, beautiful, and uniquely talented as a singer/songwriter/performer. God bless her and thank you both for another wonderful reaction. Music of this calibre needs great reactions like yours.
Amy Lee is fantastic. This song is my favorite- so emotional. Another band with a female vocalist is Nightwish. Their vocalist Floor Jansen is insanely good. She does everything from death growls to operatic soaring vocals. She sings in multiple languages and just about every genre. Put her on the list for female friday you wont regret it. A good starting point is "Ghost Love Score". If you like blues music check out Beth Hart "Am I the One" Live at Paradiso. OMG - what a performance!
There is a band called Seether that has a song featuring Amy Lee. It's called "Broken". The voice of their lead singer, Shaun Morgan, is a perfect pairing with Amy Lee. I know you like live videos, but in this case I recommend the official video so you don't miss any part of the song. Good news is, you don't have to wait for a Female Friday, since it is a duet with a male! Also, I know y'all really liked Halestorm when you reacted to them/her and I just found a duet they did with Amy Lee called "Break In'. I think you will like it.
Great reaction guys. I’m pretty sure she’s singing about her little sister who passed away 😞 it is a very emotional song. 👋🏼🙌🏼👍🏼👏🏼💜🇨🇦 P.S. never apologize for getting emotional on your reaction channel.
Agreed, Getting a little emotional just means the song really hit home as it was intended. Many of us have had some mental stuff happen in our lives, the important thing is we came out on the other side a better, more understanding person more in touch with society and with respect for everyone. You should never feel you have to keep this stuff a secret, it doesn't make you less of a person.
I LOVE your reactions & analysis. She has the most enchanting ethereal voice ever. I get chills every single time and literally had chills throughout especially watching your reactions. ❤ 😇
I'm sitting here in a ball of tears...struggling to find that light at the end of the tunnel, but watching you admit to your own issues with mental health makes me feel that I'm not completely alone. Thanks for that.
This gets to me. I know my friend. It may seem that way because of separation but we're not alone in feeling and hopefully somehow and someway we'll all share healing and happiness.
Jay, you are NOT alone. I have battled the pain for decades, but there is always love and light. Need to talk? Hit me up anytime. That’s what the Rob Squad is about, love for one another.
I have had mental health and emotional struggles in the past, as most people will confront at some point in their life. The part of this song that always makes me cry is the "I've been alone, I'm alone!" part. Even though I am now in a very happy place, that still touches me. When I was is that dark place, a friend told me that I was "wrapped in a cloak of love and support that I did not even know was there. Take comfort from its warmth, for one day the sun will shine again and you will forget you ever needed it." It's true, the only time I remember the cloak is when I tell other's of its existence. Many, many people support you without you even knowing about it. The sun will shine again. Be patient and love yourself.
When this song came out, I had lost residential custody of my children. I lived in Virginia and my kids were in Kansas. My youngest was 5 years old and this became our song. When I was missing her I'd play this and she did too. One day on the phone she said, "Mom I can't listen to it because I cry when I hear it because I miss you." I was like, "It's okay baby, I don't want you to be sad and cry. Find a happier song to listen to." Now she's 25 and when we hear the song we both tear up and hold each other.
This and “Hello” were written for Amy’s sister who she tragically lost when they were kids. If you really want to complete the picture please react to “Hello” and you will understand what drives Amy. By the way, Amy is also a world class pianist
@@corbenikgaming7688 No, her sister died at the age of 3. It was an unidentified illness. Either way, this song was written by Ben Moody about the loss of his grandfather. The song that was written for her sister is Hello.
I was young..had my first break up wn this song came out...but the older i get..and the more sores you hear and see on the news and around you...this song gets even more...meaningful...painful...you understand it more and feel it more....ths song is classic...
This song is a VERY emotional song, anyone who listens to this song will get emotional. The reason is because of the pain she is able to portray in it combined with the inhuman innocence and purity she is able to keep in her voice.
