I opened my online store on July 1, 2024. I had one sale on July 18, 2024. I started receiving emails on July 23, 2024, threatening me to get my theme store fixed because I had corrupted files. I didn't think it was fair that I had to pay to get my store fixed. The emails looked official. I tried to get help with a third-party partner (the site recommended) to avoid my store closing. I was told it would cost me $15 an hour and it would take approximately 10 hours for the team to fix the error. It didn't seem right, and I didn't want my store to close. When I tried to pay the $150 the price went up to $161. 62 for international fees. I tried to pay with my bank card, and a credit card and both were denied. The "tech" asked me could I send a bank wire transfer and I said no. That was on Saturday, July 27, 2024. By the following Monday, my store was gone, there was a blank white space where my store was supposed to be. I was devastated.
I deactivated the store officially on July 31, 2024.
On August 28, 2024, I received a SCAM ALERT email.
I was scammed and my store was hacked.
They didn't get any money from me, but I had no access to my store.
I received an offer to pay a monthly subscription of $35 a month instead of $39 a month.
