This is an amazing work of art, from the music to the visuals. I have watched this video a hundred times (not exaggerating) and it hits me every time. I can't imagine ever getting tired of this song. This album is absolute genius but we've grown to expect no less from RM. 💜

Namjoon wants to be a wild flower in the field, basically free and open like everyone else. But he is also a firework that shines so bright it burns itself out. The chorus sung by Youjeen is so beautiful and an amazing play on words by calling him a flower work!!!💜💜💜

I love this song. I think Namjoon is a brilliant lyricist. I think he also sees Army as a flowerwork/firework. Performing in a large stadium with all those purple lights must be like being in the middle of an explosion or a field of purple flowers. I have been Army since I realized they gave me hope for the future of the world. Borahae.

This song, and in fact the whole album is a work of art, a true masterpiece! Before I could read the lyrics, the music itself was enough but these lyrics just sends it over the top. I noticed how powerfully Youjeen's voice just bursts through RM's smooth flow... like fireworks bursting through the still night sky. Another thing I noticed is he bookends the song with the chorus which he only says twice. But I noticed how strongly he performs the 2nd chorus in the MV, it reminds me of testifying at church! Thank you for hitting this album, whatever track will be something worthy. There is enough depth in the music and lyrics of every track so that every time I hear the album it sounds like something different to me, like it is shapeshifting. Like it carries ghosts with it that reveal themselves the more I listen. I put off playing the album for a couple of days. Like I had to create some space between everything I was doing and the experience of the album. But I had no expectations, and was thinking kind of like a collection of Bicycle and Seoul tracks. Where I stand on it now is that it is evidence that the solo work of BTS members show like layers of cloth that had been interwoven into one - think double-faced wool - which have now been unpicked from each other so we now start to see their full colors and patterns. Another idea that came was that BTS are like the Himalayan range, and the BTS members are like individual Himalayan peaks that reveal their contours as we move through the range. And my final thought is Namjoon is a master. The EB track is a real shapeshifter. It's going to hit way different on the fifth listen, compared to the first. IMHO. Would love to see your reaction on that fifth listen. Update: Suga debuted his sipping & talking YT show today with Namjoon as his first guest. They talked about some of the challenges that you discussed when breaking down the lyrics.

Never doubt your instinct, Toney, lol! In the middle of BST, RM releases a balloon 🎈 against a red background and says: “he too, was a tempter. He too, was a link to the second. The evil world with which I wanted nothing to do.” Or something like that. Believe it was a quote from the book Demian. And as you said, the song relates to loss of innocence and the battle of good and evil within one’s self. Or I could be wrong. I look over my own shoulder sometimes… 😏

Namjoon is a true gift to humanity. His music is so meaningful, creative, and impactful💜💜💜. I remember when Namjoon had the idea of comparing BTS/them to a firework. He and Jimin were in LA on 4th of July (for AHL I think) and Jimin thought the fireworks show was amazing. He kept saying they are so big and bright and Namjoon told him they were the same in that they will explode so brightly but then fizzle away into the darkness. The man is a true genius🥹👏🏻👏🏻🙌🙌💜💜💜

Those lyrics reminds me of festa 2022🥺 How Namjoon said, how they have to hold back. How they each can't voice out. The weight of fame and expectations.. I thought he was referencing Young Forever because the cover of that album was them in a hot air balloon. However, it represents all the same means - innocence, childhood, dreams, young, driven, hope, etc

Actually the balloon thing. In the final song on the indigo album he talks about a balloon filled with himself exploding. To me that means that his sense of self is fragile like a balloon, and here he is desperately trying to hold on to his sense of self as it tries to drift past him.

I just finished watching your entire reaction and I just gotta tell you again- I LOVE the way you breakdown the lyrics. You must be a poet too because you’re so good at it. Don’t know if I can recall all the different thoughts and response I had while watching but here are some: Innocence and BST reference- yes I got that too and I agree with your interpretation. Crescent Moon- I think the song you’re thinking of is Jin’s song MOON. Mask- I’ve heard the song many times already, it never dawned on me the poetry of indicating how heroes and villains also wear mask. SMH. Almost like a dub moment. Overall- this song is toward the end of the album. RM said that we should listen to the songs in order. And given that that song has elements of his going away for a little while, I get the impression that the songs are a timeline of how he felt in “his 20s” as he says. If so, then I feel bad for him that despite all his amazing success, he still feels the need to wear a mask. Lastly, his song with Erykah Badu is the first song in the album. Edit… oh that’s right, the mummy in Egypt listening to Dynamite 😂😂😂
