That's what I love about this channel is to see all the different life stages that people go trough. I'm at middle-age adults stage. Lost both of my parents in 2022 at the age of 30. I get it now.
This song resonates with so many people, it’s about losing someone close. The video is full of symbolism. She has died- that’s why she’s bandaged up, never touches the ground, and never in a scene with the guy. The guy is in a suit (as if he’s come from a funeral). The lyrics are in his perspective, but she’s singing them. I would recommend this whole album. When it came out in 2003, it didn’t come out of my CD player for at least 6 months! Every track is a hit.
Amy Lee has one of the most beautiful and powerful voices in rock music. She's one of the finest singer/songwriter/performer/storytellers around. The band Evanescence has been around for about 20 years or so and they have a long list of great rock anthems. I'd encourage anyone who doesn't know the band too well to check out her earlier tracks 'Bring Me To Life' or maybe 'Going Under'. The list is almost endless. 🙋♂
In symphonic metal there are not many bands that can hold their ground against Evanescence. Nightwish with Floor is one of them. This song? One of the best rock ballads ever!
Hi... Try ,, Null positiv - wo Rauch ist, ist auch Feuer "(no love song, about war)... Or :,, Null positiv - Independenz" ".. This Band is german, with a strong female voice.. Enjoy. 🎸
All 3 of u ladies are beautiful but I just wanna zero in on the grandma for a sec. Her beauty, youth, and softness reminds me of Meryl Streep. Gets finer with age and u can feel her soft warmth through the screen. God bless u all. I love your reactions.
My last regular girlfriend was a go-getter who did "gig jobs" for a living loooong before Uber and Door Dash. She was Irish-American, pale, a redhead, had an infectious laugh, and she could make you laugh when she told the stories of the horrible things that happened to her in her life, but she also was an amazing singer. She dressed as Ariel from The Little Mermaid and performed at kid's parties, she'd work waitress at high end large scale dinner parties (usually for Holidays,) she cleaned houses and businesses, and she sang backup on several locally recorded songs. But this song, THIS song, was her all time favorite and she only sang it in front of people on very special occasions, but I was blessed to have her sing it to me many, many times. She passed away suddenly in her sleep in 2019, 2 months shy of her 36th birthday. I have dated, but haven't had a "steady girlfriend" since her passing. I think of her every day. This was our song. Thank you for sharing your reaction to this. ~Be Blessed
Yeah this song still hits! I like metal (and lots of other stuff). And when metal bands go 'soft' oftentimes something special happens. Tips to react to : Elegeion - Scars Alcest - Délivrance Antimatter - The weight of the world Saturnus - A lonely passage Hanging garden - Skeleton lake No clear mind - When you're not here Swallow the sun - Cathedral walls (you will again see current Nightwish' drummer.....the man has played on great records) Meadow island - Friends Blackfield - Hello Devin townsend - Deadhead Sirenia - In Sumerian haze
In fact the best ballads are written by rock and metal bands. Nothing Else Matters from Metallica or My December by Linkin Park are two of my favourites.
@@albertwayne2323 Yeah that list could be endless.....but lots of other genre ballads/lovesongs that are great too. A few great rock ballads : Stuart Smith's Heaven and earth - I don't know what love is Whitesnake - Is this love Slaughter - Fly to the angels Steelheart - She's gone Skid row - I remember you. Heart - Aline.
Amy Lee sings like an angel. You are right. For a great fun video check out Amy singing Bring Me Back to Life with the Waggaki Band. A folk rock band from Japan that uses a lot of traditional instruments. I think you would get a kick out of that 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The beautiful Amy Lee, awesome song Great reaction and LuLu would not look like a dead fish but more like a pretty swan, great reaction ladies keep on rocking 🤟
The symbolism in this video is so telling…I heard this from another reaction which I never thought of until watching it so many times…in the video, (cause the writing process she & he did when they were young teenagers may have different meaning to them), but in the video, she is always in white (symbolizing an angel), and he is dressed in black (symbolizing a death). Another form of symbolism is the fact she never touches the ground, she is always perched up high on a tree, fountain, or a rooftop which symbolizes she is a spirit/angel. It feels like she cannot move on to the afterlife because she’s still earthbound by their love…it’s all heartbreaking…this song kills me every time I hear it.
