Hey, walshaw! We were both making the same comments two hours ago! I'm a music freak who likes to sing along with the words and I had been listening to Mr. Blue Sky for YEARS until someone pointed out to me that the vocoder voice is not singing mister blue sky but please turn me over! Funny and strange at the same time. By the way, are you deep into ELO? There's some strange voices going on in the 30 second intro to their song Shine A Little Love, the first track off the Discovery album. Do you know what's really going on there? I don't know so if you DO you I'd appreciate hearing from you!

High path, they are very small clips from turn to stone and concerto for a rainy day, both off the same album as mr blue sky, out of the blue…👍

Equally, "please turn me over" (to the other side) could have the ultimate meaning of a supplication to Mr Blue Sky for change more permanent than that induced by happiness at beautiful weather. The basis for that - obviously - being that Mr Blue Sky is God, who does things "all right" in every sense. The beautiful clang we hear is indeed from hitting the fire extinguisher. But does that mean we want fires (in us) to be extinguished, or NOT to be extinguushed? After all the device is being hit, not used!!!

That's because we used to listen to full albums to soak in the artist's realization. There was no, "This song is going on the play list". I still listen to music this way today. If I want song for song variety, I turn on the radio for a slew of predictable choices.

@@mgordon1100 I also play my LPs from start to finish. Even those who are not "concept" album per se. Artists back then use to put in considerable time and effort to get the track sequencing just right and its a way of honouring the Artists original intent. Sure, there are the occasional album I skip certain tracks but for the most part I play them through. Ive given up on Spotify and Tidal. They offer a great variety of albums but I cherish the physical media format, like LPs and CDs. I cuddle up in a cosy nook enjoying the cover art and read the accompanying booklets! I get as much pleasure out of CDs as LPs. I started collecting CDs as a 15 year old back in 1995 and my CD collection consist of ca.20 000 CDs. I also but the occasional LP, mostly 60s and 70s Pop and I've got around 1 000 LPs. I'm loving it! 60s Popsike, Soft Pop and Baroque Pop and 70s Singer/songwriter and Soft Rock are my favourite genres. My favourite artists include The Beatles, Hollies, Beach Boys, ELO and Gilbert OSullivan!

@@thomasmarthinussen8978 Yes!!!! Concept or not, the song order of each album was important. I have said this over and over, but most people just don't get it. Look at Abbey Road. The closing medley put aside, the rest of it could not be played out of order. It was meticulously designed that way.
