Holy crap. The scariest part is the hearing damage from the squealing metal on slopes.

The screeching really adds to the what-the-hell-is-going-on ambience 😂. So many Asia scenes. And some random ones thrown in..why NOT?!

That dragon at 2:00 in definitely fell over and no-one's bothered to stand it back up again haha.

This is what Spirit of Halloween would be like if it was a ride and not a store.

I rode this not even knowing it existed in the first place, and It didn't take me long to understand why there was nobody in queue for it... This is definitely the next thing that they'll refurbish

(full disclosure i know nothing really about Chinese Mythology and folklore or Ghost Train Rides, so I'm in no position to talk about that stuff;) Honestly, aside from some of the dated animatronic movements, the brightness of some of the scenes (to where you could see the ceiling and emergency stairs), and of course the *lovely* screeching sounds, I thought this was very interesting? Like looking at the lighting choices for some of the scenes and the attention to detail that they had was honestly pretty cool to me. That one scene in what i think was a graveyard at around 2:27 was really neat with the red light reveal inside contrasting the cool colors outside. Maybe I'm just easily entertained, or it doesn't look as good in-person, but I still think it's pretty gnarly. Gonna go try to read up on some of the stories the ride depicted.

I think the concept and creativity are wonderful. This would be a blockbuster, if only it were updated!

If they only added led lights and make it a lot darker would already make a huge difference

It's basically the Haunted Mansion in the Chinese Underworld.

It's amazing how terrible but somehow grand this was. I think it's the sheer amount of terribleness that gives me that feeling!

I really like the ideas especially the hitchhiking Ghosts and mirrors from Disney's Haunted Mansion

This was quite pricey and unique when it opened up back in 1981. Built on two levels underground, with 100 carts traveling a distance of 250 meters. The lighting used to be much darker and moodier. It also seems the facility is behind on maintenance now. Probably at the end of its lifetime.

that's a shame. the attraction is nice, there are great sets, but we can see that it is aging. between the animatronics that make cardboard, the light that is too strong and does not highlight and finally, the most horrible of all, the infernal noise of the omnimover running out of grease. a rehabilitation of the attraction could be a real plus!

So, they took Little Mermaid ride vehicles, and painted them to look like Doom Buggies? Sure.

This has nothing to do with "a bewitchingly beautiful journey through Chinese mythology."

It could do with an update in all the ways. New ride system. New animatronics. Maybe some research.... I rode this when my school did an exchange trip with a German school in Iserlohn. I was as bemused back then. The area it's in was lovely even back then. It doesn't need to go, it just needs to change. Especially after all the work the park has done to be exceptional.

Not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing, that this ride is still working after all this years.The first time I rode it was at least 30 years ago (according to Wikipedia it was opened in 1981). Judging from the video it still looks the same as ever, only the ghost mirror effect seemed to be different.

As an Asian Chinese, I feel this Rikscha's mixed Asian hell style bit weird, for example there is no Yama or ox head horse face, but I'm still glad Germany willing to try an Asian style hell Rikscha.

This ride would be better for 🎃👻!

It's a pretty high budget ride, the ride system, all the big scenes. It's a shame they did not really flesh out a story, with this budget they could have done something completely different and cool. cool ride nonetheless.

This extreme screeching is definitive not normal, just bad luck :( The ride is from 1981 (Schwarzkopf), so it's an oldie which of course would need a big rehab. The most part is underground under the China Town theme area, so you can imagine they maybe don't put a lot of money in this attraction and think about big changes. I still like the ideas of most scenes with asian tales!

That makes it really cheap... Even other lesser-known parks do better! The lighting, the cardboard sets, animatronics that work halfway, the whole ceiling and evacuations... Definitely not for me!

so this is where all failed Imagineers went. There's reason why Shanghai doesn't have a Haunted Mansion. It's consider bad luck to glorify ghost in Chinese culture.
