You know what I'd love to do if we had money? Stand in the grocery store and pay for peoples food for them (you can tell which ones need help) OR While eating out, pay for young (struggling) couples (& families) meals for them without them knowing. Things like that. Things I know I needed when we were a young family struggling in the 80's..

Lifelong Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast resident here. If you've never been through a hurricane, don't underestimate the danger. They can very suddenly increase in strength. And stock up on supplies, especially water. You might end up without power for a while. Stay safe!

Tip for hurricane, if you are going to leave do it earlier rather than later. Prepare now! Have your supplies such as generator, water, non perishable foods, wash all the clothes because you may not be able to later. Also from FL and doing all this now!