❤❤❤KATHY, LULU E DONNA.... É IMPOSSÍVEL OUVIR... COM CALMA 😇😇😇😇.... SEM DELEITE, SEM PRAZER!!! MÚSICA PARA A ALMA 💜💚❤️... ENVOLVE, FASCINA.... QUE ESSÊNCIA DE VOZ ❤..... FECHA OS OLHOS...... ❤E VOA.. ❤❤❤.. PARABÉNS ESSA MÚSICA TRAZ MUITA EMOÇÃO...... MUITO BONITA ❤❤❤❤
Their debut album 2003, "Fallen"! (Angel?) Their original guitarist Ben Moody wrote the lyrics, when he was about 15, dedicated to his grandfather, he's playing the piano and walking the streets of Barcelona. Used in the movie Daredevil. The video shows Amy never touching the ground, as a metaphor for being dead and unable to connect with the physical world. Did you notice the children, ignoring her? This connects with the theme of the song, which is obviously about the inability to reach out to a loved one that has gone.
When you can stand this, could you stand "Wrong Side Of Heaven" from Five Finger Death Punch? I love your reaction, came here for the Nightwish ones 😀 Good day everyone!
A song you may really like from them is the song Lost In Paradise that she performed live on piano called the session. The version is on the RU-vid channel amprocktv. Have a wonderful rest of your week!
She and one of the original guitarists wrote this together when they were 14 and 15. I saw them live the year this song was released, and that guitarist had just passed from cancer. She explained that while they wrote the song in high school, she now felt it had new meaning. She did this solo with the piano, and she cried.
In this video Amy Lee is a spirit of someone who's passed but it still lingering. That's why you see her in white up in trees, on rooftops, on the fountain, etc. You never see her on the ground.
Even in black and white,Amys eyes are still one of the prettiest ones i think i have ever seen. I understand why so many is crushing on her. I believe this video was done before the one i requested for you (My Heart Is Broken),as this band went through a massive change around in members at one point. The guy playing the piano and being pretty much Amys "counter part" in the video,is her longtime friend Ben Moody. If im not mistaken, him and Amy even at one point had a thing for eachother. But i know him as the one that helped her write music, produce songs,he is a multi instrumentalist and even an actor. At one point there was a breakup in theyr close friendship sadly, and thats why he is no longer part of Evanescence. The guy with the dreads you noticed right away in "My Heart Is Broken",is Terry Philip Balsamo II. He is very fond of Michael Myers from the Halloween franchise, wich he also shows when he is playing live. Oh,and during her time in Evanescence, even Amy Lee has had dreads. Aaawww Lulu,i was curious about the part with 2 immortal people, and then you left us hanging. Im sure you had a good story going there, dont ever doubt yourself. (Sadly today "dreadlocks Terry" is also a part of past members in Evanescence,he has also played in the band Cold) Want to see more of Terry rocking out with Amy (same lineup as in My Heart Is Broken) And the song is really different from anything you have heard so far: Evanescence - What You Want. It is said that when Ben Moody suddenly left because of "artistic differences",Amy Lee invited Terry Balsamo in as Bens replacement. Terry accepted and he was by Amys side from 2003 all the way to 2015. 5:06 Kathys face is like "Where are you going with this,Lulu?" Its a beautiful story on how Amy and Ben met though, through a summer camp in 1994. They quickly became close friends and discovered theyr common passion wich was music. They both founded Evanescence together and complimented eachother with song writing, vocals (as Ben is a singer too) and alot more. Its sad that things didnt work out anymore between the 2,because they had something special going on. I dont think they were ever a couple, but theyr friendship was super strong,so im sure My Heart Is Broken wich Amy did with Terry, also came to life because of the loss of her close friendship with Ben. (As well as being Amy expressing emotions over a past breakup)
Like i've said it before only one is near of the sun.... MISS Floor Jansen The Godess But Amy is still in my heart because of her talent Good singer and remarquable on her lyrics She's in my Top 5 for sure And after all.........this song got me everytime Personnal stuff yes A jewel of a song
Shit man, i think its was really good time react of 3 generation, holy moww wtf?? This will so a great story for ur family to watch later, god bless u.. indonesia❤️❤️
I would recommend you "Lithium" for Evanescence. It shows more of the power Amy can push out of her voice. Its a really beautiful song. Also If you search for something new, i highly recommend Aurora and Wadruna "Helvegen". Absolut incredible Live performance form Norway. The song is sung in Norwegian language and old norse, so i suggest with subtitles. This performance just blow you away. have fun
Many Americans only have Evanescence or Metallica as a reference for metal so it's great that you are listening to many European bands. Yes, Amy is a very good singer.
