Tom was down to his last cigarette, power cut off, sitting out front of his place when he wrote this song. He went inside and told his gf Nova he just wrote the song that would change their lives... He recorded it right away, ran an extension cord from the neighbor to light one red light, shot the video (Nova does all of his videos), and posted it to Facebook that night. He woke up the next morning and it had 2 million views. Tom spent about 5 years trying to make it in hip hop, emulating those who have made it, singing about the same crap they do. It wasn't until he started writing his own thoughts, from his own perspective, that he made it. Now he's one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, independent rappers in the world. This is what blew Tom up in 2018, he's been consistent ever since, music with a purpose, starting conversations. Tom has a massive catalogue, but important early songs are - Castles, Exposure, Whiteboy, This House, The Music Industry, People So Stupid, for starters, people will say every song has meaning and has impact and that's true, but it'd take you about a year to catch up. #HOG UK

Tom always comes with a message and this was the first of his songs to go viral doing it. 🔥 Hangman and Dear Rappers were put out by Tom directly after he came back from almost a year off while he dealt with a mental breakdown. I look on those songs as the before/after mark for Tom's music. Those were the first two songs Tom released after he decided to start making the music that deliberately had a message he wanted to say in it. In his earlier stuff, the foundation's there, you can see what he would become, and some of the songs are great, but a lot of his stuff was about what everyone else was singing about - partying, girls, money, etc. That's the lifestyle that led Tom to have his breakdown and he spent those months at his mother's really self-reflecting, making decisions for the direction on the rest of his life and what he was going to do with his music. In Hangman, he was still struggling and had relapsed. He and Nova had just become a couple after about 10 years of being best friends. Then he wrote Dear Rappers and it went viral in only a few days. The rest is history. The story behind Dear Slim: Tom bought an NFT at auction for $100,000 that included a beat produced by Eminem called 'Stan's Revenge'. He took the beat and made an extension of the Stan video, as if he had survived the downing. It's not the video you'd expect at all. God given talent cannot be explained or described. Tom is a soldier of God. Trust me, I have learned and experienced almost 3 years of who he is. I’ve watched him pour his heart out, saw him angry, seen and heard countless accounts of him stopping people from committing suicide, (myself included) I’ve witnessed his work ethic, loyalty, dedication, courage, passion, selflessness, intelligence, as well as the biggest heart a person could imagine. He stands firm on respecting this country and that we are “one nation under God!” His creativity is like nothing I’ve ever seen! He’s unmatchable and untouchable by anyone, neither mainstream or independent! Tom’s influence is opening minds and hearts all over the world! It’s actually trickling into political offices! Donald Trump’s son DT Jr. started following Tom on Twitter about a year or so ago! Take that for what you will, but I know he’s talked to his daddy about him! HOG stands for hangovergang. Hangover gang initially is what Tom called his close circle of friends that he would go out and party with. He said the the term stood for having the best time of your life. Over time when he started music he gave that name to his Fanbase. And of course he was drinking and on drugs at that time however, as he became sober, the term “hangovergang” still means having the best time of your life, but without drugs or alcohol!
I have a very long backstory about “Dear Slim”. Yes it was produced by Eminem and yes it was purchased by Tom for $100,000 through an auction that went to charities. When you do your reaction I’ll be glad to give you the full backstory.
Brainwashed was the first song I ever heard from Tom McDonald. I really related to it. I'm not a typical rap fan but sure love the versatility this man puts out. Cancer is one of my favorites.
Tom and Nova are a team . Nova and Tom are known as a power couple. Nova raps and produces all of Tom's work. To learn of this team and why this is so special, you need to see Tom's love song to Nova ( Ghost) and Nova's love song to Tom ( Gang Gang). “Everybody hates me” is hilarious… some of my favorites - all the mac lethal diss related tracks (straight white male, which Mac lethal trolled Tom, and Tom released lethal injection, Mac lethal released single white female, then Tom ended it (and Mac lethals career) with “Mac lethal sucks” …then No Response and I’m Sorry came out when people kept talking nonsense. Some other favorites - Whiteboy, System, Scars, bad News…. There are so many!

Eminem is Tom's inspiration and helped him through a childhood of bullying. Eminem put up an original beat called STAN'S REVENGE on an NFT auction and Tom outbid everyone and won it for $100K. He used that beat and created that song for Eminem. Really great song - definitely recommend it!! You can react to any of Tom's songs in any order really because they're all great. But for another video reaction idea, I would suggest CASTLES - older like this song but is an amazing storytelling song I think you'd like.
When he did this one tom was broke. Him and Nova were having to borrow electricity from neighbors to keep their fridge running. He had to borrow money from family and friends to promote this. The order is basically the next song in the list.
