A really interesting company is Smell Bent, very small affordable, but they have the most cool combinations of scents. Small batches and you can buy samples too. I would love to see your take on some of their more interesting scents.
I love the Libre scents but I like the intense version the most. However, I agree that they are more a date/party/Special even smell and not every day. It feels like the parfume version of putting on a really nice dress, something that is very on brand for YSL😊
You should def try the Guess Seductive Noir!! Great Vanilla! I love all vanillas that include a Noir(e) and Night in the end Prada Candy Night Tressor nuit a la follie Guerlain la petite robe noire Armaf Club de nuit
Best office scent is Chanel Fraiche, just by responses. Literally workmates following me down the hall more that once, "what ARE you wearing". Yes, designer, and incredibly well crafted. If you delve into the actual "noses" that create, compose these "designer scents", you can see how they moved forward on their artistic journeys, from the fragrances they created. It is easier to understand the "blending", and how they got from point A to B. Flankers aside (the houses go overboard, just my opinion), some of the compositions that are classic, and classic for a reason. I like a lot of your recs, but I just can't pay for Sunny Side up that lasts a few hours (per my sample), I have Pear Inc, again have to layer to get it to last. Ellis Brooklyn (I have several), expensive for how long they last. I would rather buck up for a Chanel Fraiche. Or back in the day, I have the Aliens that were the Liquor or special editions from years ago. Those perfumes were worth the spend. BTW, stored correctly, they still smell amazing, quality ingredients, Some of these niche turn in a year or two, no matter how stored. Frustrating, and expensive. I pulled out a Calvin Klein Eternity Summer from 2012. A little left, will finish this Summer. I am so, so, sad to see it go, it smells Summer delicious without smelling like every other Summer coconut, suntan lotion, citrus Summer scent. Burberry used to make some amazing Summer editions also. I love Magnetic Candy and wear that one thanks to you. I think Nomad can be a "evolve" into scent? My aunt wore Ralph Lauren Sahara all the time. It was too much for a long time. Then I layered it with 7 Virtues or Skylar, or Kayali Vanillas. Amazing, kind of a desert version of By the Fireplace. Thanks for the work you put into your videos. They are thoughtful. :)
Hi Lauren!! I totally get what you mean about how designer perfumes are meshed way too well together to where they don’t have a very distinct identity. But oddly sometimes I crave that lol but usually I don’t. But it’s so insane to me that someone finally described that designer perfume feeling the way I have been trying to for years!
Me too! It’s what I mean when I say a scent smells “like a perfume”. It means it smells nice but not like anything in particular so it’s a bit easy to forget or to pass over.
I bought Sea and Sand from EB on your rec and love both . I have issues with strong perfumes , so bought Apres last Christmas and wore it all winter!!thx !
Wow, I feel just the same about YSL Libre le parfume and I do love the orangeblossom in it,but love the intense version much better.Greetings from Germany.😊
I got Seductive Red from your recommendation and I love it so much! Im glad is a cheapie so even if it doesnt last I can reapply with not much worry 😂❤
I just always enjoy your videos! So appreciate your videos. I've had this on in the background while I click away for a work deadline and breath through anxiety spikes, for personal reasons. Thanks for making my night better
I love that Fenty hand mask! It was my hand savior living in a dry climate and washing ten thousand times a day during the pandemic. I still use it at bedtime and even use it on my feet.
I love magnetic candy I’ve been wearing it so much. I also layered it with Ariana grande ari and it’s so good with ari. I’m thinking of doing the combo when I see the Barbie movie.I got 2 scrubs of the traders joes bum bum cream dupe and the body butter. I only got 1 shower gel. I cannot wait to use it in the fall.
I agree, and can relate to your thoughts on the YSL libre line. Your thoughts are actually spot on to mine when it comes to this And I know since are subjective. But it's nice to know I'm not alone and not meshing well with some of the more popular ones.
Native Coconut Vanilla is my go-to. I try others, but I always return to that one. I think I first tried Tree Hut scrubs on your recommendation, and I looooove them.
You are definitely not alone in how you feel about Libre. Le Parfum is my favorite among them also and I still don't like it enough to own it. There are not many Designer fragrances that I love...