girl in the middle is so naive (in a positive way) she just doesnt know better. and no one can protect her no matter what you do. (we all knew better and yet here we are) this is intense for me
First time watching nice reaction but theres one song that the 3 of you need to check out. Trust me when you hear it you'll know why. Tim Minchin - Prejudice 🙂 trust me and anyone who knows the song no spoilers
Sounds to me like it's about someone who has died. Or perhaps broke up with her and will no longer communicate. Just my two cents. Such a beautiful song and y'all finish off with "It's hard to catch flies." ;)
Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody wrote the lyrics for this song, fleshing it out with lead singer Amy Lee, who wrote the piano part and added the bridge. They recorded it for their first EP in 1998, but decided to remove it at the last minute. By the time it was released in 2003 on their debut album, Fallen, the song had gone through a number of changes. The lyrics are totally fictional, according to Ben Moody. They evoke a spirit, but he insists the song has nothing to do with God or religion. Moody was still in high school when he wrote the lyric.
Ben Moody, the blond guy, wrote this inspired by the loss of his grandfather. Amy sang it using the loss of her sister as a child. "Hello" off the same album is all about her sister but there aren't many videos for that song.
Amy actually rewritten the entire 8 bar section just before the drums kick in, Ben's 8 bar section was ok but Amy massively improved that section imo She also removed a line from the first verse, that I agree was maybe a bit unnecessary She also turned Ben's piano chords to the melody you hear now You can hear Ben's original version by RU-vid searching My immortal the original version ✌️
@@newgrl Ben wrote it about his grand father dying after he spent years taking care of him in his old age So from Ben's point of view, I don't think the video means anything at all... The song will always be about his grand father for him
@@daz97 Not Ben... Ben. The character that Ben is playing in this video. In order for the video to make more sense, meaning Amy is a ghost, then you kind of have to listen to the lyrics as if they're from Ben's point of view. In this video Amy's character is dead. She's not hanging on to any memories. Ben's character is.
I've been listening to Evanescence since their debut and their songs have always resonated with me, it wasn't until years later that I found out that I share a birthday with the lead singer Amy Lee
Another amazing reaction video, Kathy I could see it hit a chord with you... You know what it's like to lose someone as do I... As said before you 3 ladies are absolutely beautiful and keep doing what you do... ❤❤
Anyone that wonders how deeply men feel should know that these lyrics are Ben's -- except the 2-line bridge ("I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone...") that Amy inserted. Love and loss cuts us all.
Such a great voice and always has great videos. Me along with so many other had or have a big crush on her. Her eyes are just so captivating in contrast of her dark hair and fair complexion. During covid she put on a couple home concerts just her and her keyboard, and explained taking time off to have her son. I still throw on a live concert of hers or a Amy Lee YT playlist from time to time. anyways good day cioa for now
I see quite many reactors react to Evanescence but not a lot of them reacts to their song "Lithium" In my opinion the best, most powerful, sad, deep and most hauntingly beautiful song ever made by a rock band. 23 by The Warning might be up there but other than those 2 i dont know any songs which can hit the feels so hard on me than they do. And i am soon to be 49 years old and i cry every time i hear those 2 songs lol ;) I´d say that you guys need Lithium in your life :D
When this album first came out I took my Daughters to see Evanescence in Concert. Amy Lee sung this song while playing the piano. It was simply beautiful and so was She.
