I read Mike's autobiography several times, and ... this is the first time I see THE BEACON from the outside 🤩 Les - I read of your ponytrekkings with Mike and Willy round there (where Willy dropped into the mud one time), and Martin Griffith taking drunk Mike for a (very first) looping-flight 🙃 ... from the bottom of my heart: I really thank you for your contibution to some of the very best of Mike's music, and for your genius playing - making the recorder sound soo heartful & nice🙏 !!! 😍
I wondered how Les Penning should feel , sitting 46 years later after the pictures were taken at the same spot , and overlooking his past life and recording a remake of the music he once created with Mike Oldfield . I would feel sad , and proud of what I have done .
@@brianward7392 Its not about the piece of music, but the feeling you would have when you are at the same spot 45 years later, in the autumn of your life and would you be happy you made a sort of revisited Ommadawn?
@@Chappomusic it’s obvious Les is proud of this achievement and to revisit is a great thrill for us all to hear in another arrangement it’s just a beautiful piece and personally makes me very happy 😃 by the way is this you Roger ?
Music, that lasts forever. I was 15, when Ommadawn was released - and still love it. A classical work that never gets out of style. Cheers from Germany!