Another great female front band is NIGHTWISH (symphonic metal band from Finland) with Floor Jansen (Dutch) on lead vocals (all songs are in English, and she has perfect diction). Ghost Love Score (live at Wacken 2013) is a great place to start! I say start because they are one of the most criminally unknown bands in North America, but have a 25 year catalogue of music. It’s an amazing, rich, and deep rabbit hole of music that I’m very very confident you two will both love. So much so that I would bet good money the band will make multiple appearances on your channel outside female Friday.
This song was originally Amy and piano only, and those two were in truth the entire band when they started. It was just the two of them, some instruments and some mixing equipment, just cutting demos at home. When they would tour, they had a band to actually perform all the music live, and when they would do this song live, the band would always come in right there near the end like that, just as a bonus. So when they did the music video, they actually invited their concert band into the studio to reprise their parts on camera and they shot the stage version of the song. Really awesome story.
Amy Lee is a great singer, But if you want to go next level check out Nightwish- Ghost Love Score video from Wacken 2013. I think Floor Jansen will blow your mind like she did mine.
One of the greatest creations in the history of planet Earth, musically or otherwise!!! If you want to hear the darker side of Evanescence, try "Lies." It gets pretty hard & grungy. :)
This song always brings to mind my trauma sponge, my little girl (dog) Molly. I deal with schizophrenia and for five years she made my bad days better. She is one of the reasons I'm still alive today. She passed away and it ripped my heart out. I think of her every time I hear this song.
This makes me miss my brother. Its tge bit about wiping away ur tears and ur fears and holding ur hand. He was that for me. HE has been gone 27 years (he was just 24 and i was 23) but we miss him. I dont think of him too much because its painful. Im 51 but my eyes are sreaming like i was little again. I love you bobby! You were always there for me and i still feel ur here. Ur still one of 'us 5 kids' lol. we love you. Xxx ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This shows her ability to sing. It's much harder to sing like this and sound this outrageous with this much control. You should check out "Call me when your Sober" next.
Love Amy Lee... but seriously you guys need to react to Nightwish ghost love score live a wacken... if Amy Lee is a ghostly Angel... Floor Jansen is a Valkyrian shield maiden... you must must react to this on a Female Friday!!!!!
You should check out a band called Nightwish. The singer will remind you of Amy Lee. The guy that writes the music is known as the metal Mozart. Unbelievable band start with ghost love score. You won't regret it
Do you want a new favorite female vocalist?? If you haven't already reacted to either her solo stuff, ou've got to check out one of the top tier female rock/metal vocalists, Floor Jansen. She's the current singer for the symphonic metal band Nightwish. Easily one of the best active singers in the world today
Please if you haven't already you should watch and listen to Lithium and call me when you're sober. Both such amazing songs and her voice is amazing in everything she does.
This is my favorite song by them. Amy Lee has the most beautiful voice. I've been listening to them, since the beginning. Loved your guy's reaction soo much.
You should give Brandi Carlile a chance, not many people react to her but she’s amazing! Try “Party of One” ft Sam Smith their voices put together along with the piano and the strings it’s insanely beautiful.
You guys are amazing! Thank you for being so transparent. It really helps a lot of people relate. We all have experienced a loss that takes us to a very dark place. This song is also a reminder of that time but also the healing that has transpired since then. Thanks Y’all! ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for your reaction to MY IMMORTAL. It is, legitimately, one of the most beautiful (and, yes, saddest) songs of the past 20 years. However--I think you guys did yourself a disservice by listening to the “band” version of the song. It doesn’t require the heavy rock chords. The original version, the one that first appeared on FALLEN, brings me to tears every time I hear it due to Amy’s voice and the VIOLINS/orchestra that play right after her “I’ve been alone all along.” It adds that line SUCH heft and such an emotional punch. You guys should check it out.
Amy Lee is one of the few women artists I would put on a pedestal with my personal favorite, Ann Wilson! Ann is still #1, but Amy is nipping the heels and doing a damn fine job of it. Keep rocking the “female Friday” zone. All my favorites Ann, Amy and now Amber. Rock on girl, and keep bringing Rob along for the ride.
