This is one of my very favorite songs that came out when I was about 11 or 12. They knew this was coming. That's one of the reasons they did the song is because you can predict how man goes man becomes lazier each time. If people don't wake up we're going to be the reason we all end

I was only 12 when this song came out, never really paid too much attention to the words. But now, in my late 60s, listening again, it's so worrying, thinking that so many of the things predicted can already be foreseen - and in a much shorter timescale. I dare say that, at the time, most people thought none of this would come to pass, but how wrong they were. Never mind wondering if man(kind) will be around in 10,000 years, there must be doubts if we'll last the next hundred. Really scary.