I gotta be honest. I just like your voice and I like perfumes (esp ones you’ve rec’d) 😅 I think my option specifically about fragrances is not well established
Thank you for the update Lauren. The SDJ scrub has me very interested in picking it up to compare to the TJ’s scrub. I’m excited you liked Seductive Red cause I really like that one, Noir, and the original. I might have to give Magnetic Candy another try as I didn’t really like it first sniff. Loved your makeup as usual. 💙💙
Magnetic Candy to me smells exactly like Marc Jacobs Daisy Twinkle. It's very lemony on dust application, but the dry down is super sweet violets on me.
You turned me on to the ouai st barts body scrub and cream.i love them and the smell is a bonus!totally get what you mean about the libre line.i don't feel like myself at all when I wear it.❤😊
Native Coconut Vanilla is my go to Native - delish!!! St Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter Body Wash is a favorite of mine - I know what you're thinking "oatmeal and shea" being a vanilla sweet dream sounds impossible right - it is SOOO good and truly it smells like a vanilla cupcake!!!! I pair it with the brown sugar Dove body polish! If you like that Dove smell - try the night time bodypolish! It smells so cozy clean!
My biggest dud lately was Pretty by Elizabeth Arden, it has peony, peach, and a synthetic floral molecule in it. It is not dated, but it is an obnoxiously sweet, very high school girl floral. Biggest success was Jasmine and Tangerine by Davidoff. it only lists those two notes and smells uniquely beautiful.
Thanks so much for the update, Lauren. I love your channel and reviews!! You really got me into perfume 🙂One of my new purchases was the Navitus discovery set which came with the Vivamor discovery set for free. I have fallen in love with one of the Vivamor scents, Reserve Exclusif. It's an amazing gourmand with notes of gingerbread and whiskey. It's going to be an amazing fall/winter fragrance. I was looking into it and the perfumers are Jerome di Marino and Francis Kurkdjian! It's so, so good.
i think right now my favorite scrubs are sugar spider & haus of gloi. i really like the drier texture vs the syrupy tree hut texture and the scents are absolutely divine. right now my absolute fave is sugar spider/arcana's two finger ballet (a really lovely dark vanilla)
I really like oribe as well. I tried their travel size shampoo gold lust I think is the name. I’ve been wanting it again ever since but it’s so expensive. I might one day during a vib sale l. The super shine moisturizing cream though is a repurchase item and worth it. Little goes such a long way and one bottle usually last me at least a year. But I have thick and a ton of hair so may not be great for thin hair. Have you tried the I am musk fragrance from target, same line. It’s such a good layering fragrance and on its own too. I’ll have to smell the one you mentioned!
Wonder if that native stinks bc taffy is more of a synthetic smell n that is a more or all natural product n mayb thts y u get more of an herby or vitamin smell. Being Frenshe frm Target the soothing comfort is great n Lume coconut smells good too.
I actually did a little experiment last year! I wanted to know if it was worth it for me to buy Oribe haircare because I love the effects but it’s so pricey. I found that one 8 oz bottle lasted just as long as a liter bottle from a cheaper brand. I usually wait for sales to stock up and its sow worth it to me 😊
I don't know how this would compare to the Oribe but from what you described it sounds like the Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo. It's kind of hard to find sometimes but it's one of my all time favorites, it gives volume without drying out my hair. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend!
i don’t love that native body wash either. it’s so not great 😭😭😭 i LOVE the strawberry taffy deodorant, and i can tolerate the wash so i’ll finish it, but ugh it was disappointing :((
I just want to thank you. I stumbled across your channel a few months ago and I'm so glad I did. You've given me so much great information regarding scents. The way you describe scents is spot on I feel. I always watch your videos before purchasing something new. My all time favorite perfume is Pear by Juliette has a Gun and because of you my 2nd favorite is Sunny Side Up. Thank you for your channel 😊
I reallllllllly dislike the Tree Hut Vanilla scent, it smelled very "old lady" to me. 😂 I won't be repurchasing anything in that scent again. About to bust into the LE Birthday Cake shave oil next!
I have not like any Native products. They all smell so gross to me. I wasted so much money nc of how hyped up they are online. Idk 🤷🏻♀️ they must pay pretty good cause they are def not as good or smell as good as ppl say IMO