Have you reacted to anything from Floor Jansen with /or without Nightwish? If you like female rockers! She is out of this world 😉 I am convinced she can sing anything at all
I think my favorite part of this song is that you can always find meaning in it that somehow resonates with your life. Whether its through the lyrics or just the emotions it evokes. I've been listening to this song a lot lately because her voice just sums up all my emotions, even if my situation doesn't quite match the lyrics. My husbands dad took his own life last year. I've had to hold his hand through all of this and we're not even in our 30s yet, we weren't prepared to deal with this kind of loss and heartbreak so early in our lives. I've had to calm him in the middle of the night as he battles the night terrors and sleep paralysis. The chorus of this song just speaks so strongly to me. And ever since his dads passing, ive started getting anxiety attacks anytime my husband leaves the house, i only just connected it a few days ago that its because im terrified of him never coming back. Its been such a rough time. But this song always seems to calm me.
There's also a version without the rock part, where it just maintains the slow piano throughout. Both are great. Just kind of depends which mood you're in.
One of the most beautiful songs ever made. Amy Lee's voice is indescribable, and I loved Evanescence from the first listen years ago. Now, means so much more to me. My Mom battled cancer for 3 years before passing almost 2 yrs ago. No matter what Im doing, how Im feeling, this song will make me cry in the memory of her.
Don't be sorry about getting emotional brother. I'm almost 50 and work in a tough industry where you don't show emotions. Like you I've had serious battles with depression and anxiety. The best thing you can do is let yourself feel what you feel and understand it's normal to feel emotional at times. I've had amazing friends and family that have helped me through it .you are real and decent. Something to be proud of. You have a fantastic beautiful missus by your side as do I with my loving patient girlfriend. This sort of channel is a fantastic way to realise how good life really is. Keep up the awesome work both of you. My immortal always brings a tear to my eye but make me contently happy. Best wishes to you guys from us in sunny Queensland Australia 😃😃
I’m joining the chorus of people recommending that you guys react to “Ghost Love Score” by Nightwish. Make sure it’s the “official live” version, recorded at Wacken, an open air festival in Germany. (The song 10 minutes long, so I recommend paying for RU-vid Premium so your viewing isnt interrupted by an ad.) The singer, Floor Jansen, is often compared to Amy Lee, but in my opinion Floor is much better. This performance in particular is not just a song; it’s an experience!
I would also recommend nightwish's live performance of Last ride of the day from the masters of rock concert in Vizovice :Czech republic...no disrespect to Amy, but I would love to see you guys reacting to Floor
Beginning of the video "that note she just hit was one of the most beautiful cleanest i have ever heard" and all i think in my head is ooooohhhhh they not ready for the end lmao.
@@nuntichaapsiram2560 Yes she can. She has a lovely haunting voice. Far better than most. However Floor Jansen is by far the most talented female vocalist in the world right now. This is acknowledged by highly respected opera singers, classical singers, rock/metal singers, and vocal coaches.
You're spot on with your analogy ! You're getting emotional just shows a deep and caring soul ! You both are ! And honestly this shows us also you both are so compassionate and beautiful ! Love you guys . God bless .
some of these lyrics in the chorus is in bible verse like "when yor cried,I wiped away all of tears" (rev.21:4) and this "When you screamed,I fight all of your fears" (Psalm 34:4) and this "I held your hand throught all of these years" (Isaiah 41:13) and "You still have all of me" (Psalm 16:5) so amazing!
I've had the opportunity to see Evanescence live in first Monday, November 03, 2003 Venue: Wolverhampton Civic Hall Location: Wolverhampton, England, United Kingdom first uk tours at was in the front row and was unbale to breath to see the bands see Amy Lee will blow you away. it from in the soundtrack of the film Daredevil.
A very good friend of ours went on vacation to Italy to meet his relatives....tragically he was riding a scooter over there when a car ran a red light ...it was so sad as he cane back home to Australia.....he’d never been to Europe...he was only 23 ...this haunting song was played at his funeral...not a dry eye in the church...he was also an only child.......RIP Angelo....😪😪😪
